Germination

I usually do a 18-24 hour seed soak, and then straight into soil to germinate. This time around, I decided to give Dr cocos method a go. So I did the scuffing, 3 hour seed soak, and then into paper towels in a container on a heat mat. I checked them this morning, and all but one had broken its shell. I won't be home this afternoon, so I decided to put them into the jiffy pellets a little early. A week later, and we have 5 out of 8 seed planted, up and healthy. I'm not too sure what happened to the other 3, but I haven't gone digging about to check as of yet. I'll give a couple more days and see how they go. Keeping the tent conditons at 22°C and around 60RH. Good luck, and positive vibes for all you other growers out there.

Looks like some fungus gnats found their way into my soil and laid some eggs. Fuckin pricks! I've never had this problem so early on during a grow. Mostly they're just a nuisance, won't kill your plant, but at this early stage, the damage seemed to happen really quickly. One day they were fine, the next day the leaves had started to wilt, and get spots that look similar to a PH problem. I've been hitting the plants with Dr zymes, and I've put down some mulch with diotomatious earth. Perhaps I'll also water from the bottom for the next week. Finger crossed that does the trick. Not the best start for this grow. 😒

I've given my babies the dr zymes treatment for a week now, and they're looking much better. All the new growth seems undamaged, and hopefully we're full steam ahead. They made their move from their 12oz pots, up to their new homes, in 3 gallon fabric pots. The up potting went well, no major hiccups there. I used grow dirt super soil from the last run in the bottom half of the pot, and fresh grow dirt seed starter soil in the top half. I sprinkled some microbes around the roots before transplanting, and then watered in with a bit of my home cultivated LAB'S, and some mammoth P. Topped it off with some fresh alpha mulch. Happy little girls.

I've watered the girls for the first tine in 6 days, and only about 250ml each. The soil I'm using combined with the mulch holds moister incredibly well, and they just didn't need it. They're looking great, and growing well. The Northern Lights is already starting to show pre flower pistols. First time growing autos and I have to say I'm enjoying it. My tent is just in the garage, so is a bit subject to the outdoor weather. It's starting to get super cold here as winter sets in, but the space heater connected to the inkbird is keeping the tent nice and stable. I have a humidifier connected to an inkbird to keep the grow space feeling tropical, and trying my best to dial in an appropriate VPD. Using an IR thermometer to get leaf surface temps too. All is going well.

I'm really not too sure as of when to start counting flower for autos, but I guess I'm counting from now. All my babies are girls, which was expected. But I must say as a new grower, it's nice after running regular seeds from the last run, not too have to kill off the boys. I can't help but get attached to all the plants I'm growing I gave them a top dress of herb superb, and some stone age mineral composition this week. And have given them another top up of microbes. My LABs, and some great white shark. Girls are looking happy, and that makes me happy. Wishing the same upon all of you.

I had to get rid of one of the blue Berry autos, because it started to push out male flower buds, and I didn't want it pollenating my whole tent. So down to 4 plants now. The northen lights is the one leading the charge, and looking the best in my opinion. I havent done any training to this one, as well as one the amnesia haze, just to compare it to the 2 I have done some LST to. All plants are looking healthy, but I hope they keep getting bigger, because they're so small to be flowering like this. We will see..

Stretching a little bit this week, and starting to look a bit hungry. I let the pots dry out a bit, pushed the mulch aside, and did a top dress of some more dry amendments. Then watered in thoroughly. Hopefully they keep on stretching, but im not sure if they're going to get to much bigger.

This week I noticed the greens fading a bit at the bottom of all the plants, and starting to fall off. I'm thinking this is both a natural thing to happen at this stage of the plants life, and they're all getting a bit hungry. The dry amendments seems like they take a while to have much of an effect, and maybe I've been too sparing on them. Will top them up, and continue to give water when needed.

Little update, not much to report. The dry amendments are either only just starting to take effect, or I didn't give them enough initially. Gave them some green supreme in their watering this week also, the plants always seem to like that. Starting to smell pretty nice when I open up the tent now. The blueberry(which I did LST on) looks quite similar to the amnesia haze I did the LST to, and the other amnesia haze with no training has a similar bud structure and trichome production as the NL that ive left without training. Does that make sense? Impossible to say what this means exactly, but in interesting observation I thought. And I wonder if training your plants can create such a dramatic change in these areas of growth. 🤔

The plants having been looking hungry, so I gave them some liquid nutes to get the job done. Didn't measure EC, and burnt them a little bit, also think I cause some lockout. Have done a few solid flushes to get rid of the nutes, and it's led me to believe I've been under watering. All things considered they're looking okay, and smelling amazing.

The girls have been taking about 1L every 2 days at the moment. I think I must of been depriving them pf water a little bit. The smaller ones look less damaged by this, I assume because they need less water Looking at the trichomes, not seeing any amber at this point, but judging by the buds, I think we're getting close.

Getting close now. Starting to see little bits of amber in the trichomes of all the girls, and I'd say be harvesting within the next week or so for most of them.. I might give the amnesia haze a bit more because they're suppose to take longer.

This was a true pleasure to grow, and didn't need too much precision. It was a bit stunted by some underwatering, and I dont think it took the Low stress training to well, but looked healthy throughout the grow Some beautiful colours coming out during the grow, and the smell was amazing in the tent.

Great strain, I absolutely love the taste and the effect. I messed up in the grow, and yield suffered a fair bit, but the quality of the end result is too notch Very happy.

This was the best growing and highest yielding of all three strains. I think I harvested a little early for this one, as that's what the high suggests. But it is a lovely smoke

Keep an eye on those girls. I ordered the same pack from ILGM and one, out of the two I planted, grew into a boy. Removed and trashed him. Definitely seems like they are in preflowering stage and look great!

@Cod_Fish_Joe, Yea my Amnesia Haze hermed. Was my first grow so I only wanted to start with two but now I planted 3 more to replace it haha.

@BURN1, thanks for the heads up. One the the Blue Berry looks like it's herming on me, but the rest look fine so far. Did they herm on you or just turn out a straight male? And which strain?

@ETphonehome, thanks for the heads up, but im in Australia, so °F is confusing to me. I will try and put both °C and °F from now on, as I understand a lot of people on here are from the states.

@Legendaryseedthumb, Thanks heaps man. Only my 3rd harvest. Smallest yield, but best tasting, and most potent to date. I think I nailed the harvest time. I made a fair few mistakes, but learning huge amounts. All the best in your grows too.
