5/13 Began soak in distilled water at 1am. Ph was set to 6 and heat mat regulated at 75 degrees. Set timer for 18 hours. As of 3pm none of the seeds have sunk yet. I gently nudged them with a clean toothpick. None sunk as a result. Continuing to wait until the full 18 hours has passed and then moving on to the paper towel method. 5/14 All four seeds have sprouted! I'm letting the tap roots get to at least 1/4" before planting in media. I checked at 12pm today and seeds had not popped yet. By 6pm the tap roots were all at least 1/8". It is very possible that they may get planted tonight! Pictures to follow..... 5/15 All four seeds produced tap roots approaching 3/4"!! Planted all four lovingly at 2pm today. 5/17 I have 4 seedlings pushed up! 1 hasn't shed the shell yet, but we are off and running now!

The girls are doing well over all! There is one runt that is healthy in color and stem strength. Considered pulling it and starting one of my other strains. I didnt want to be a week behind on one plant, and the runt is growing. I think I'll take my chances. 5/27 Feed the girls their Fox Farm week 1. Growth is starting to pickup.

5/29 - So...my Amazon lights are junk! Big surprise, right? Because of that, I have dropped to 5" over canopy. I did this gradually and monitored closely for light burn. Every inch I dropped the lights, the ladies lifted their leaves towards the lights. I read online that that is called "praying". So since they responded positively, I am going to just leave the lights as close as possible. I will need to invest in a proper light or lights for my next grow, which is Growers Choice Critical Purple, can't wait!!!! It is a shame that the cheap Amazon lights cost me a solid 2 weeks of positive growth by following the manufacturers light hanging chart. Oh well, what can you do? Since lowering the lights, there has been a minor explosion in growth and I can only assume that will continue. Will feed week 3 nutes later in the week as soil dryness dictates. 6/3 - Fed the plants today and adjusted lights to 4", again they suck! I topped the first node off of all four girls. I misted all plants with diluted Cal-Mag. Set the dehumidifier to 60 % Rh and emptied as well as set the humidifier to 40% RH. Measured runoff. Left set: EC: 3.0, PPM: 1514, pH: 7.1 Right set: EC: 3.5, PPM: 1750, pH: 7.2. I cant get the pH to come down in my runoff. I really should have checked the pH of the growing medium prior to planting. You live and you learn!

First time Coco coir. I neglected to check the pH before planting, and I can't seem to get the pH down from 7 to 6. I have tried rinsing with several gallons of 5.5 pH, no help. What is safe to add while growing? Thanks!

With my experience with coco the runoff is never in the absolute correct zone. If your seeing high just keep feed/waterings at 5.5 for your veg cycle. Cheers

6/5 - The girls are thriving! PH is a bit high but everything else is going great. Starting two feeds per week. 6/8 - Fed the plants today and adjusted lights. Tested runoff and the pH is getting lots better. Left set EC 4.1 and pH 6.6, Right set EC 4.4 pH 6.76. The topping worked out, two news tops have formed on each plant. 6/9 - Defoliated the bottom two nodes from the left set of plants and trained branches to the side with rubber wire and binder clips to hold onto the fabric pot.

6/12 - The plants have recovered nicely from topping, defoliating and LST. Ordered Mars Hydro LST 2000 for the tent. It should be in by mid week. I really did the wrong thing by getting the cheapest lights on Amazon. But at least the old lights will be decent side lights. Still fingers crossed for a big finish, flowering will start soon. 6/16 - I finally got the new light today! Mars Hydro TSL 2000. So nice, especially compared to the old 2 Amazon garbage lights! Starting them off at 50% power since they have basically lived in the "blurple" darkness for the first month of their short autoflowering life! Hoping for bigger and better things now, fingers crossed. Fed the plants today and will be doing the first flush this weekend. Also, the tent got invaded by flying insects that were chewing the tips off of the leaves. I still haven't positively identified them but, I did purchase many yellow glue boards and put some on the tent posts, plus the stake style glue boards went in each pot. This has caught quite a few of the pests and I don't see the damage increasing, so I will call that a win I guess.

6/19 - The plants all entered flowering this week. Right on schedule with what Growers Choice says about the strain. The new light is incredible and is finally at 100% power. The plants have really responded to it and growth has picked up. The insect issue from last week seems to be handled. All yellow glue boards have caught many flies and there doesn't appear to any further damage to the leaves. I did a heavy flush on all four plants today per Fox Farms nutrient schedule. The PPM went from around 2000 to 150. pH stayed at 6.5. The plants started displaying signs of magnesium deficiency on the top leaves, had to confirm this online of course. After flushing, I gave a normal watering with pH 6.5 with 5ml CalMag, plus foliar spray of the same solution to get in the plants both ways. I did some "reverse" LST on one plant. I originally LST'd this plant too far outward, so I wired them back to a more vertical position. I also defoliated the bottom third of leaves and all leaves that were blocking lower bud sites on top. 6/21 - Fed the plants their weekly nutrients. Calcium deficiency has whooped the plants asses! I'm using CalMag to bring them out of it. 5ml per gallon on every watering. 6/25 - The calcium deficiency seems to have passed. I kept calm, and fed 5ml. CalMag per gallon all week. CalMag foliar spray twice during the week, one on Monday and then again on Wednesday. I trimmed as many damaged mature leaves as I could see. All new growth seems to be unaffected by the calcium deficiency, though they are slightly twisted. The leaves still have deep grooving in the veins of the leaf. I'm not sure what causes this, and they seem to be growing and developing pistols like crazy. Is it possible that the leaves change as the plant matures? And as a real bummer, all new growth tips have nutrient burn!!! The Fox Farm bottle said up to two feeds per week and I got greedy. Going back to one feed per week. So, there have been a few set backs in the last two weeks. Between the gnats, calcium deficiency, and now nutrient burn, the plants have been through a lot. Hoping for some stability in the plants to finish things off. On a side note, I'm not using Coco next time, being void of calcium in the first place and the need for so much flushing, I just don't think Coco works for me.

6/26 - The plants got fed today. I used 1 gallon per plant which led to runoff, but since the plants did get flushed last week, I decided to let them "marinate" and get the full dose of nutrients. Hopefully, I wont regret doing that. I would hate to add more nutrient burn to the list of insults the plants have endured over the last two weeks. But, we are flowering now, and the plants need the nutes to get things going. Hoping for a trouble free week. Oh, and please forgive the yellow appearance of some of the pics. I don't know what was up with the lighting, but as you can see in the other pics, they are plenty green!

7/3 - I fed the plants their weekly feed and defoliated a bit. The plants are still looking much better from the calcium deficiency ordeal. The tops are getting much taller and my only option is to lay them over LST style and hope for the best. I only have about 6 more inches left that I could raise the lights. Things are filling in nicely. I would say that about 85% of the 8 sq. ft. are filled in with canopy. All bud sites are getting good light and air flow. I am thinking about adding a second feed mid-week at 50% strength. Hoping these buds will hurry up and grow!!!

7/10 - I fed the plants today and defoliated quite a bit from the bottom third that was in complete darkness. Trying to send everything I can to the tops! The buds are filling in nicely and starting to connect on some of the tops. So, so many bud sites! I know most of them will be popcorn nugs, but it all adds up! Wondering if it will be done by week 12? I sure hope it is!

7/17 - The plants are nearing harvest! About 3 weeks left as far I know. I have really had a constant battle with the coco and the calcium deficiencies. The final weight will no doubt be affected by this. I have increased the dose of calmag to 7 ml/gal. Also, I am now applying foliar calmag at the same strength. It seems to help a little. Hoping for as strong of a finish as possible and already planning the next grow.

7/31 - Man! I wish I knew how much longer these girls are gonna be getting ready! So frosty, getting thicker and more dense. Pistols are popping out on top of the buds. Dont know if this means more bud growth or what. Still using the pocket microscope to check the trichomes and they are just getting to the point that they are mostly milky. Hoping this week or weekend will be time for harvest.

Should I harvest with mostly milky white trichomes or should I wait till some amber ones come in? Any idea how long from milky white to amber? Thanks!😀

This depends on your own opinion. If you like a more body high you need more amber. But if all trichomes are milky white you can harvest, and this is the point where the THC is at the maximum point. I prefer always a 90% - 10% milky amber mix. I don't like the couch lock maybe just 1 time a week after a hard Traning or work. Your lady's looking really good 💪🏼 enjoy your work 💚👌🏼

Great buds came from this harvest. I've learned tons and cant wait to start the next cycle. 5 pounds with stems wet weight. Dried and finish trimmed I'm expecting a pound. Not too bad for a first attempt. And man is it sticky and stinky!!!!
