man that went downhill fast... that white slime uah.. you sure nobody jerked on those roots? lol... they took it good in the beginning... and are you sure that the reason was your tap? I could imagine that all that organic junk clogging the nutrient channels was the case of heavy ph fluctuations due to the rotting roots... did you apply mycos? that buzz stuff, is that some kind of bacteria, with like bio-food in it? RO is a good idea no matter what, yeah.... what I've noticed, your water looked way too loaded I find. was this some kind of experiment to do a hybrid hydro/organic grow?.. it is a nice idea.. I personally would keep bacteria away from it, or try with heavy aeration, as much as you can get basically. I think root rot only grows when o² is too low , it kinda looked like it worked for some time.. weird. did u use airstones? probably very neccessary for that brown sauce:) I thought bout doing some kind of hydro - system with only mycos myself. like aeroponic... but without organic nutes... I think organic nutes in a hydro system is a waste personally. and something like mycos would probably only neeed very low ammounts if any of organic matter. sorry don't want to sound rude or something.. all those questions... lol

It reminds me of khan yeast from the times I was brewing Kombucha. A RO filter is a great idea, it also sinks my ph from 7,5 to 6,5, couldn’t be better.
