I decided to try a new germination technique this time. I planted my seeds directly into jiffy pellets that were soaked with water and Recharge. Ive never tried this method with cannabis, but I have had great success with the jiffy pellets, with fruits and vegetables. But as I am moving in a little over a month, I decided to take the worst looking seeds I had in my seed bank, and attempt to grow them. As i do not want to start up a huge grow again just to have to tear it down to move, I figured id do some experimentation!! Maybe some aggressive training techniques or something else Ive never tried. I will be running 4 different strains through this abuse, so please let me know if you have anything yall would want to see me try to do to hem in the first 6 weeks of veg of a cannabis plant! Not worried about if this run dies, I just want to learn more! Im trying to get crazy!! lol
So I decided to go ahead and try my luck at my first outdoor grow! I just dont have the room this year for an indoor grow... Ive grown vegetables outdoors but have never tried cannabis. Im very worried about pests and the sun being too bright and intense for my plants, so I bought a little 5x5 green house to put them in. It has an open face and with a couple fans im hoping I can keep it cool enough! If anyones got any outdoor growing advice for growing in the Southern heat of prohibition land!!
Unfortunately this week my seedlings were hit by a squirrel.... He didn't do a ton of damage, but managed to taste at least a couple bites of all my plants just to make sure he didnt like any of them... So I moved them inside, and but them under my HLG 65. I figured id let them grow up a little then move them back outside and put them in my green house. Unfortunately one of the two NL fast plants go eaten, probably past the point of return... The other is dealing with weird curling leaves, like the rest of my seedings.
I moved my seedlings back outside in a desperate attempt to dry out my soil. Had to cull one of my seedlings, bc she never recovered from a squirrel incident... lol Plants seem to be responding well, but now I am battling temps that reach highs in the 100s. If anyone has any advice on growing cannabis in high outdoor temps, please let me know!
all is going well! I moved her to a 5 gallon bag, and moved her back outside! shes supposed to be a quick flowerer, but shes also a quick grower too! shes grown faster then any of the other strains im running!
7/28/21- Moved her out into the field that will be her final home! Was hopping the high temps, full sun exposure, and insects, wernt going to be be too hard on her... Luckily she handled it like a champ! She absolutely took off, and doesn't look like anything is going to slow her down!
had some black spots appear all over my plants over night... then in 24 hours they turned white/tan. Not sure what it was, but it seems to have stopped. it happened right after a day with a bunch of rain, so that could have contributed. It happened to all my plants (8 different strains) so idk what it was. But they are growing great again and seem to have only slowed a little.
@KronicalChef, yea im pretty sure I over watered.. Ive been letting them dry out. So when I start watering again, you would recommend just watering with just plain water?
I’m currently growing this exact strain outdoors next to marshy area. 15gallon grow buckets. Promix plus vermiculite. Fox farm happy from veg and now fruit and flower Nutes. Huge plants. Good luck bro. Great genetics here !
