Week 1: I weaved these plants into a Scrog last week and decided to defoliate this week. They seem to be moderately happy even tho they were stripped yesterday. They are starting to stretch towards the second trellis. I haven’t decided when to start flower but thinking approx 5 days from now if everything looks good. Happy Growing 🌱

Week 2: I did some defoliation of top leaves and some short ones at the bottom trellis that would be light deprived in the end. I watered with a transition feed with higher ppm and they darkened back to a healthy green. They were looking a bit yellow. I’ve never done a true weaved trellis, but I think I did my research and am ready to flip. I know I have to hurry up to hand stretch and not burn. Does anybody have any suggestions before I flip? Hi there. I’m wondering if anybody has some last minute things to do before flipping to flower when doing a weaved Scrog. I’ve gotta move quick as overall height may be an issue. I’m waiting in a 13/11 hr holding pattern for a day or 2 more. Thanks. Happy Growing 🌱

To be fair that looks real good what you have done. You lollipoped all the lower shite and have spread everything out well in the lower net. I would switch to flower. The top net comes in handy for spreading them colas out when they get big.

Flower Week 1 Day 4: Plants are looking good, I am moderately concerned about stretch as these plants are already half way up the tent. Gonna have to keep my fingers crossed. I’ve been patting the tips down gently to create an even canopy. I watered with Advanced Nutrients Sensi coco using the hobbiest amount. Ppm was 750. I have my Spider Farmer SF4000 at the top of my tent and dimmed to 80%. They are needing water every 4 days approximately. The Chemdawg and Dutch in the front are doing better than the Durban and Shishkaberry in the back. I’m hoping for some good quality bud off this round as they are better genetics, better light and better nutrients. I’m hoping I can take it to the next level…..if they don’t burn. 🤦‍♂️ Happy Growing 🌱

Week 2 day 4: these plants are packed in there, starting to reach up towards the second trellis. The chemdog shot up quite a bit more than the others, but we’ll see how it all shakes out. I have defoliated some of the big fans hanging over the canopy and gonna have to do it again after a couple days out of town. They are drying out fairly quickly and needing water every 4 ish days. Ive added a fan under the canopy to keep the air circulating vigorously. So far, so good. Hoping for a good potent funky result. 🤞🤞🤞 Happy Growing 🌱

Week 3 day 2: These plants are looking pretty good. I’m glad I removed what I did before I flipped as this canopy is packed. I’ve removed a few leaves that are covering bud sites. The buds are starting to form up and the smell when manipulated is stinky. No particular terp, just good ole weed stink. I’m thinking I may do a heavier defoliation to expose bud sites but have had seeds in the past and am wondering if defo stress could be to blame. On the other side of it that canopy is packed and dark underneath, no light is getting through. Anybody have any suggestions? Regardless everything is looking good so far. Happy Growing 🌱

1st I'd look from the side of the plant. Look at where your light can't penatrate through and draw an imaginary line and remove the lower shite. Then look down on top of the plant. Leave as much as you can, but if there are bunches of leaves sitting on each other or blocking light from hitting alot more leaves then remove a few leaves. I am not a hater of defoliation but you have to be tactical for it to be effective. Also try not to do it all in one foul swoop. If you remove all the lower rubbish wait a few days before attempting the top area. You also want air to be able pass through the plant. Stoned dribble.

Week 4 day 2: I learned a valuable lesson this round by putting in a small Chemdawg and 3 plants that were much taller. The chem was not weaved like the others as it was smaller there was nothing to weave. So it was able to stretch more stacked, thicker and taller than the others. Obviously it’s strain specific but I have grown the Durban and Dutch before and this isn’t what I expected out of them. 🤦‍♂️ Otherwise they’re all looking healthy, I’ve removed some leaf from the underside and the giant fans up top covering bud sites. I’m not going leaf strip til week 8-9 as I’ve had seeds when doing it week 3. 🤞Ive increased the light to 95% as I want as much penetrating power while not discoloring top leaves. I’ve increased the dial 1 moa every couple days. Because I’m leaving more leaf to use up that light I think this is a good idea to try and assess. Starting the week off with just cal mag and rezin and it they dry out I’ll feed with the above. I’m also going to be trying the Advanced Nutrients Overdrive in weeks 6,7,8. Happy Growing 🌱

Week 5 Day 1: The smells are starting, they’re starting to chunk up from a week ago. The chem is definitely larger than the rest, but the Durban is doing its regular thing and making hard nugs. I haven’t done anything except tuck and defo large shading fans. Just on cruise control. I fed with the above amounts 2 days ago which is that same as suggested for week 5. I’ll be adding the overdrive in week 6 and see what that does. The Shishkaberry is a little lack luster in size but we’ll see she goes and the Dutch is stacked up pretty nicely with some crowding between the nets. All in all getting more pistils, size and trichs every day so nothing to complain about. Happy Growing 🌱 Update: W5 D4- So I opened up one of the ovules from each plant and there are tiny seeds inside, does anybody else have that or does that mean I have seeds again. Also, starting to have a bit of a leaf tip burn but not sure what the reason is yet.

Week 6 Day 1: All I have been doing is watching and tucking large fans. There is some purpling of the fans, I’m thinking it is my night air temp as I can’t see it being nute burn and fade at the same time. Idk. I have been gently shaking the bottom trellis to remove dead leaf from the under canopy and give those big tops a gentle shake. The smell that comes off is really fragrant, like a sour citrus berry musk. I’d ditch the carbon filter but my wife disagrees. Haha My run from last round is finally cured to a nice flavor and smokabilty so I’ll be putting up the reviews on that shortly. From what I’ve smoked I’m glad I picked the Shishkaberry and Chemdawg for this run. They aren’t huge producers but the smell, potency and flavor are there. Other than that, just hoping to finish strong with some quality bud at the end. Happy Growing 🌱

Week 7 day 1: I’m heading out of town at the worst possible time 🤦‍♂️ These plants seems like they’re already starting to fade out, some yellowing and purple happening. Over the week I could only watch on my Wyze cam as the green faded away to purple and yellow. I’m not exactly sure why they faded so early. Regardless here we are, finishing up. Pistils are starting to redden and checking trichomes to find that sweet spot. Happy Growing 🌱

Week 8 day 4: well, being out of town was great, but the timing sucked. Also, it’s official, I’ve been procrastinating and saving for a Stealth RO system cuz I’m pretty sure that’s part of my problem. I have hard water in rural Canada approx 300+ ppm and I think it’s messing with the plants. Tons of cal and it’s causing sedimentation of my nutes in the mixing pail. When I was hauling water of 120 ppm things were more fragrant, smoother to smoke and better yield. Hoping the $500 investment pays off. 🤞🤞 As far as the plants go, they’re alright, finishing up well, metabolism is slowing and mod fragrant, I’m missing that stank tho 👎🏻. I’m gonna haul water for flushing which will start whenever they’re dryish in a couple days. I’m hoping that will help with some of those terps. The buds are all good and fat, Durban is nice and firm with that great sandalwood/earthy aroma. Chemdawg is sour with a hint of gassyness. Shishkaberry is sweet ripe berry and the Dutch is a sweet and piney. I continue to try to make each run better and improve equipment and techniques. I want to send a shout-out to @DoDrugs420 for helping me out a ton on my way to 1000 likes. I appreciate the likes and comments from everybody. Thanks a lot 🙏 Happy Growing 🌱

Week 9 day 2: Well this one is at the closing stages of growth. I flushed heavily at the end of last week. I flushed with florokleen and let it sit for 30 mins then flushed with plain 120 ppm hauled water. Each plant got 5 gal and my final ppm runoff was 120. I bought an RO in hopes to flush more but I need a booster pump as the pressure is only 35 psi. So I guess 120 will have to do. Already noticing more smell 5 days after flushing that salt out. I’m pumped to get the next round going with the new setup. Other than that they’re on cruise til the end. I’m watching trichomes, most are cloudy. I’ll probably wait til my days off to chop and hang. I like to do a couple days in the dark too so we’ll see when they’re ready to come down. Happy Growing 🌱 Day 67 update: trichomes seem to be mostly cloudy, Im gonna wait a couple more days, then darkness for 72 hrs ish then chop. I’m pleased with how this run has progressed. Seemed a little touch and go a while back but 3/4 I’m really pleased with. The Dutch seems a bit small but what can you do.

Harvest day: I decided to do a standing dry on this crop like I’ve done in the past. I figure if it works for the farmers it works for me. Makes it easier for me to control smell and fits harvest into my schedule better. All the buds were super sticky, firm, dry, and went straight into jars. I’ll leave them there for a couple weeks burping every day. There was quite a bit of popcorn buds, but I knew that from looking at the underside. I’ll use all that in edibles and oil. I kept 4-5 1L mason jars of colas and shucked the larf into bags. There’s 3 12x12 bags with Various quality larf. That’ll be it for a few weeks while this cures up. Once I’m happy with the cure I’ll do the reviews. Til then check out my Fastbuds Auto grow I started a couple weeks ago. Happy Growing 🌱

I love this strain and this pheno. I’ve been growing it for years. It was one of my first seed bank seeds. It has this slightly skunky sandalwood Incense scent that is very hard to contain. The neighbor knows I’m grinding this up. It has this catch all kind of balance that lets you do what you want. Allows you to titrate your wanted effect. Less for sativa and more for balanced hybrid effects. The nugs are always dense, easy to trim with little leaf. Maybe not monsters, but how much of that is my doing. I’m no pro. I like this strain also because it allows for some introspection and appreciation. Makes a good dog walk great, makes chilling comfy while still having the ability to talk if that’s what you want. I could ramble about this strain for a long time haha. It’s great.

This bud is nice light sativa with chilling CBD. I primarily use cbd between my night shifts where I need the medicinal smooth muscle relaxation but don’t want to be baked. I make tiny gummy bears. They’re nice to have around, great for lightweights and discrete out in the world. There is little effect that is feel-able, like have a triple espresso but no buzz after the first 15 mins of smoke. It’s my get shit done smoke. It’s also one of the first genetics I bought. There were five seeds in that package and this is the first one I popped. I’m indecisive AF so the thought of having to pick between a couple to keep gives me anxiety haha 😥 This is all for me so I usually start smoking it before it’s fully ready. So I never really know what my final weights are. Regardless I’ve had it since the beginning and don’t see myself giving it up. Happy Growing 🌱

This plant is quite sativa structure so it stretches a lot. I tried to train and strip as much as possible. It has low calxy to leaf which makes it not the greatest yielder but the effects are there so 🤷‍♂️🏻Whatcha gonna do.

This stuff is strong man!!! By far the strongest I’ve ever grown. I had a 1 g joint like I usually do and was gonzo. It was awesome, chilled for 2 hours and watched fishing videos. Could hardly lift my arms to hold the remote for half an hour. It has a sour gas lime kinda aroma that is so pungent. I’m super pleased with this pheno and strain. Great job to Humboldt Seed Company for a sweet seed. Like I’ve said before, this is all for me so idk the total weight. There 4 1qt mason jars full plus a 12x12 ziploc bag full of larf for edibles. It was definitely worth while running those mothers. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The smoke on this Shishkaberry is very nice. Blueberry and Kush flavors, creates mild to moderate relaxation but not a lot of sedative effect. Good late afternoon smoke or pile it on in the evening and settle in. I had thrips BAD in my veg tent, but her mother wasn’t phased. Stayed big and bushy while other strains, prized to me, we’re completely obliterated. She grows well and produces well so I’ll keep her around a bit longer 👍🏻👍🏻 As I’ve said before this is all for me so I don’t bother weighing. I dip in and sample before it’s fully ready so idk what the end weight is. I ended up with 4 1 qt mason jars.

leaf burn may be just a bit too much N, or overall too much EC I would guess. you could try to water with plain water and Calmag with slightly drain (not much) but man, looks pretty much perfect for this stage. how often do you add your nutrients , every watering?
SAC87
SAC87commented4 years ago
@Mud868,oh I didnt realize which week you were looking at, sorry about that. Ya week 6 is when I realized this round. I think I’ve known this was a big hinderance for a while. I’ve been upgrading lights and nutes and equipment and now the water is glaringly obvious. Regardless, sounds like we’re on the same mind track. I repotted from a 3 gal to a 5 and scraped the outside woven root and peat off -/+ 2 cm just before weaving into the net. I have used florokleen since the beginning, given my trash water situation. I use mychorrizae on the root balls and top dress with it once a monthish. I find they work well. At this point my only solution is to buy an RO. I like the theory of the Hydrologic stealth. It has 1:1 or 2:1 waste to RO, so less waste water that I’m paying for to go down the drain which I like the thought of. It will pay for itself with less dog pee grass burns, plants will be significantly better and I don’t mind a drop or 2 with my whiskey or gin. Haha

@SAC87, hey, yeah, I replied to like a weeks old picture too:) (was looking at those slightly burned leaftips at week 6), did not realize you're already that close to harvest. I've been growing myself in indifferent regions so far, different EC values. and yes, since 300ppm are about .6 EC I think, you should def. be right on that one. Ive had problems with .47 EC in soil too. it kind of worked, but just like your grow right now, maybe a bit less pronounced. it accumulates over time, soil can buffer it, freshly potted plants seem fine... I guess cause of humic acids and whatnot in the soil. I guess some kind of "solution" would be to re-pot the plants right before the switch along with pruning your roots ( cutting the outside of the rootbal on each side where salts accumulate most. ) root pruning is a very healthy technique. like this they would do just fine the first half of flower, then use up all the nutes in their leaves if it blocks... my current grow was with .8 EC water, and I also had to flush them with florakleen due to Carbonates buliding up before flower... it is not even calcium, it is calcium stone I think, , carbonates.. so not really usable for plants. maybe a good organic percentage n the soil would help with that, along with mykohirrzae, and some good bacteria, but that is just a guess... best solution is RO water or de-ionized water, that is what I use after getting hit by this problem once again....

SAC87commented4 years ago
@Mud868, hey thanks for the comment. I do feed feed water and check ppm and ph of run off. I have overfed in the past and try to be conservative with feeding. In my experience N toxicity leads to dark deep green rather than N deficiency causing yellowing throughout. My thoughts are sedimentation from trashy high cal water causing unknown amounts of NPK to be precipitate out of solution causing inaccurate ratios. It would be like adding tons of cal before adding micro.

@MrHyde, I’m quite happy with it so far. I only ran it on 80% as the plants were so tall and the videos and reviews stated that’s where the most even light pattern was. They’re not crazy expensive at $700+ cdn, but that’s not cheap in my books. When the flower is all for my medical purpose it’s kinda steep.

@Ukgrower2021, oh ya!! I just bought another tent to keep mothers in. I’ve got 5 strains that I really enjoy. Durban, Chem, Shishkaberry, Cali Kush 20:1 Cbd, Dutch 2:1. Lovin the setup now, 1 4x4 auto tent, 1 photo 4x4 and a 2x4 mother tent. Gonna be sweet!! Happy Growing 🌱

@Bubble_Budz, thanks, I appreciate it. It’s taken a lot of time, confusion, learning, genetics and equipment upgrades but I’m very happy with how they are. Just listen to your plants and do what they want, after you pick the seed, it’s all about what they want. 👍🏻👍🏻 Happy Growing 🌱
the end.
