I'm growing In House genetic dirty banana, its Kush Mints x Banana OG.
The seedling emerged today after about 3 days. I said I would never use roots organics again and would instead only use regular coco, but for this application and where I'm growing its perfect since I wont have to use and lug around nutes for a while. The environment has been warm and dry in the area that I'm growing in and I may need to add a humidifier and possibly eventually an AC.
I'm not currently using nutes but am using a bunch of beneficial bacteria products. I'll eventually be using Heavy 16.
I only plan on Veging this plant for around 30 days or so.
Nothing has changed in terms of nutes. I got a bottle of Excelurator that ill add to the mix next week. Weather has been stupid hot and it's only going to get hotter in the next couple weeks. Hopefully this plant can stand the heat..
-Update- 7/5
I uppotted this plant to a 3 gallon pot. The roots of this little plant were starting to come through the bottom.
This lil plant is really stretching out and is about 20 inches. It's pretty muched doubled in size. I dont have much control over the environment due to the room I'm growing in and things have been running pretty hot. Flowers are finally starting to form I added Fire back into the mix and things are looking pretty good.
I threw up a net last week to try to seperate the main tops a bit. Kind of a bummer to see that If I'd not broken a branch early on how much better things could've been.
I'm growing this plant pretty passively, but from the looks of it If I make it to the finish line ill be yielding more than I expected.
To say that environmental conditions have been bad would be an understatement. It's been hot and dry. I'm growing this plant a bit more passively than the other one and view it as more of an experiment since I decided to try to mainline it. I've never mainlined before and ended up screwing up one of the mains, hopefully it grows back. I had said previously that I wouldnt use Roots Organics again due to the fact that its super precharged. The leaves are super dark green and I havent really fed any sort of significant amount of nitrogen, but as I stated before I'm not being too nitpicky and I'm glad I fucked up mainlining and feeding this one versus the other plant I'm growing.
This grow has kind of become a "What not to do". I snapped one of the mains on my attempted mainline, which is clear from last week's photo and its starting to look like more of a bonsai.
I told myself I'd never use Roots Organics again but figured I'd give it another shot and the tent has been full of fungus gnats and foliage is dark green and looks like N toxicity. I've had this problem every time with it. I've used other soils in the past and have never had this issue, I will use only coco from now on. I hung some yellow sticky traps and drenched the soil with Azamax. Hopefully I can salvage something out of it. Worst case scenario I'll just take some cuts.
This grow has been really strange and I'm glad I'm not taking it to seriously. I flipped the other day. The main stem is fasciated and is completely flat and has some really interesting/weird growth. I'd be happy if I get a half ounce out of this mess, but am pretty stoked on watching this mutant grow.
Weather is super hot and super dry, but this plant seems to be doing ok.
I'm finally going to start feeding this plant some nutrition. I fed this plant a PK/Bloom booster called MOAB (Mother of all blooms) in the beginning of last week the NPK value is 0-52-32 so I was a lil wary of adding any additional nutes. I mixed up some Heavy 16 today at half strength but excluded the "Fire" nutrient for the time being, I may add it back into the mix in a week or two as I increase my feeding.
I picked up a bottle of House and Garden Amino Treatment and a bottle of Power SI Bloom, When I bought them I didn't realize that they both contain silica, so using them both would be kind of redundant and possibly damaging, so I'm going to switch back and forth between the two.
This little plant is pretty weird looking with its Fasciated/Diploid stem and funky growth. If I had the space I'd chuck some Freakshow pollen and try to make an even weirder looking plant.
So far so good. This grow isn't being taken as seriously as my other one where I actually have some control over the environment. I'll be happy if I get around a 1/2 Oz off this thing.
This thing is tiny, but its starting to stretch. Temps have been cooling off slightly and humidity has been going up. Keeping temps and humidity half way decent has been a pain and pretty much beyond my control due to where this grow is licated. I'm feeding heavy 16 minus the P/K supplement "Fire" since I used MOAB last week, I'll probably add it back into the mix in a week or so. I used some wire to try to balance out this little canopy. I'm considering adding on a net to get this canopy balanced a lil more during its stretch.
This thing is really starting to stretch. I added a net last week to try to get the canopy a little flatter and it worked a little. Temp and RH can definitely be better, but im growing this plant pretty passively. I'm seeing the first signs of buds forming. This coming week I'm going to cut out Fire and use a bloom booster called MOAB for the week and see how that works. I'm glad I'm not to attached to this plant and it gives me a bit of an opportunity to experiment. I broke a branch early on trying to mainline this thing (which I had never tried before), I learned from it and If I decide to try it next grow ill be a bit more gentle.
I used a bloim booster again called MOAB. Temps and RH% still suck but this plant has really stretched out. Unfortunately I had to super crop two of the branches to keep them off the light.
The stretch on this thing has been ridiculous and its most likely due to me using such an underpowered light. I had to pull some of the stalks away from the center and towards the walls to at least keep these plants from touching the lights.
As I've said in all my previous post this particular grow isnt being taken too seriously. I'll be happy with whatever I end up with in terms of yield, which most likely wont be very much.
Nothing real exciting going on here. Buds starting to swell a lil. Pistil are turning color very early, probably due to crappy infrequent watering habits. If you've been following along you'll see I'm not taking this particular grow to seriously, but im going to make an attempt to fix these crap watering habits.
Nothing exciting here. Buds are starting to stack a bit more
I'm taking this grow pretty casually and this light is very underpowered for this size space. Ill be happy If I get a half ounce of some half way decent smoke.
Buds are looking decent, but airy and sparse. The reccomended flowering time is 2 weeks away, I think it will most likely be closer to 3 or more. Most pistil are still white with some red/orange speckled in here and there.
Taking this casually and I'm not expecting much of a yield (Maybe an ounce?). I look forward to reaching the finish line.
Wow. I'm pretty impressed with how this is looking considering the underpowered light and my passive/carefree growing of this plant.
Buds are getting heavy and I had to get resourceful and use some tie wire to support the buds and keep them from flopping over.
I've been following the Heavy16 feed schedule but decided to change it up a bit this week. These past few days I've been using only Prime and Finish and decided to use a P/K bloom booster called MOAB made by Mad Farmer and a product called Mendocino Avalanche made by Grow More that claims to be a hardener (That is PGR free). Most of the trichomes are cloudy with some clear and some amber speckled in here and there. The end of the reccomended flowering time listed on the seed pack is tommorow, but I clearly have at least a week or two before I flush.
I'm considering going forward cutting out most of the nitrogen products in the coming week, I'll probably only use Bud B, (if I even use any base nutrients at all and) ill follow the feed schedule but possibly remove Bud A.
I'm coming closer to the finish line and look forward to the chop.
The weather is starting to get cool and moist and I'm really struggling to keep the humidity in check. Buds are starting to really swell and get heavy I had to tie the buds up to the ceiling with tie wire. I completely cut out Bud A and so im feeding very little nitrogen.
I'm shocked this plant isnt ready yet, it still has mostly clear trichs. I think it should hopefully be ready in a week or so. Hopefully im able to keep the humidity in check as I wrap this thing up.
I'm really shocked this thing isn't done yet. I cut out most nutrition for this plant thinking itd be ready to harvest by this week. I was wrong.
I'm going to go back to the Heavy 16 feed schedule along with some additives that I was using until I start seeing more cloudy trichomes and then I will finally flush a few days. I'm guessing another week or two.
-Update- Day after original post
I had previously noticed leaves starting to get lighter. I came home today and after watering/fertilizing I noticed one of the leaves had completely faded to purple/yellow. Harvest time is right around the corner.
Just waiting for this plant to finish up. I began flushing a few days ago. I'm thinking it will be ready to chop in a few day once the leaves fade a bit more. It's been cold and moist lately, luckily I was able to find a spare dehumidifier to bring the RH down a bit.
This strain went much longer than I thought it would, but it made up for it in yield. I can only imagine how much better this would've been with a higher output light.
