First grow in Hydroponics so I was just going with what I thought would be good. I have very little experience, but have done lots of reading. I jumped in on the cheaper side but am going to make due. I have a 2x2x4 tent, I will be doing aggressive LST and topping. I know people say autoflower don't do well with HST. But I don't mind experimenting as this was just a extra seed and my first autoflower.

Just letting it grow. Water level is half way up the net pot, I will let it drop to the bottom of net pot after roots show. Just watching PPM and pH. Adjusting as needed.

Jet checking PPM and pH, I seen growth take a large leap over 3 days so I started LST early when 2 nodes were visible.

Let it grow till I seen explosive growth. Then LST, waited a day or 2, then topped, waited a day or 2 then LST, waited a day or 2 and topped a second time, waited a day or two and LST and defoliated. All the training in the description on week 3 started 6/20/21 and ended on 7/2/21. I know that's more then a week, but week 2 ended on 6/17/21. So week 4 should of started 7/1/21. I just wanted to describe shortly everything done in those days. I apologize as I work 12 hour days everyday and lose track sometimes. I'll do a much better job about recording time and training from now on. Waited maybe 3-4 days and just started a Scrog tuck. Still checking PPM and pH daily. Keeping PPM between 400-450, pH can go anywhere from 5.5 to 6.5. But I prefer 6.0 as my adjusted pH. My temperature can climb sometimes to 85F but never drops below 74F. I DO NOT RECCOMEND DOING WHAT I DO. THIS IS VERY AGGRESSIVE TO DO ON AN AUTOFLOWER. I will update again next week, I'll take plenty of pictures to cover everything. Thanks for checking my first DWC hydro grow out!

7/4/21 Day 1 of week 4. I made a few adjustments as you can see. Seen a $1 car windshield reflective and cut it up. Cheap, easy, simple. Looks terrible but it totally works. It's made temperature drop a little in the buckets and added more light to the underside. I had it under a scrog net for 2 days. It pulled everything out nicely. I'll put it back under in a day or two depending on how high it starts reaching. I upped the PPM to 600, pH was adjusted to 6.0. I may top it again if it doesn't show any signs of flowering. But I don't know, I kept it low and it does need to start some vertical growth. Any advice? Suggestions? I've just been winging it guy's. I'll be updating this daily so I don't have to cram everything in at the end of the week Haha. 7/5/21 update As you can see I did some more changes. I moved them to a larger tent with more air flow and lowered the lights to 18 inches and split them to get a bigger coverage. I did LST on all the plants just by bending gently( not supercropping) and tucking leaves. I checked ppm and pH and adjusted to keep in the 550 to 600 range. I was going to top the OG Diesel Kush autoflower again but I get the feeling it will flower soon so I won't. It's growing everyday even though I have literally abused this plant. So it has some hairs going on, does that mean its flowering stage now? Or is there a transition time? 7/6 Well sense its showing hairs I did a transition dose of nutrients at 600ppm, pH 6.0 I did another defoliation as it was really dense with leaves. Got all the cola tops ( branches) exposed to direct light and air. Roots are strong, they got 1 dark spot but I think it's from clumping densely. It smells clean, like no smell at all clean and the mass is very white. 7/7 usual pH check and ppm check, LST and leaf tucking for light exposure to lower nodes to stimulate growth. 7/8 All the strongest branches were selected and trained into position. The rest got chopped off. And as always pH and ppm check.

7/9/21 Between 7/7 and 7/8 I completed the LST and defoliation, I also cut off any weak looking branches. It's recovered like it's never been touched. Hopefully it keeps growing this strong till harvest. Oh there are hairs popping up all over the plant now so I'm going to call this week 1 of flowering so training was finished just in time. Now I'll let it just grow. I don't want to stress the plant at all now that its getting ready to flower. But if some lower weak growth appears I will take it off. I want all the energy going to those colas. 7/10 Just letting it grow and checked the ppm and pH 7/11 I couldn't help myself, I defoliated and repositioned the branches to give them more space. I also checked the pH and ppm 7/12 Checked ppm and pH, plant showed lots of growth over 24 hours so the defoliation and repositioning with LST didn't seem to slow it down. 7/13 pH and PPM check, forgot to take pictures sorry 7/14 pH and ppm check, tucked leaves and pulled the largest branches out again. 7/15 She recovered and grew, pH and ppm check, I noticed the girls were getting light green in color. I've been under feeding because I'm not going to do a res change. I haven't done 1, not even for transition I just let the ppm drop and start adding bloom nutrients slowly. 7/16 Forgot to take pictures sorry. pH and ppm check.

7/17 She's growing like crazy. I've defoliated this autoflower 4 times and it still needs more done. It's already got hairs all over but not bud formation. I'm afraid to defoliate again. I upped the ppm to 750, She immediately perked up after getting fed more. Any advice on defoliation or what to do from this point would be greatly appreciated. 7/18 PPM and pH check, slightly defoliated. 7/19 PPM and pH check 7/20 PPM and pH check 7/21 PPM and pH check 7/22 PPM and pH check

7/24 Checked ppm and pH. I am very very impressed with this autoflower. It took everything I did and never stopped for recovery. She's a monster. Hopefully she keeps growing this way till the end of harvest! Regardless I'm just enjoying growing this autoflower. Thank you for checking out my grow!!! 7/25 Checked ppm and pH. 7/31 Checked ppm and pH. She's still getting taller and the flowers are getting fatter, Still waiting on buds to start. She's doing well, I got lazy for 1 day. I checked ppm and pH, figure there was enough water for 1 more night. I was wrong, came back from work and the bucket was almost empty with a ppm of 1450 and a pH of 5.8 I quickly topped her off with fresh water, ppm fell to 780. Bumped it up with a dash of grow and bloom to 900ppm and a pH of 6.2 She quickly perked up, haven't seen any nutrient burn, she's still growing everyday. 8/1 Checked ppm and pH 8/2 Checked ppm and pH 8/3 Checked ppm and pH 8/4 Checked ppm and pH 8/5 Checked ppm and pH 8/6 Checked ppm and pH ( Note : I am topping my DWC off daily, if ppm goes below 900 I add a small amount of my nutrients and check it till its around 900 ppm again, I add sink water that sits out for 24 hours, Its ppm is 125 starting. I have not done a reservoir change at all. If ppm climbs to high I just add fresh water till it falls) This isn't recommended, I am doing this as a test run. I don't mind experiments on my plants, I just enjoy the grow and what I get in the end is only a bonus.

Ok so I messed up somewhere somehow. Week 5 of flowering didn't start till 8/10 but I'll just keep going as is sorry! 8/7 Checked ppm and pH. It climbed to 6.3 and 1250 ppm. I decided she is looking a little to lime green, but I did starve all the DWC for the first few weeks. I was scared to raise the ppm. I honestly wish I did it sooner but all good. She still looks decent even lime green lol. I finally did my first Reservoir change. Took grow out completely, added more bloom, cal-mag, and hydroguard. I went this route to see if it was a salt build up or excess nutrients. Hopefully she gets some color back and if not it's all good! I'm still already happy about this grow. 8/8 Ppm and pH check 8/9 Ppm and pH check 8/10 Ppm and pH check 8/11 Ppm and pH check 8/12 Ppm and pH check 8/13 Ppm and pH check Wow. I almost lost faith and thought it wasn't going to fatten up much. But after going through the last week, I can see a BIG difference! Can't wait to see how she turns out. For my first DWC hydro grow and only doing 1 res change the entire time, I'm pretty surprised! Thanks for checking out my OG Diesel Kush autoflower diary!

https://youtu.be/iRVHAkj54c0 ( YouTube video made by my Partner Legion Of Roots of my tent and OG Diesel Kush Autoflower ) 8/14 Ppm and pH check. Wow, I'm impressed with this OG Diesel Kush autoflower. I didn't think it would get so big. I had to really tie it down multiple times and could of pulled everything out even more. Honestly if I'd of done a scrog net I think it would be double in size. I should of ran it in it's own tent and went for maximum canopy exposure. I'm still very happy though.

Ok so I'm really impressed with this autoflower. It's a monster in my opinion. I really pushed it hard for a day or two during a heat wave. Temps were 88F, I gave it a Full dose of PK booster ( LiquidKool Bloom ) and some Raw Citrus. Plant suck the bucket DOWN FAST. I thought alright its liking it. It did but it also burned it pretty badly. So I watered it down and got a cal-mag deficiency lol. Then during the heat wave I was being to brave and left to work for 12 hours with high temperatures and the plant tops at about 2 and a half feet when its recommended 3 feet. Totally my fault. But man oh man, she took all of it pretty well in my opinion. She's a little burnt but the FROST on the buds are insane outside the tent lights. It hasn't even had 1 night of sleep its entire life. 8/15 Checked ppm and pH, felt brave and added full dose PK. 8/16 Checked ppm and pH, pH remained steady at 5.9, ppm climbed to 1200. I let it run. 8/17 Checked ppm and pH, pH remained steady at 5.9, ppm climbed to 1400 and the bucket was empty. I knew I'd see burned tips soon. Added plain pH water, dropped to 800ppm. Left it to drink water. 8/18 Checked ppm and pH, tips showing burn but its definitely swelling, was it worth it? So far I'm thinking yes. Definitely yes. Ppm 950, pH 6.0 8/19 Checked ppm and pH, ppm at 1100, pH at 6.2 I watered it down with plain pH water to 700. I was feeling brave again, added more sweetener and PK booster. Ppm at 900. ( I made a mistake over the last 2 days and forgot to add cal-mag) 8/20 Checked ppm and pH, ppm went down to 800, pH at 6.2. Made no adjustments just added Cal-mag. I already had a slight deficiency going but not adding ANY to a plant that drinks 2 gallons a day was a huge mistake. It got a lot of brown patches and yellow but not everywhere. I also realized it was to close to the CMH. Plus a heat wave sent my temp to 88F while I was at work, not sure how long. I think I got a little bit of foxtail going on the very top tips. Adjusted temperature and raised light as high as I could. 8/21 Checked ppm and pH. This plant just eats and drinks to much. None of my other plants come close to this one. I have to check it everyday. My others can go up to 3 days untouched. This monster is impressive. I would reccomend this autoflower to anyone, but it says it's an intermediate grow level. It's been super easy for me. Really hope this monster finishes soon. All trichromes are clear. Still got awhile to go. 8/22 Checked ppm and pH 8/23 Checked ppm and pH 8/24 Checked ppm and pH 8/25 Checked ppm and pH 8/26 Checked ppm and pH 8/27 Checked ppm and pH

8/28/21 Checked ppm and pH. Oh my god!!!! I feel like a fat kid in a candy shop!!! I LITERALLY want to eat this thing.... when you move, touch, bump, or push to much airflow on this plant, it puts off a serious odor. But if it's not being disturbed it's a stealth grow. When you touch it tho, god it smells soooooo good. Sweet candy Lemons. Can't wait to try this out ( I've had before but never grew myself). Oh and you can't tell she is still fattening up nicely. Still no amber trichromes Yeah let some hot days warm the tent up a little to much and got some foxtail tips going on lol. Sucks a little but I kinda like the structure of it. Not too bad, but not quite ugly.

8/29/21 Checked ppm and pH. Today I will do what I call a slow Hydroponics flush. I will only be adding pure pH water over the next week letting the plant lower the nutrients itself. At the end of the week I'll do a full 2 day flush with a res change and pure water. I'm only about 5% Amber trichromes and lots of cloudy. I wanted to wait longer but I really need more space as my Black Domina clone is becoming a monster. 8/30/21 Checked pH and added pure water 8/31/21 Checked pH and added pure water 9/1/21 Checked pH and added pure water 9/2/21 Checked pH and added pure water 9/3/21 Checked pH and added pure water 9/4/21 Emptied the bucket for a res change to pure pH water. I’m really sorry guys. I got real busy with work and all the plants. All I can say is I am still growing. I got a harvest off all my plants and I got lazy 😅 I pulled 9 dry ounces off this autoflower. I didn’t weigh it wet. Took me months to finish it off. Like the yellow Gatorade in flavor and smell. But sweet. Definitely an all day smoke but I just liked it and would smoke this till I would pass out. I couldn’t put it down until my Skywalker Kush was harvested then 🤷‍♂️

Hi man! Nice work and training! By experience i will not exceed 1.5 ec max with auto, i’ve got best results with some quite heavy feeder with 1.2/1.3 range in flowering with rock solid flowers
Aquemini
Aqueminicommented4 years ago
@MangoDudu, Actually I initially started out with 18/6, then went to 20/4, now I'm at 24. I noticed the first 4 weeks the roots grow faster with a dark period. But after the first 4 weeks a plant under 24 light will out grow that plant both above and below ground. After about 4 weeks the 24 hour plant roots blow past a plant under 18/6. That's just from my personal growing experience. I notice my plants only rest for about 2-3 hours and go right back to being perky the rest of the day. Also I should tell you I sleep 3 feet away from my tent and leave it wide open so we live in the same exact environment and lighting. I love growing and I'm obsessed about it and my plants. They live EXACTLY like I do, but they don't have to go to work lol.

@Aquemini, perfect mate! I know they convert the CO2 during the day but i know that the roots are more likely to grow overnight, they don’t need it but for a better future result is useful, but if you do only auto in perpetual you are fine
Aquemini
Aqueminicommented4 years ago
@MangoDudu, Actually I know a lot of people use 18 hours of light but if you do some research you'll learn Cannabis plants are C3 plants. They dont need a dark period unless your trying to flower a photoperiod. What your seeing is my veg tent and it runs 24 hours because I run seedlings, autoflower, and Feminized. I do a perpetual grow system. Thank you for the advice, I do appreciate it. I did find a way to convert my TDS to EC so thanks again for that! I also store my meters like you said and I literally adjust and calibrate them before every single use. I like to be 100% on point. From my experience plants grow a lot faster and stronger under 24 hours of light too. Google C3 plants it's very very interesting information conducted by professional growers and Universities.

Hey there, everything looks great! The best advice I can offer is with hydro less is more. I'm in week 5 of flower running 600ppm and thats dialed in. Check ppm daily to see if it's increasing or decreasing so you can dial in plants desired ppm.. If numbers rise nutes are too strong, if numbers fall bump up the nutes and if they stay the same you've hit the perfect number. A couple eye hooks in the tops of the net pots help with early trainning too! Be careful with the floralicious plus too, I find it gunks up my buckets and pumps and it stains the roots in a way that looks like root rot, I prefer diamond nectar for the humic and fulvic acids. Off to a good start mate, happy growing.
Aquemini
Aqueminicommented4 years ago
@Ner0z, Ok that's good to know. I have not done a res change yet honestly. I was going to only do 1 during transition to flowering unless I get lockouts or like you said a negative pH going. I add a little extra water everyday and try to keep my buckets at the same water level. I keep pre mixed 1 gallon bottles of nutrients for each bucket and top it off with those when ppm drops. I got a nice balance right now that seems to be working very well. Unfortunately with this method it's hard to keep up with how much there drinking, but eating nutes is consistently the same. I was really concerned about them over drinking because I'm in Southern California and it's been getting 100F lately. But I added that Armor Si before the heat wave and even at 85F they seem to be ok.
Ner0z
Ner0zcommented4 years ago
@Aquemini, excellent. It seems like you're pretty close to the sweet spot. I'd guess 650-700ppm would be stable. How it works is the plants will only take the nutrients they need out of the water, so if they are over fed they drink the water and leave the extra nutrients behind which then raises your resevoir ppm. If they are hungrier they'll eat more nutrients than water causing your ppm to drop. When it stays the same it means they're eating nutrients and drinking water at the exact same rate which is exactly what you want! I also use GHE nutes and ph rising is completely expected, if however you see it dropping its time for a res change, it could also mean root problems but it looks like you're straight cruising!

@Ner0z, Thank you, I really appreciate that! I am in week 4 at 600ppm, The plants drink water and lower the ppm anywhere from 10-25 ppm a day and the pH slowly climbs over 3-6 days. I've been giving them an under feeding on Floralicious Plus, but I did just bump it up a little too. I actually didn't know the PPM was best if it stayed about the same. I'll have to find that sweet spot! Luckily all my roots are very very white so far. I'll keep posting pics of them to see how long they stay that way. Honestly my res is on the darker brown side but hasn't turn the roots brown yet.

Nice jobb👍👍I have already removed 2 leaf from both 😂I will start earlyer in veg for the next grow👍

@Odin9, Thank you I appreciate it. I believe in heavy training and defoliation on Autoflowers. But I start way earlier then most people. You'll have to experiment and see what works for you. But never cut an autoflower that is small or growing slowly. Once it actually has some bud building on it you can cut any leaves away blocking nodes.

Good job lol time for heavy defoliation ? Hydro does recover super fast. One time i snapped a whole branch mid flower and still produced huge bud

@Lazuli, Actually I ended up just using duct tape and tapping it back on. It healed back onto the plant in 24 hours. So now I always tape broken branches and 99% of the time it heals. Other then that I'm normally pretty private and haven't had much problems. My landlord came over to do repairs once and stood right next to my tent and looked at it. He never even said anything, or even asked about it or anything. All I did was close it up so no light leaked and I turned my fans on low so they were silent. I even carried multiple plants/ clones and seedlings right passed them and they told me I had beautiful plants. So I think they don't even know what a Cannabis plant looks like lol.

@Aquemini,Yes, this is a pretty interesting method. I will watch your experiments, I think that the result will be good! 😉🤝👏

@SegaYGriega, Yeah running these 2 TS1000 are pretty amazing for veg. You can get really tight nodes, I decided to change methods now. I run 2 TS1000 with a Growers choice Master Pursuit 500w cmh with a 3K-R bulb. Definitely stretched the bottoms, but the stems and leaves are very strong and thick. Once it gets closer to the LEDS it starts making tight node spacing. So this will be great to clear my tent out and start filling my 4x4 with 1 or 2 plants and get scrog net and pull maximum yield.

@JamMAKEcan, I have done soil, but not coco. My theory was soil for flavor, DWC hydroponics for speed and yield. I'm trying to master the perpetual grow with only 1 tent that runs 24hrs, and a dark room for flowering.

great diary, shows me that the possibilities are endless. I am a total noob, had no idea you could even run a 24 hours schedule. Off to do more studying. Kudos Aquemini. Happy harvest to you when it comes, the frost looks beautiful. Great tune on the youtube vid too

@@Koto_420_UK, Thanks for the kind words, I truly appreciate it. I get really busy with 12 hour work days 6 days a week but I love growing and honestly I really enjoy trying new things and experimenting. I don't really do anything the same unless it turns out absolutely fantastic. I really appreciate you checking out my grow group Legion Of Roots on YouTube. It will be a channel of all my growing friends and myself. Were just learning about video editing lol.
