Spent about a week in a paper towel before being transferred into a rapid rooter in a small pot.
So far this strain has had a little slower of a germination time than I thought but happy to watch it progress regardless. Other than a bagseed the first strain I ever grew was Afghan Kush regular from World of Seeds (Afghan Kush is my favorite strain, naturally I got those beans first) so I was eager to try the special version. Of the few strains I have grown/am growing so far I am most excited for this! Hoping for a good grow but I have only completed a handful of harvests so I still have much to learn.
I pulled the seed shell off a little early resulting in the visible white tips on the cots. The pigment looks like it is slowly coming in/spreading. Overall the plant seems healthy.
Happy to see this one coming along, was worried I might have killed it when I helped pull the seed shell off the cots. Since the beginning of germination this seed has been moving along a little more slowly relative to the others in the tent but it’s been growing pretty consistently and now that the first leaves are coming it it seems to have sped up a bit. Going to add some canna rhizotonic later this week to help the root growth.
Updates will be a little slow for this week and into the next. Still the smallest plant in my tent currently but growing steadily and healthy. Might have given it just a bit too much Nitrogen this week
Happy with the results on this one so far. Topped it maybe a week ago now. I’ve been so busy with work and went on a lengthy vacation and sadly my plants have been a little neglected the past few weeks, hopefully now that i’m back onto regularly working with them they will get better/greener. Topped the plant for the second time on ends of the main 2 stems from the last topping. Defoliated a little this week too.
Solved my hard water issue for now. I wasn’t checking my starting water as much lately and assumed my water softener/filter was good to go but when I finally read what the tap water was i got a reading of 500ppm. Changed my filters out and now starting at <10ppm tap water. Ran a decent amount of runoff out of the plant but plan on giving this plant a proper flush with ~800-900 ppm nute solution this week. So far the plant has been topped twice.
Update after the flush, the plant is definitely doing a lot better. It is growing a lot faster now and currently is the biggest plant in the tent. Theres already a few inches on the side branches of the second topping sites. Purging the soil of excess salts and nutes showed a noticeable difference in growth rate. This is the strain I am most excited for this grow cycle
