Again, I used a RootIt! Cube to get this started but instead of going into a hempy it’s gone into a pot of soil. I bought a bag of bio biz’s light soil and will use my plant magic organic nutes. We will see which method is quicker/taster! It’s crazy hot here atm so the temps have gone up!

Update-10th July All is good so far. I over watered the first time round and the humidity doesn’t help it dry but it’s growing fine so I’ll give it a bit longer before I transplant than the coco plants

UPDATE - SUNDAY 18TH JULY OK so I definitely over watered and put it in a big starting pot but ill do what I did last time and dig some of the top soil away gently and replace it with new DRY soil and then it'll wick the moisture up from below. Also, the light is dimmed down to 25%, I hope thats enough to germ, as i'm trying to get a mimosa cake auto going also without much luck. Its odd some just get on with it really quickly and some DO NOT!

UPDATE -SUNDAY 25th JULY OK so the soil grow aka the orange sherbert auto is growing amazingly. Floorless transplant on all plants so far actually. I’m amazed that the soil grow is bigger and looks more healthy than the other two hempies but that should change over the next few days now that I have installed the dripper system to the coco pots. I was thinking about rigging another for the soil grows but when they get potted up to their 25l buckets they get watered like once a week if that. I have a feeling the soil will win out in veg but the ‘hydro’ will start overtaking as soon as the rooots reach the res as the bottom then BOOM! Sorry for the boring unimaginative photos I just find the early stages so tedious! I don’t know why I didn’t stagger them tbh I staggered one by a week.

UPDATE - MONDAY 2ND AUGUST This weeks been fine for the soil pots. From now on I am growing in soil using liquid organic feed. That is the easiest method of growing I have come across so far as long as you use loads of beneficials. Also I dont have to have a res with ph'd water in my kitchen (it wont fit in my grow room) with an air stone.

Update - Friday 13th August All is good. Pretty much set and forget now I have all my automation stuff in place. The hempies are working great now iv figured out how to use them with the auto waterer. I also have the out-take fan plugged into the thermostat so when it gets too hot it just blows some of the stale air out. I have a heater plugged into the other socket that just stands on top of my on light whilst being hung for security. We are getting pre-flowers on this one now. Starting to stretch out. The more I grow auto’s the more I think they flower when they are ‘ready’ rather than a set ‘timer’ built In to the plant. Iv fucked up a bunch of autos in veg cycle and they’ve just kept growing until they are ready to flower. Im not saying you can keep them in veg like photos but I don’t think they are nearly as sensitive as people make out. Well good ones anyway…

How many weeks do u think flowering before flushing? I want to flush for at least 2-3 weeks. When I did my purple lemonade and one of my lemon pie auto’s and you get a nice fade. It’s hard to know when to stop nutes and start plain water. I was thinking 3 weeks nutes + 2 water.

Different Strains will have different amounts of flowering time. I wait till most of the white hairs have turned brown and trichromes are getting cloudy.

Update- Week 6 This is by far the most advanced of the plants at the moment, hence why I marked it as flowering. You can clearly see its been in flower for a week or two without me paying much attention. THAT's how much set it and forget it these plants are. Once a week watering a quick check for shit growing on/into the soil and time to LST it to the sides of the pots after having either topped or mainlined it. Next time, im just going with the bio-bizz light soil.

Update - 23rd August Monday All is good. Just watering every other day really. It’s been really hot so iv needed to water more really. This is the one that is the most advanced in terms of growth stage though for sure. The hardest part, I find, personally, is distinguishing which strain is which strain in the photos I take! i am ALWAYS getting mixed up! These are actually right though, for sure!!

Update 30th August All good. I love soil grows as they just take cate of themselves and get really big. The only thing is I am in love with the idea of gravity, bottom fed systems and they all tend to be either coco, perlite or those Clayton balls. Im going to do a pot in pot in pot method hopefully. It will cut down on media as well as giving a pocket of air in the middle of the pot. Also I will be making a float valve to keep the water level so as long as there is water in my red and it’s positioned higher than the pots we are all good!

This plant is definitely still ripening up and I believe I started the flush a little too early thuis time, where as in the past I have left it a little too late! Oh well, its all looking good its just taking slightly longer for the trich's to ripen up and go nice and cloudy and amber. I'm not even using flash photography because sometimes that makes them l;ook white when they are clear because they reflect your flash.

Update. Just continuing to flush this baby. I love this cultivar. She smells so beautiful. Exactly as they described it on the website to be honest. I’d be interested to see how many others of the seeds are as similar to this. If that makes sense. I’m interested to see how similar they are genetically when they are grown out. She smells like skunky fermenting oranges. It’s lovely. This new light is gorgeous as well. The flowers on these plants are so much more dense and squeezable. You can actually pinch them and they don’t stay like that. U can’t really compact them much more. Will be really interested to see how it is when it’s dried!

Overall, I am really pretty happy with the orange sherbert. It was a pretty nice yield. The only thing I am a little concerned is that it will dry too quickly due to lower ambient temperature and humidity as I did a wet chop this time. I just got a bit carried away making it look neat! I think I need to stuff them in some jars for a couple of hours to draw the moisture from deep in the buds and stems to the outsides of the buds to hang again and get rid of it
