Nice mix from gorilla seeds freebies. Bought the Viva Sativa and got excellent freebies for christmas offers.
Germed 9 and got 7 good strong babies to nurture.
3x Viva sativa
1 Purple envy
1 Honeysuckle
1 Advance female knockout
1 Red Diesel.
Let the games begin. Used fresh ( spare) breast milk following a lot of reading, forums, guessing and wondering. Have a supply of unused aptimil with tons of nutrition for growing humans. How could i not fly this now !. Here goes 😀
Screen filling nicely and will use stretch to fill the gaps before flowers start showing.
Still no issue with smell or deficiency. Very healthy looking to date 😁 lets flip this !!
The difference between strains not creating too much of an issue but the knockout is a lot shorter than the other central plants. Might supercrop the middle plants. Still no issues using aptimil. A couple of white hairs showing near end of week so know all female for sure now.
All going very well and building size and shape nicely too. Still no signs of any overfeeding or deficiency issues . Can confidently say that so far adding the aptimil has no negative effect yet. Now has me wondering how just using aptimil as the base nute would fare. ?. Any comments suggestions , digs ( to a point. Lol ) more than welcome. Date is 22nd May and hoping harvest will be beginning of july if goes the full 9-11 weeks on the sativas. Slow bud growth on the knockout but stems look set up for bulk and lovely shape to the branching of it. Might be a good candidate for mainlining.
All going good and very healthy. Still no issues or nad smell from breast milk. No slimy deposits or salt build up in run off either.
So far cannot see any negatives to the aptimil used alongside normal nutes. Would be interesting to feed solely on breast milk substitute. Will try one lady on next crop to see.
Day 27 of flower today 29/05/18
Been a productive week for the buds i feel. Impressed with the Viva sativa golf ball buds so far. The knockout is a strange budset , definate females all round and no signs of gonads anywhere. ( except behind the camera !, it gets hot up there !)
Inroducing a low dose of pk 13/14 alongside the big bud coco, no signs of burn so far, so upping to half strength ready for week 5-6 pk only week. Then onto overdrive. Multi strain not too bad thanks to scrog but marked difference between Viva and the hybrids . The red diesel could go crazy if not managed and dominate the centre lighting. All in all , a happy farmer
Room smells sweet when i open the zips too now. Pics dont do it justice.
Day 44 (latest pics) in flower. Still got 2 weeks for the Viva sativa , Barneys Red Diesel and maybe the honeysuckle. The knockout is still looking very sparse compared to the other ladies so will leave her a while after. The Purple Envy is an 11 week possibly ( if left to full period) so she is staying in a little longer.
The Red Diesel and the Purpke envy have been amazing so far. The Diesel is an easy to manage and train strain that is producing some hefty buds now. With backbuilding and still two weeks left, i think she will be one of the top producers tbh.
I will be re vegging the Barneys Red Diesel , honeysuckle and deffo the Purple Envy.( she is amazing and has a big footprint even under scrog) clones for mothers will be taken of these beauties. This grow had been a great leaning experience so far. A few techniques tried amd tested along the way with decent results. Lets see what the overdrive can help produce before the flush. As for the breastmilk. Next crop one plant will be fed on this alone as nutes in coco .
The future is bright for these girls. Roll on harvest.
at 9 weeks buds coloured up nicely and def ready to harvest too. this strain was not too hard to work with but yield was not too good. may be my environment and skills but looked like she would yield better than the 96.86g/ 3.3oz mark as she was growing. long gaps between buds may have been a part of that but the buds are well formed and beauties up close. smoke is still in need of cure for full flavour but definate up feel to the stone. all in all not too bad. i feel a full scrog and space to herself could have got better from her.
she took to training with no issues and never showed any signs of overfeeding or deficiency issues throughout the grow. her buds spacing is a little too long for my height issues but in the right space she could be a keeper. supported herself well without canes or holding up. smoke is very nice but in need of a cure i think for full benefit. one for experience bit wont do thisnone again.
As a replacement for a preferred order ( afghan cow) , to grow has been no issue at all. took well to L.S.T and did not skip a beat throughout the grow. did well under scrog and the stretch was helpful and not our of hand. her buds are very compact and solid once dried properly. she smells very strongly of old school skunk too. a solo crop under a scrog would be give great yields if threaded correctly too. doing her as part of a multi strain has not done her justice i feel. All in all i still have 5 beans of her sisters left but the swing between phenos could also create a Multi-strain canopy like issue. The first harvested lady had very different structure to her two sisters. a lot shorter and more bushy. all variables the same but diff pheno i think.
i love grow diaries app and find that it puts you in touch with a great resource of information from live grows and plenty of "out there" ideas and techniques to play with. This app has by far outweighed others i have used , if only the " weeks issue " could be resolved on the diary. also ability to add daily updates could be usefull. waiting a week to update is frustrating when changes can occur more frequently.
This strain is an easy grow with no real excitements to throw you off track. needs at least 2 weeks in full veg in my room so lesson for next try with her but overall for part of a multi strain spa e restricted ongoing grow 9.5 oz dry from these three girls is not too bad
This lady has been a pleasure to nurture. She was very eady to train and strong enough to not falter in growth rate either. her bids fattened nicely and responded well to back building too. she produced a good number of "tops" to manage and drool over. a definite crop of this needs doing soon. Well done to Barneys Farm for this genetic beauty. Her pics throughout the grow have shown the quality of this strain and breeder. In a more skilled farmer , and better environment, they would be amazing.
using grow diaries and recieving so much info and access to a whole world of other growers , is invaluable. I have made an amazing contact with Barneys Farm thanks to the app and am now sponsered for my next grow coming very soon. a bonanza of their cup winners to enjoy , kindly donated by them. amazing breeder.
The Red Diesel is a winner in my opinion. easy to grow, easy to maintain and feed too. Her growth rate is above average i feel and in a better environment , i feel it would fly. 130g from 1 plant with the small space among the other plants, i feel is not too shabby at all.
week 7 now ( 50 days in flower yesterday). have loved this grow with lots of trying new stuff. The star sobfar is rhe Barneys Red diesel. such a hardy strain and had responded well to all i threw at her. her buds look beautiful and compact with some edible looking colours emerging. very frosty and sticky too now. will be revegging her without a doubt. The Purple Envy is getting big now too and i reckon will be the yield winner for this one. she still has 4 weeks left to hammer the weight on too. Viva sativa has been easy to grow too , not a lot needed for her to crack on and grow. buds look very good amd will be interesting to see yields as they are very tacky too.
The Honeysuckle has nice buds but is not looking like a big producer ywt.2 weeks left on her can changeit mahbe. The knockout has still to prove itself with stringy buds just starting to fill out.
lowering nutes on Viva now ready for last 3 days flush on sunday. fingers crossed it smokes as nice as it looks
Week 8 in flower day 56. had a mini harvest of the smallest Viva Sativa (curing) and it smokes very nice. no harshness from not flushing ( fed up to chop) . The trichs looked very ready but since dried there are a lot of clear ones still so am glad have left her sister Viva's going an extra one week. The Barneys Red Diesel is so tight budded it would crunch like an apple if i dare bite it !. This plant is still making me grin when i go into the room. she looks amazing and smells so strong of diesel and refresher sweets. heading for the 9 weeks mark and hoping she finishes near to it so i can sample her. a definate future grow too. The Honeysuckle is maturing sweetly and still going with white hair growth so am waiting patiently for her too.
knockout has bounced back and is supposed to be a 7 week+ strain but maybe the nutes mix needed more tailoring for her specific needs. she was short for vegging period but is also only one in a 20 ltr plastic pot !. spacey airy buds now so will leave her to go on a little. The Purple Envy is still very steady on her journey and still got at least three weeks to go. finishing her pk soon and onto Overdrive for her then. i expect her harvest to be very good . The whole grow began from getting so many freebies for buying from Gorilla Seeds. I wanted Afghan cow and got the Viva with extra seeds ( ordered 5 and along with freebies got 18 different seeds) as a replacement for the afghan which had run out. amazing service. thank you. And here we are days from main harvest. learnt a lot about my current environmental hurdles and a few great tricks from other users and growers. happy days. enjoy the pics.
day68 of flower for these two ladies. I have harvested the Barneys Red Diesel (4.5oz dry), the Viva Sativa (9.5 oz dry from 3 plants) and the Honeysuckle (3.4oz dry) so am hopeful on matching this with these long flowering girls. The Knockout was supposed to be ready in 7 weeks but is not showing signs at all of being ready with tons of fresh pistils still sprouting. her size is getting bigger too so i think she may go the full 11 weeks + alongside the Purple Envy. The Purple is still not coloured up yet so i am assuming she is not quite close enough yet. her size is good and between them they now have 1200watts hps to bask in. now i have smokable product again i am keen to get moving on my next project. A Barneys Farm Bonanza cup strains grow. seeds kindly donated by Barneys Farm for a diary grow. ( amazingly generous and respected breeder) .
she smells beautiful. bery strong "juicy fruit" smell and a very smooth smoke. not eye closing heavy at all , very up and active high. The seed write up says " ready at 6 weeks" but her buds at that point were so small comoared to the other plants , that i considered pulling her out. I thought she was struggling to keep up with the other strains but this was due to her initual griwing phase. she stretched quite late ( about 4 weeks into flower) andd her buds used the full 11 weeks. Definate leaning towards the Sativa pheno more than indica. she outgrew all but one of the othwr strains. want a whole crop of these soon.
This stain has amazed me.with her size and overall finish. huge colas ( even though grown alongside talller) and the structure she used was ideal with just a couple of toppings. love this strain now.
well here we are. two days before the official full 11 weeks in flower mark !!. been a long haul and feel like forever waiting for them to finish. Have now put them on a full flush and will be watching them both closely over the coming days
The Purple Envy is still not changed colour yet and is being over shadowed by the Knockout in sheer bud size. The knockout smells so fruity and her nugs are plenty big enough , if not a bit hairy. The Purple has been slowly putting weight on but has not appeared to changed a lot in the past few weeks
want to get to the end now for final harvest weights. New project looming with RDWC and donated Barneys Farm bonanza grow so need to get movinf onto them now. lol. want to finally try a crop in a comp now one completed too. fingers crossed. lol.... next post will hopefully be harvest pics amd final weights. happy days
day 77 of flower for the two remami ing ladies. Purple envy ( named through not seeing a touch of purpke anywhere at 11 weeks ???) Still popping out white hairs and looking like it could go on forever. lots of briwn hairs and looks frosty enough for cloudy trichs , so will be pulling her tonight ( 20th july).
The knockout on the other hand has blown me away with her amazing catch up and now overtaking by a mile. her buds are very good size and smells sweet. To touch , she leaves a sticky residue on your fingers so will be making hash from the trim. i am suprised by her finish and never thought that she would turn out so well. still a lot of white hairs all over the buds forming too. She was supposed to be a 7 week+ strain but at 11 weeks and still going ......fingers crossed she finished soon. need to get on with new grow so badly.lol
wow. What a suprising finish to this whole strain race. The Purple has not come out at all and doesnt show any signs of appearing from the cure either. i think having slightly higher daytime ( lights off) temps than when lights were on , may be the reason ? .
The smoke is not harsh and very floral tasting. can feel her Indica genetics when smoking her too. Her growth was amazing and she was by far the biggest and most dominant of the strains. yield was good too for her at just over 6oz (179g)
her node lengths were very far apart but the tops are solid.
dried , she smells very skunky if not a slightly ak47 scent to her.
an enjoyable grow with a lot of tips amd tricks tried and tested. learnt a fair bit about each stage ( as we all do each grow) of the grow and read some amazing articles and grow diaries along the way.
hi PharmaZ . pic 3 is from the knockout. really hard dense nugs from her. the purple on finish is the same too. i think hps does tend to help with this over l.e.d imo. she yielded just over 6oz in a multi strain grow , which is more than i expected because of how she grew. taste is bang on too. a def future crop.
@ashcuk101, I agree HPS does help making dense buds. I’m putting mine back on a timer for 10hrs a day in flower. So I’ll have the LED on for 20 and HPS on as well for 10 hours. That will be a good mix
sorry been wasted for days lol. the smome.and stone is very nice. quite an UP high and can function. numbs my tastebuds with the strength of flavour too. not harsh at all kust strong diesel and sweets smell to it. thanks for stopping in fella.looking forward to the knockout and Purple envy now. days to go before chop. yeeeeeeha.
the diesel is amazing to grow. wish i had a full crop of it now. i backbuilt ( snipped top off) and rhe day after she had swelled back down the whole bud. it is very strong too and can take a fair bit of bending and training without too much slowdown. has overtook most of the other strains by a mile in possible weight. 15 days left now. smells beautiful too. like a ram-raided petrol station with the diesel and fruity smell. lol. am revegging her for clones and a harvest again. good luck mate. u wont regret getting this strain. updating later so can show more diesel growth. peace
@DILLIGAF,I am big fan of milk mate. uaed it to keep bud rot managed in my current crop. It forces spores to reproduce with themselves only so stops it transferring.
They were all fed on fresh ( spare) breastmilk alongside basic nutes . moved on to aptimil as our baby weaned and didnt feel able to ask to keep supply chain going for my other girlies.lol. They never blinked during its use as you can see from the diary. a future "aptimil only diet" is on the cards following next sponsored grow. Milk ( @20% ratio) in general as a foliar spray is great for killing soft bodied pests alongside feeding too
the whole crop turned nearly 30oz In total. Best to date. The breastmilk was a suprise too. am hoping i can nail this dwcr now so i can crack in getting the Hulkberry and critical in and growing.
@@grzesiek,
she was more uppy than stone. didnt sap energy or induce sleep but didnt feel low thc at all. was a good strain to grow and stays fairly short and bushy.
