Week 1: The seed took about 17 hours to open. I poured the seed onto a paper towel for another ~24hours till the tap root was about 1/4”. The seed was planted into the medium.
Week 2: Trying to be anal about VPD. Feeding nutrients every watering, PPFD/DLI is not dialed in just following the manuals recommended light distance. Humidifier on the outside of the lower right vent and AC Infinity helps maintain RH %.
Week 3: Roots started getting bigger so I moved the plant to a bigger pot. Watered too frequently so algae began forming on the topsoil surface, note the black cover. Started LST early.
Week 4: Started adding Humboldt Secret Golden Tree at 600 ppm. The plant started bushing out from the LST so I defoliated whatever green wasn't getting any light and to expose light to smaller nodes. I was planning on topping this week but to my surprise the plant had created a third axil/node and axillary branch.
Week 5: Plant is starting to grow outwards from topping, slowed vertical growth. I released the LST for now so that the new top nodes and axillary branches will get light.
Week 6: Pinch and bent main shoot, some branches too. Using bending wire to LST and keep the canopy low. I'm noticing strange symptoms like cut leafs/deformed (no sign of pests).
Week 7: Environment has changed since I'm trying hydro in the same 2x2 tent, VPD has gone slightly up since I'm germinating seeds in the same tent too.
Week 8: Just letting the plant grow and continuing to LST and keep the canopy even, defoliating every other day to keep optimal airflow. Trying to manage VPD for both the seedlings in the hydro and the MAC Larry OG.
Week 9: I expected the plant to be much larger by now but given the amount of stress being put on the plant. The stems are rock hard, very difficult to pinch and bend unless on newer growth. No deficiencies so far but i could be wrong.
Week 11: Plant was moved to a different location, I ended up catching my kitchen on fire so the kitchen is being remodeled and my house is unavailable to grow at.
Week 14: Unruly growth due to unfortunate circumstances, increased ppm to 850. Started to get fungus gnats at new location. Applied diatomaceous earth and BTi.
Week 16: Increased ppm to 1100, topped two days before flipping to Day 1 flowering on June 4th. The main stalk split when i put the SCRoG on. (I didn't notice til Week 20).
Week 20: Coming along nicely with the growth, snapped off some yield due to poor LST/HST (grower error). Strange leaf symptoms, deficiencies/toxicities starting to kick in around Day 143 in soil.
Week 23: Part of the plant has been stunted or the roots are having trouble in the soil. I haven't figured out the cause of the problems but I'm guessing it is a mix of stress, from when I split the main shoot first week of flower, nutrient burn/toxicities, fungus gnats/pests. Other than the foliage problems the buds are filling in nicely and the hairs are beginning to turn from white to orange.
Week 28: Watering every 3 days with 3 gallons of water, nutrients at 650 ppm. leaves are dying, some are fading and others have deficiencies. Some buds have swollen stacked calyxes bursting open with fire orange pistils covered in frost. I think these buds could go another 2 weeks but depending on the circumstances I might have to chop early.
Week 30: Trichomes are cloudy and clear. I’m hoping the buds that look “leafy” fill in and stack with calyxes but they are taking quite a while, idk if the plant may be stunted.
I’m considering going till September 16th, which will be the 16th week of flower but if I don’t see any noticeable differences by the 9th I’m chopping.
