Quick rinse in H2O2 to soften the shells. Then into water over night. After that it was paper towels till the tap root dropped. All three seeds sprouted for a 100% germination rate.
The veg stage is pretty boring, so I'm capturing most of the data in the photos... does anyone really care anyway? This only gets interesting when they start to stretch :D

The main goal was to get them all topped before going outside.

A bit soon... nights are still too long... lesson learned... April is too soon. Must wait till May at least... even if you can keep them warm and protected from frost... they still need light or they'll switch to flowering too soon... :-(

This only gets interesting when they start to stretch :D Okay they are in the ground... next up... flowering photos. They were in kinda rough shape going into the ground due to gnats in the grow room. Off to a rough start.
So we survived the veg stage in spite of accidentally triggering early flowering in April... by June they were re-vegged phew! I was only planning to grow one of this variety, but then my husband took one of the runty seedlings and put it in the ground next to the rhubarb. He didn't want to let it go to waste. It's a small plant but it is worth noting :-) This is a fast flowering variety, and *almost* keeping pace with the FastBuds fast lowering. This variety has terrible mildew... of all the plants in the garden, this one is the worst. I've had to trim a lot of her fan leaves.

This variety has terrible mildew... of all the plants in the garden, this one is the worst. I've had to trim a lot of her fan leaves. And now this weekend, we've had to spray her down with milk+water mix. She has prolific flowering... and the flowers popped out early. We are going to have to deal with the mildew this week or she's not going to make it.
Mildew treatment this week. She's a huge plant with loads of buds, but I'm not entirely sure she's gonna make it. Fingers are crossed. Bu the way... spraying milk on a plant this size during the heat of the day is nasty business. It stinks like sour milk and it makes you all sticky. Eww. Only plant #1 has the mildew. Plant #2 does not...
So, these White Russian fast flowering seeds were sent to me by Crop King Seeds (aka Rocket Seeds) when I won the Purple Kush photo contest. They sent me a bunch of Crown Royal seeds along with a bonus hand-full of these. I germinated a few of these and we ended up putting two in my garden. Well... I had originally planned to only put one in the garden, and I was going to give the other plant away, but my husband took pity on the tiny root bound seedling and stuck it in the ground beside the rhubarb plant. Plant #2 is the runt of the litter....
However, both plants are completely full of flowers. Not huge fat buds, but tight helixes of buds that cover each stem from apex down to the main stem.
Plant #1 is struggling with mildew... I suppose that part of the garden doesn't get enough air circulation, and the plants are more crowded than they should be. I put in fewer plants this year, and I put more distance between them... I thought that would mean they would have more space... but instead the all grew bigger and so they were just as crowded as before. I mean... we have the same canopy size with fewer seeds, so that's good. The nether regions of the plants are still pretty bare... I'll try fewer still next year...
The milk + water (40:60 mix) worked well, but it needs to be repeated regularly. It's a fairly simple cure, and it doesn't involve commercial soapy products... so that makes me happy.
Plant number two has no mildew and is growing well even though she's the runt.
Flowering started earlier on this plant but the buds don't seem to be getting fat. There will still be plenty of yield, but the physical characteristics of this plant are different from the others. Actually... now that I think about it... this plant really resembles my Crop King Seeds Purple Kush... not as heavy on the yield per se. However, she still has time to ripen up.
It's not over yet.
I think she's almost ripe... even though the buds aren't fattening up... I think she's got another week or two at the most. I've started looking at the trichomes and they are starting to turn. It's early days, but it's starting.

Week 11. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!
Crop King Seeds - White Russian - Custom Breeder & Strain
This fast flowering photoperiod strain is perfect for new growers and growers in the north where the summer is short and the cold sets in early October. The plants are resistant to light stress and to disease.
I started this plant indoors in March. I hardened them off and put her outside in late April under a plastic shelter to protect her from the cold. The thing I didn't account for was the fact that in April the days are still very short in Ontario. The result was that the plants in my garden all went into flowering!! I had no idea that it could happen, and it took me a while to figure out the source of the problem. They were hardened off and brought out of 18 hrs of light, and put into the garden when the days were still too short. She tolerated the cold, and even a dusting of snow... but there just wasn't enough sunlight. So by mid May she had flipped to flowering! I was so disappointed, and I thought my grow was going to be a total write off. You'll notice I missed a few weeks in this diary during this period because I was sure the grow was done for. Rather than rip the plants out, I decided to just sit back and watch to see what would happen. And then, as the days got longer the plants went back into veg... by the time the summer solstice rolled in, the plants were starting to shoot up new growth... but the leaves were all single blades until they started to stretch for flowering. This is when I started the photo diary back up.
In the end this plant offered a bazillion smaller flower growing up each cola in a tight helix. As you can see it was a good yield. We did find a LOT of seeds, but considering the light stress, and the fact that there is at least one neighbour in my area that leaves his male plants to grow (he's a total idiot IMH thinking he's 'breeding' in an uncontrolled outdoor environment) the seeds don't come as a huge surprise to me. I'm also not really concerned... whatever. I'm just glad that my plant survived LOL.
Bottom line, I highly recommend these genetics...
Smoke report: We have got these buds in the cure so its kinds of hard to do a proper smoke report, but early signs point to a solid hybrid, with a nice heady high mixed with increased focus. The buds taste like delicious lemonade... The munchies are strong with this one... so vape or smoke it BEFORE supper... and your meal will taste absolutely delicious... whatever you make or how much you overcook it LOL.
This variety is a solid choice.
