Howdy and g'day. Mr_Death_himself here. Thanks for stopping by. As this is my first diary, it may be a bit of read & a little jumbled at times so please bear with me. This is my first grow in something like nearly 20 years. I'd never heard of autos before i started looking at growing again. Seeds online! What an age :) I picked an auto because i just wanted to grow & learn about the stages of the plant without my input. Ie, preflowering and flowering, when to harvest etc. without needing to worry about flipping and schedules. Autos seemed like a good way to learn what to look for. I'd been reading up on equipment & tried to get the best of what i could on a budget. This build took over a year to get everything started. I've bought a few things along the way, & i still need a few more things to get me to harvest. I wanted to make sure i had the basics to start but not get caught out by fluctuating ph or a very hot dry tent. I picked Growers Choice Seeds because of 3 things, good reviews, they shipped to Australia, & the other choice never arrived (twice). I tried out germination straight into an EazyPlug. I heard they were suppose to be great a retaining enough moisture to germinate without drowning, & had enough nutrients in the plug itself to sustain a seedling. It worked! 2/8 One has broken the surface. Keeping her moist mmm 4/8 Transplanted to top feed. Just ph'd mineral water, nothing more. Should be an easy week. The tent is all running, I'm working out how to keep my temps & humidity under control & where to put fans plus the rest. I love it. 7/8 Finally the 2nd sprouted!

11/9 Week 2- Seedling week. Not sure how to change the 2nd germination week at the top after i slipped, so I'll call it seedling week here. Just going for it really. The first to pop is going strong so I've got a diary happening i reckon. I'll keep the 2nd going, but she's not looking to good. Really slow growth and compact. I'll focus on the 1st and cut the 2nds nutes. I tried half dose of nutrients when the first serrated tips fully formed but I noticed the tips turned yellow within the hour. I dumped out the feed, put fresh water in with just CalMag & Ph'd it. She came good, burning stopped. She's a bit little atm, sticking with CalMag, it's nitrogen based anyway. The week ended with a happy young lady showing off a new node and leaves. Looking good.

18/8 Week 3. So today i started my feeding schedule. My first attempt at feeding was a little early, so i've held off till now and only given her half the recommended dose on the label. I mix the nutes the day before, put an airstone in, let sit overnight. On feed day, i pH, let sit for an hour, test, change, observe. She took it, & started to really show a definite pickup throughout the week. My nutrient choice, I went with the Terra Aquatica TriPart. It's the General Hydro Flora trio with the new branding. Same old formula that has worked for years. As for the roots, I went with Nimbin Nutrients White Rhino Mycorrhizae beneficial bacteria. The dosage is actually 1g per 8ltrs, which is fantastic value considering the cost of a 600g tub. Knot Bhad. I'll only use 1.5g per 12ltrs, & use it every time I change the reservoir. I figure the bacteria will build up in the plumbing, substrate, & roots enough to form a colony even with regular water changes. I'll let you know in a couple of weeks what i think of it.

25/8 Week 4 Begins It's all starting to happen. She's taking her nutes real well, still at half. She's also loving the training. Got a real lean happening. I'm hoping to shape her to the pot if i can. It's starting to get hot here, keeping the tent cool is priority one. I'll check in a couple of times a day to make sure all is well in there. May need to find a way to keep the tent cool.

1/9 Week 5. I'm going to try a full dose of nutrients this week. Her PH has been fluctuating a lot and i thinks it's due to the nutes getting used up so quickly. I had a bucket ready to go with half dose just incase, but after an hour of observation, she showed no signs of burn. Phew! Now we can full dose the rest of the grow. 3/9 She must like the nutes, she's been real thirsty. Had to top up two litres today. Put me over my fill mark, but she'll drink it down. 6/9 more water topped up. Just fresh PH'd as a new week is near

8/9 Week 6- stating the obvious here, she's BOOMING! Explosive growth. I train, i trim, i wait watch the boom, repeat. You can actually see her getting bigger throughout the day. It's a nice surprise when i peel back the window cover. I'm training & tweeking her tie downs nearly everyday now. I have no real idea if she is at the growth stage/rate she is meant to be, but she's definitely happy. I think i need to do a comparative grow, doing nothing vs training. But I reckon I couldn't help myself to trim and tidy lol

15/9 Week 7 begins. Went with vegie nute mix. I'm thinking she'll be preflowering later this week or next so I'll change the nute mix ratio the day that happens. But who knows, I'm trying to not stress her too much other than defoliation. 18/9 letting her relax, stretch out, & grow a little. 20/9 Relaxing is over, more LST lol I'm trying to just flatten out every stem coming off my main branches. My goal isn't to get all the colas flat, that's not going to happen, but rather just expose as many bud sites as possible. I'm getting as much training in now before the flower stretch.

22/9 The Mrs birthday today, love you buby, & Week 8 starts. Just a water change today. Nice & easy, i remembered to check no tie downs were stuck to the pot this time, so no heart in mouth moments. Overall I'm very pleased with her growth after training & triming a few leaves. She keeps on booming. Not doing anything today, she can have a fresh drink, soak up the rays, and relax. I'm expecting a big day of training tomorrow :) 23/9 Big DAY. Took some measurements today to just put into perspective what I've achieved so far. From the top of the EazyPlug to the top of the new growth tips (not the leaves), she's 28cm. Holding ruler straight up, nothing is taller than 15cm (not including leaves). I don't include the leaves as they're not considered structural to me. So I've manged to hold her down about 13cm. Sideways growth is just as impressive. Tip to tip biggest, 48cm, skinny, 38. Straight line, at her largest, 40cm, 32cm at her skinny. Again, happy with the training. Spent a little over an hour training & fine tuning this morning. I really hope it's worth it. The undergrowth is impressive. I really interestedsee what i get without topping or mainlining. They can always get done on any grow. Letting her grow out is taking its time, but hopefully the harvest makes up for it. Apparently I've got 11 weeks of flowering to look forward to yet, yay. 26/9 I love this community. Thanks to Papa_T i can now see i am in preflower. So, as i said earlier, nutes have now been changed. I will show this in the new week. Gave her a trim & some final training today. If i can help myself, I'll let her grow out for the week. I'm expecting a lot of upward growth now. Thanks Papa_T

You can eat them but they aren't very good. You can juice them, but the juice isn't very good. You can use them as a fun garnish when cooking but they don't do much for flavor so it's only for their appearance. Or, I just throw them on the compost pile.

29/9 Week 9. Looking at another hot week coming up. My PH is under control, fluctuates from 5.4 to 6.2 throughout the day, really happy as I've heard complaints about chasing PH. I figure there's enough food in there that it keeps a steady level naturally, has been since full dosing. I found the ph to rise right up when she powered through the half doses as she got bigger. She's at a steady level and happy. Keeping the tent cool is the goal now, looking at hot days ahead. So not much to do today except take a few pics. Papa_T was right, she's preflowering. I've change the nute mix to preflowering. I'm pretty sure it's just an in between ratio so it's not such a shock. She is stinky, very stinky. I've got the exhaust running 24/7 now on low, you can't smell anything on the outside, but when you open her up, BAM! STINK!. Very strong, skunky smell, little bit fruity, but more pungent. Very very happy so far. 30/9 Couldn't help myself. She was starting to cover up all of her spawn points so i gave her a good trim. 2/9 no pics today. Figured out how to keep the tent cool in the shed today. Portable A/C. Set the exhaust fan to run a little higher, aim the aircon unit towards the corner of the shed, Presto! Cold air coming through the bottom vents. Keep the tent at 26 while the sheds 32. At this point, what I'm paying a fortnight for this stuff, i can afford to run the aircon if i can get good yields. 3/9 Shed reached 36c today, tent went to 28, a/c went down to 22c. It's working!!

Looks like it got a little to hot for her. This shows from the curling up of the serrated edges of the leaves Plus new growth starts to twist. Now that you are in flower her nutrient needs will be picky. You should be doing a full water change every week to make sure she has a balance of what is needed. Her leaf tips are a little burnt so you might want to slightly lower the nutrient concentration to avoid burn. Happy Growing

6/10- week 10 I was a bit slack this week. Not much for me to do as evrrything is running without dramas. I fixed the overheating, and have a permanent solution. I can cool the tent down to 26 and keep it there by varying the exhaust speed. I will be changing my light schedule when i can, going to get hot here in oz. The shed got to 38 2 days ago. Thinking 4am -4pm off, 4pm-4am on. It will most likely keep the tent cooler due to no radiant heat, but if shit goes sideways and gets hot, i gotta fix it with a shut trnt if duting the day. My current schedule is set for plant managability, i can work on her any time I'm awake, or kids are at school etc. I'm blabbering on here, sorry. She looks fantastic. I gave her a massive 2hr defol session on the 5/10 & by today you can hardly tell. Lots of bud spawn points as far as i can see, please correct me if I'm wrong. Stuck the runt in as a comparison. 2nd plant germinsted 2 days after 1st, never took of. Couldn't kill, stuck outside, she's no Andre, but I'll get a session. Both plants same age really, massive difference between a healthy seedling and a runt.

13/10 Week 11 begins. We've had a bit of cooler weather here and some rain, so temps in the shed the past few days have been lower and humidity has been up. Nothing drastic with the humidity in the tent, only maxed out at 68%. Really happy. Today has started the same, and it's expected to last a couple more days, hopefully. Won't be a huge problem this week if it gets hotter, I've made some changes to the setup today. I'm trying to get some seedlings going, & for the past month, not luck. So, I'm lowering the output on my MarsHydro TSW2000 to it's minimum setting, i think 25%, and going to try sprouting in there after I've transferred from the papertowel. It's so hard to tell if the dial on my driver starts at 25% as its just a screw, & it doesn't take much to wind it to max. So it is really hard to gauge what % I'm sitting on. So we're chilling this week until the replacements come through and i setup a seedling esky (thanks DownUnderNugz for the idea). It'll only be until the girls can handle the light increase if they sprout. So this week I'm letting my girl grow if i can help it. 1 defol if i can help it. I'm not expecting much growth after lowering the light output. She is really filling out her spawn points now. Not really thickening at the moment, but they are definitely getting taller. Comparing to the runt with sugar leaves, when she fattens up they're gonna be nice. So just a clean of the tent and a top up of the reservoir today. Reservoir took just under 4 ltrs to fill after a reservoir change on 10/10. That's all for now i reckon. 17/10. Light is back to full. No seeds popped from plugs.not happy. Could this all be a fluke?

20/10- week 12 So today is the 21st, i was a bit busy yesterday and missed starting the week. She is looking good to me. I'm no expert so any feedback on her progress would be appreciated my peers. She's got numerous spawn points that are slowly stretching up still. I honestly pictured the colas getting taller a little faster, but what do i know? The smell is pungent. Wouldn't say fruity, but gets right in your nose. Almost fresh batshit, if that makes sense. Some of the roots in the reservoir are thicker than some of the smallest branches, it really is incredible to see. Just waiting now. I did defol on the 18/10, she has recovered and i don't reckon I'll need to do another for a week at least. Lol we'll see. Any feedback from you fellow growers would be appreciated. Are the colas/buds forming right? Looking healthy? Cheers

Understanding PPM. Today was a top day, so i took the chance to try out reading ppm's. I had 2Ltrs of mineral water. Ppm 95. I added my CalMag at 1.5mL/L (3mL) Ppm 304. Continued through each nute, got total of 950. I can add more food right? This should match 12L reading right?

just to add some confusion to the situation is ppm are a bad way of measuring. @gmslave most likely has a ppm meter that uses a 0.5 scale while the 1100 ppm could be on a 0.7 scale which is 800 on the .5 scale. EC is god and is what all ppm metera read then convert. Much of the U.S. will experience a 0.50 conversion ratio, whereas many other parts of the world utilize a 0.64 and even 0.70 conversion ratio. look at the table at the bottom of this link. https://dutchmasternutrients.com/growers-guide/ppm-vs-ec/ oh and ppm/ec only tells you where you are with the feed, all plants will eat differently so its best to use ppm as a guidance and more learn how to look at the plant to see what is asking for Happy Growing

Week 13- 27/10 28/10- hopefully another easy week. Temps hsve been stable with the a/c setup. Shed still gets hot, but tent is staying even 26c. So I'm trying understand PPM so i can understand feedi g for my next plant. So far i can give a full dose of nutes and my PPM stays under 1100, sits on 950-955. Interesting points, cannazym doesn't increase ppm as much as i thought it would, nor mycorrhiaze. I added Proffessors Nutrients Organic Terpene Gold to my feed mix, it decreased PH, & decreased ppm on intial addition of 1/8 dose, & slowly increased as i went full dose. Looking forward to my buds as i csn kinda see what they look like now. Just hoping that I'm fattening and juicing them up right. Loving the growth. Still trying to germinate another couple of plants but my seeds aren't going and further that shooting a 2mm taproot. I've putchased a heat mate, full spectrum led light, & mini greenhouse. Fingers crossed i can get some growth happening as I'm losing my s@#$ over how many failed attempts I've had in the past 2 months. 31/10- Trimmed up today. Took a couple of hours. Tweeked some tie downs. Hopefully that'll let a bit more air & light into the centre. Changed up her feed mix today. Went half dose at 557ppm. Trying out less is more Overall i think she's looking great.

3/11- Week 14 Begins 4/11- i reckon she's doing alright. After opening her up with a little lst on the weekend, i can clearly see kola. I am so glad i just trimmed leaves and trained. Sooo many spawn points! The smell is so strong you can get faint wiffs even when the exhaust is sucking hard. I'll start using professor's nutrients bloom booster soon. My Mrs has named the CP runt Kevin, cause kevin is trying. I'm blown away by the quality of bud getting produced by a runt. The gorilla glue runt got givrn the name little g. Her bud is still getting bigger as well. The colours are beautiful. I wish this wasn't a runt.

10/11 Week 15 begins :) She is still pumping a few calyxes on top of her flowers and getting taller. I'm a little concerned about it as I'm getting a few round leaves with that growth, not serrated. I hope it's normal. Keeping a real eye on her as we're at the home stretch now. I'll be adding some bloom booster to her feed on Sunday. This is suppose to add some bulk and help ripen. I'm down for some fatter buds. Her smell is amazing. Very pungent with some fruity tones. Not much to do but keep n eye on temps, this new growth, a feed on Sunday, & tend to the future crop. Some Gorillas have appeared in the Jungle to keep her company in her last few weeks. Kevin is on the bloom juice already. She's surprised me by bulking out as well. She's still getting growth on top and fattening out as well. Kevin is going to finish up real soon and I'll cut n dry. Lil g has been getting boosted too. Cannot wait to get fubar'd on my own gear. 13/11- Mixed up the feed today. I'm using rainwater I've been saving as mineral water is getting expensive on my budget. I collected the batch I'm using on the 24/10, & I've tested pH and ppm before i mixed the feed - 5.4 & 006. PPM is nearly nothing. Every bottle I test comes out out at 006-008. pH is usually around 4.8-5 straight out the downpipe and goes to around 5.8-6.2 after resting a few weeks. I also found that after i added the bloom booster at half dose 1g/4L, i kept ppm to under 700, 696 which I'm really happy with. Less is more. Nutes are all at half the recommended dose except for the bloom part, I increased it slighty since flower started, .05mL/L i think. More growth on top of buds. Feed tomorrow. 14/11- Feed day. Tried a new refill process today in prep for the gorillas. Had to add an extra step, I had to refill the same reservoir instead of switching it out with a fresh one. I just sat my girl on an empty bucket, simple. Roots were strong and healthy. A huge fat ball. During my check up today I've realised I've gotta pull this lady apart to get some air to the centre. I've managed to get tonne of mini kolas(?) (Thai sticks lol) out from my main kolas, but they're getting so fat that they're touching and restricting each others growth & airflow around the buds. I'm contemplating harvesting some smaller inner buds if i cannot open her up by pulling down some kolas. Running out of tie down points. I really don't want bud rot right now as i have such dense growth. I think I'm going to get more bud than i anticipated. If i can get this lower growth fatter, f@#$ me! I'll find some gloves and see what i can do. She's so sticky i don't want to waste everything that rubs off. I'll update again.

17/11- Week 16 Begins. Two & a half weeks till harvest i reckon. She's on the Bloom booster now which i hope is helping fatten her up. I'll give her a second feed on Sunday to start her 2nd week of boost. Overall health is great i reckon. Still getting growth & i can see i probably should have trimmed a few more branches before flower. If those don't develop into fatties they're still going to get me wrecked. They're so sticky, i didn't want to touch them while i tried a bit of airing out. Tonight the mrs helped me bring her inside so i could try & open her up & get some more light & air on the kolas. F@#$ me! I've got bud growth right down to the main side branches. Green, sticky, stinky. I managed to pull down a few, but there's just so many I've had to accept some are gonna be touching. I gave her a good pull apart & thorough look over for any bud rot & everything is looking great. 21/11- Feed day. Gave her a good look over outside the tent today. Looks like the little bit of opening up is helping bulk out the kolas out. They're more 'proud' as they're reaching out now. For a 30cm high plant she's gonna have a lot of weight on her.

24/11- Week 17 begins. Not a lot for me to do lately, she's been on auto pilot and travelling nicely. A few purple calyxes are coming through, but nothing like some of the other critical purples i have seen on here. Still having trouble containing the overpowering smell. I can't smell anything coming out of the exhaust, but i can smell her when I'm near the tent while she's all closed up. Wonder what if it'll more potent during harvest? She was feed on Sunday 21/11 for the start of week 2 of booster. She'll get her next feed on Sunday 28/11. I will push out another week if can hold off. She will be worth the wait though so I'm fighting it hard lol. Kevin is looking fantastic. She is still putting on the weight. Her current feed consists of Nimbin Nutrients Veganix, a plant based all in one feed with added calmag, as well as terpene gold and booster at full dose. I also feed Lil g with the same mix. I place the two of them in my empty drainage tub, slowly water till my 5ltr can is empty. Then let em sit in the runoff for half hour to hour. This gives them a real good soaking. This seems to keep them moist and happy for the week. I'm probably doing it wrong but the girls are happy i think, I'm no expert. Lil g is looking great too. She has got some awesome colours going on and smelling great. Harvest day soon, feeling a bit sad happy

1/12 Week 18 Begins 2/12 Hot, humid, & wet sums up the day & the days ahead. I'll be getting a dehumidifier for harvest. We've had do much rain & we've got more coming. Speaking of harvest, I've decided to hold out till the end of week 11 or close to it. Reading up on the strain, flowering for 11 weeks is recommended. So I'm going to just hold out. I' will admit, ive had a sneak peek. I have taken some lower branches out to allow some more air snd light in. Popcorn buds i think they're called. Reall fluffy. Creeper hit. Thought nothing of the cone till after i tried getting up. Real nice. Looking forward to the good stuff. 6/12- i've called it, flushing begins today. Calyx growth has slowed, most pistils are reddy browm, the ones left have real tight Calyxes around them, like tiny rosebuds. The lower buds have lost 90% of white pistils, internal bud growth is bright green but the trichomes are more white than shiny now. Sugar leaves are feeling dry. Kevin is still going strong. Plenty of white pistils n rosebud calyxes forming. Lil g is looking ready, she's chsnging colour & her trichs are more white than shiny too. Looks like Kevin is holding out a little longer. Go Kevin

Judging on the pics 7/12, i believe i should start flushing today. Calyx growth has slowed, & the ones with white pistils that are still left look tight. Lower hairs are red, internal buds still bright green but i can really notice trichomes, more white than shiny. Flush?

8/12/21- Week 19 is here and the 2nd day of flushing. I called it yesterday. Buds are looking good but the plant herself isn't. She's had her run and now it's time to prep for harvest. Really looking forward to this. I'll flush for 3-4 day, but most likely the 3. Then the happy sad part, chop chop.

I'm very happy with my first overall harvest. I dried it a little quicker than I'd like, but you work with what you got right? It's not the greatest haul, but for a plant no taller than 35cm, & only 50x60cm around, 242g of dried bud is pretty decent i reckon. It's all curing now & getting better with age. Don't reckon I'll lose much more weight. I'm a fiend, so I'm not the best at rating flavours & smells (bat shit remember?) & daytime or night time, who cares? I'm getting nicely baked off them atm & they're only going to get better over the next couple of weeks. I'll get some pics and write a smoke report around Christmas. That'll be about 3 days drying, 11 days curing. On top of the buds, i kept ALL of my trimmings, 121g of dried and cured trimmings from the whole grow. I put this with 17g of dried sticky sugar leaves & 750g of butter. I've hopefully just made some butter that'll scare some friends :) This was an easy grow, & really look forward to doing another round of purples in the future. I'll remember half dose nutes, push 9 weeks of veg with light LST & defol remembering to open up the guts, push 9 weeks of flower the use booster. I've also gotta mention, The help from some people on this page is amazing. Few shouts; DownUnderNugz, Shooey, gmslave, Papa_T. Not all of us are experts with all the knowledge. Not all of us know & have all the tools we need either. Some growers on here help fill those holes & help others produce a better harvest than if they had to do it alone. Thank you to the growers! Thank you Grow Diaries for giving me the platform to show off & receive feedback for my plant. Happy smoking :)
