Beginning is always OK, if there is an appropiate light over it and the air flows. Problems gonna come later. 😁
I started my first indoor grow with a simple cheap chinese violet "UFO" LED light with real consumption 42W (product info on AliExpress says 150W 😁 ). The first plan was just to create a low-budget grow box, just for fun and learning, but precious tuned and running properly. I wanted to run longer with this chinese LED, but with the time some LEDs stopped working or just emitted less light so I got one second-hand SanLight LED, which was a perfect choose for this area. First I thought it'll be too strong and I'll have to raise it like 45cm above.
The plant was growing well under the cheap chinese light for $30
Notice: first 23 days of grow there was another grow light - simple chinese violet "UFO" LED light with real consumption 42W. Later, since day 24, it ran with SanLight S2W - much better light but it also became warmer inside.
She was really doing well. On the day 24, I upgraded the cheap LED with the SanLight S2W. The light could only fit diagonally, but I think it's not bad.
At the end of week 4, I decided to top her (which shouldn't be done on autoflowers) because of grow height worries... I didn't have to. You know, I thought that from the flowering start she'll boost upwards like 2 times so tall... But she didn't, later I realized that this happens when you switch normal photoperiod pheno to 12/12, but my plant had already first pistils at this time (I would say 1st or 2nd flowering day) and didn't grow much higher at all. 🙄 😌 Never mind, we're going on.
Btw. I always take so much photos, because - more is better 😁 no, simply said - photos say much more about the grow than words, but world are also important.
Flowering has started on day 29. After using of 7 years old Hesi fertilizers one or two times, leaf tips became a little burnt and yellow. I don't know if it was in cause of long storage of fertilizers or maybe I just didn't have to start with full dosis... Maybe also pH, I don't know, I didn't measure it. However, at this time I thought it was a light or heat stress and I lifted the lamp.
After using old Hesi, I bought some fresh BioBizz stuff to give it more natural power. I'm starting with nutrient dosing which the producer recommends.
I came home from my holiday, full of worries if is everything OK, because I, beginner grower, left the box for 2 weeks to a person who doesn't know much about growing... 🤔 😁 And I was totally surprised, really, the difference after 16 days was incredible, trichoms everywhere and much more big and sticky... 😋 The light was 60cm above the plant because I still had doubts about light stress... But there was no light stress at all. 😆
