Everything is mostly good, had some pretty severe yellowing of my lower leaves. I’m thinking it was root bound since it was only in a five gallon pot. My other plant was ok and it was planted straight into the ground. So I transplanted the one and it was definitely root bound so hopefully things look up for her.

Grow Questions

I have lots of yellowing on the lower leaves of one plant. After reaserching I think it’s a nitrogen deficiency. Also today I’ve noticed lots of teeny tiny white/clear bugs! I’m super anxious about it, thinking my plants are goners. Any idea on what they are?

The yellowing is homogeneous and in the lower leaves, it's N deficiency, quite normal in the preflowering phase due to the stretch; give them growth nutes for the first 3 weeks of flower. As for the bugs, Neem oil and insecticidal soap work wonders but don't use them on the buds.

Only one plant has these very purple stems. It’s almost every large fan leaf. I’ve read that it’s a nutrient buildup or something? I don’t PH my water which I know is bad but any guesses on what is going on?

Hey man I've had exactly the same as you, it is a nutrient buildup, but it's nothing to worry about, yet... it's the first signs there might be something up though. Based on what you're putting in there, I would suggest following the nute, plain water, plain water rythm. Beyond that consider adding some micro nutrients. Why not use molasses for that : it's cheap and it's bio ! Just add a bit of that on plain water days

I’ve had to try some bending/lst on the large one... it’s over 7ft and worried it’s a little visible... I’m surrounded by farmland and should be fine but it’s like, huge. Hope it’ll be fine.

Start researching into pest control for outdoors. Neem oil and garlic/pepper sprays work well as well as introducing some ladies (lady bugs) to your garden, only issue is how long they stay put.....

Haven't tried it before, going to have to let me know how it works out.

@Kirr38, how about diatomaceous earth? Have you ever tried that? I have some for use in my vegetable garden.

Hi @BazookaJoe! You're having a slight Nitrogen deficiency from the past weeks, you did not feed enough N when the plant started to stretch, and as a result, the lower leaves are yellowing/dying. This is not really important since those leaves are not getting access to light anyway, you can tuck them out and prune the lower bud sites of your babies. Now about your invaders, it's all about prevention, I know it's too late for you but next time you may plan a prevention strategy from day 1 to harvest. Neem oil is a really powerful organic pesticide, but you don't want it to touch your buds / bud-sites, so it's a bit late to spray anything onto your plants. However, you could use a sponge and slightly treat above&below the leaves. 10-12 drops of pure neem-oil mixed with 1ml of soap (for the oil to adhere on the leaves) in 1L of water, use this mix with your sponge and you'll get a chance to get rid of those invaders. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

@Stick, wow thanks for all the info! I’m upping my grow nutes to counteract the nitrogen deficiency. I started spraying Neem oil for the first few weeks but then didn’t spray for a couple weeks and of course now I have pests... how does Neem oil effect the buds/bud sites?

Sorry, but sex is not showing yet. What you think is showing sex is just the stipules, nothing of importance. When your plants starts showing their sex you won't mistake it.....Either 1-3 long thin white hairs or a small lump will show close by those stipules.

@Kirr38, yeah I couldn’t get a good picture but there are little white hairs coming out of the plant there.

Dude, could you please name the grow light you are using. I saw some reviews on this site -> http://bestledgrowlightsreviews4u.com but I guess, most of them are affiliated reviews and would not make any sense. Could you please tell me the brand you are using?
BazookaJoe
BazookaJoe
@Lalalatifa, the brand of light is “The Sun” haha these are outdoor bud. It doesn’t get better than a giant ball of fire to grow your plants!

Wow! Smell is strong now! Decided to name it breakfast at Tiffany’s haha it smells like orange juice, the other smells like straight gasoline. Thinking that’ll be twin turbo. Just some bagseed anyway haha

Well before I knew about Neem oil effecting buds I sprayed both whole plants with a bio-Neem I bought from the garden center. It says on the bottle it’s 0.9% Neem extract. I’m hoping everything is fine but I’ll be freaking out the rest of the grow. I only have some decent preflowers so hopefully it’s fine.

Started spraying with Bio-neem 6/16 hopefully that will take care of the pests. Also picked up some fox farm. Should start taking off I hope.
