Germinated in a wet paper towel for several days then went right into dirt into a seed starter mix I had. They popped up within the day and all were poking up with leaves by today which is 5 days later.
All seeds popped up and are showing their cotyledon leaves as well as their first set of true leaves. This indicates they are now out of germination and into their vegetative growth period. I switched the light period to 18/6 to maximize vegetative growth I want the plants to grow as much as possible as I will be topping and screening the plants to achieve a “screen of green.” This will be my third grow and my first attempting the SCROG method to maximize yield. I have 20 seeds down the strongest 5 females will be chosen for the grow. All the plants will be treated the same until sexing occurs. Then the males, hermies, and weaker females will all be removed and the 5 will go into their final living soil bed. I am looking at using a 4x4 bed that I am going to use in my 5x5 tent with two Mars Hydro TSL 2000 full spectrum LED lights. If the 5 plants don’t fit in the bed I will use just 4 plants or use 5 living soil pots.
10-21 Plants have been transplanted from the germination station to solo cups. Plants were watered with the Mycorrhizae/Green Amino mixture. I switched on the other Mars Hydro TSL 2000 LED Grow light and turned the intensity up to 50% on both of the grow lights. Now time for the plants to veg out and grow to the 5th node. When the plants have grown and developed I will transplant again into the nursery pots when I choose my 5 strongest females.
10-23 plants have been watered with Mycorrhizae/Green Amino mixture. Plants are looking beautiful.
10/28 Solid growth. Cranked the lights up to 75% intensity. Transplanted into 1 gallon nursery pots and topped the 5 plants that I will be using for this grow. The soil I used for the transplant was a mix of the Build a Soil Oly fish blend and the Build a Soil Light Mix. I did a blend of 50/50 with the oly mix on bottom with one tablespoon of Pride Lands Veg Growth fertilizer mixed into the oly blend. The light mix was on top and I’m will be accessed by the plants first so as not to burn them. They should veg out great with this living soil mix. I doubt they will need food for several weeks. I might supplement some Veg Food in to a top water but only if the plants aren’t vegging up like I want them to. I will begin LST as the new nodes grow into place to give the secondary shoots access to the top layer of light. As the new shoots grow I will top these at the new node to split into 4 main colas per plant. With 5 plants this should give me 20 beautiful medium sized colas on the screen of green. The plants will veg out for another couple of weeks and undergo the next round of topping and LST. I have the plants in a 5x5 tent with carbon scrubbed air in and out, an ac/dehumidifier and several fans. This is my most involved grow to date. Let me know what you think.
11-4-21 Plants are looking incredibly healthy. The plants have been topped twice. They just started LST today as I used the canna benders to bend the plants horizontal. I am doing this so as to expose light to the secondary branches so that I can train them up for my SCRoG. The Plants got transplanted today. I did 16 bags of Light Mix from Build a Soil in a 4x4ft bed. Seeded with a cover drop mix from build a soil, and covered in barley hay to retain moisture. This big space should give the plants a healthy root base to absorb nutrients to support the 4x4 screen of green that I am going to erect above the bed. I want to keep the plants as horizontal as possible during their veg growth so that they mesh easily with the screen and I can simply lower the screen down and tuck as it grows up through the screen. With 5 plants I hope to fully fill that screen with buds. I have topped each plant twice for 4 colas, with the secondary branches coming up that should be enough colas to fill the screen. I am very excited to see what this grow has in store. This is my first bed grow and my first time practicing LST and SCRoG. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.
11-6-21 Plants are responding to training well. Starting to boost growth on the lower branches and nodes as they get exposed to the light. I staked down the new growth at the top of the plant and bent the plants all the way over with the canna benders. Today I began the nutrient regiment for veg growth. For this I am using 1 tsp of Rootwise Mycrobe complete, 1/4 tsp of Aloe Vera, and 1 tsp of soybean. Measurements are per 1 gallon of water. Today the plants received a full load of 2 gallons of this mixture and 2 gallons of straight water in the morning. I am watering twice a day with 2 gallons to fully saturate the massive 4x4 bed. I will reduce the watering schedule once the bed is fully saturated and retains moisture on the top of the bed. I am not watering until run off seeing that I am using living soil. This would sap my soil of all of its nutes very quickly and the soil would not be very living at all. Rather my goal is to maintain a good moisture content in the soil by watering more often with less water. I want the nutrients to build up in the soil. I also don't want to wash away my mycorrhizae. Stay tuned I will continue training the plants now that they have been topped twice. I am going to continue to tie down the new growths exposing the nodes to the sunlight. this will result in the plant developing true branches even at its lowest nodes. I am hoping to super crop the plant in this fashion.

Plants are responding awesome to the LST. They are throwing up new branches every day. I went in today and watered 2 gallons of water into the 4x4 grow bed. No nutes today. They were fed last time they got watered. Plants are looking very green and healthy. They responded well to the bending and the tying down of the branches. So, today I continued LST by tying all of the new growths down and away. This will provide stress for the plant as it tries to get vertical against its restraints. The topping from the other day is starting to show its fruits. I have 2 new growths at each prune site. These 4 top nodes are being staked down to promote horizontal growth. I will continue stretching and growing the plant horizontally until I introduce the screen. At which point I will grow the plant up through the screen with tucking to provide support to the plant as the plant becomes laden with buds. My spacing is good right now I should be able to fill the entire screen with growth if the plants keep booming and growing at this rate. exciting things stay tuned for more action and the scrog to come!
Started a compost tea, watered in compost tea. Continued LST to promote horizontal growth. Trying to continue to stretch these guys so all the nodes become branches and I can really pack this screen of green.
Compost tea has worked with amazing results. Plants are so so so healthy. They are filling out the screen at a rapid rate. The plants are very thick and bushy. I am going to continue growing the plants into the screen for another week and then when I see that the plants are ready I will add the second screen and flip to 12/12. I have been tucking almost daily so that the plant grows into the screen and gains support from the net. I have been doing the compost tea about once a week with a 5 gallon brew. This with the living soil has provided all of the nutrients that the plants need. They are so big and so healthy. I am very excited to see how they fill out with buds on this screen. I have so many node sites its ridiculous. I am going to have a very serious screen of green.
Went ahead and defoliated the canopy to allow the new growths to develop and shoot up. Going to be introducing the second screen soon. I am waiting to introduce the second screen until I have the first screen fully tucked and filled out. The canopy is coming in very thick. I watered today with the compost tea I just brewed. This should assist with the shock from the heavy defoliation. I have added quite a few nutes into the mix. I have a pretty heavy compost tea brew that I use undiluted at full strength. I use the following for my tea:
4 Gallons H20
1.5 cups worm castings
1/3 cup backstrap molasses
1/8 cup BuildASoil Craft Blend
3 tbs Soybean
1 tbs Green Aminos (Pridelands)
Added after brew cycle:
1 tbs Rootwize Mycrobe Complete
1/4 tsp Aloe vera
4 oz Liquid Hemp Fermented Plant Extract
This is my veg nutrient regimen. It is all I give the plants in addition to water. I only use the fortified compost tea and a living soil. I am trying to keep the grow as organic and natural as possible. Garden of Eden style shittt
We are now two weeks into flowering the pre-flowers are starting to form. I see pistils on all of the plants so all have turned to true females. I am doing a very potent compost tea. I’m also using build a flower top dress and will add more top dress as I see fit. Between the bloom tea and the top dress, I am hoping for some huge buds. I will also use a flower finisher to aid in the flowering process. I want the biggest buds I can grow. I want to have a massive yield this grow, as I have the best setup yet with the longest veg period. As a Plants continues to stretch, I might need to add another layer of netting, right now however it looks like the Bud will be perfectly sandwiched between both screens.
Plants have been flowering with Terp Tea Bloom, Mendocino Honey, and Fermented Pumpkin Extract for 10 weeks with Build A Soil Bloom Booster for the past 2 weeks. They are getting close to harvest. Smelling absolutely wonderful.
Love seeing something new! The bed of living soil looks great! Ive seen people plant cover crops in there beds like clovers to help retain moisture. They are also great nitrogen fixers to the living soil! But I do love your garden gromie! 😎
