Creme de la Chem seeds soaked in a glass shot with tap water for 12 hours, then paper towel for 24 hours and got a tap root. Coco/perlite medium was prepared with 25% strength Jack's Nutrient and one seeds went in, watered 20ml of microbe solution on each cup. Cups now sitting with domes until leaves break the soil.
Both girls popped 5 days ago, have been fertigating with 25% strength Jack's Nutrients after day 1 above ground. Hand watering twice a day, when lights go on 4pm and 10pm. Have been increasing daily solution strength from 300ec to now 600ec. Same with light intensity, started at 10DLI moving to 15DLI currently.
Growing fast, increased EC from 500 to 1200 and plants responded well. Think they need a calmag bump starting new week and increase of DLI as well. Ready to move to final containers and maybe top later next week depending on transplant response.
Beginning of the week had the girls transplanted from solo to final container of 3 gallon pots. After a day and a half they looked good enough so went ahead and topped between the 4th and 5th node. And started LST. Should have waited a bit that the shoots from the 4th node were a bit more developed and also plants were so short that now bent leaves are too close to the coco.
Plants responded well to topping and LST, lots of new tops coming through. Will try to up the nutrient solution to 2.0EC see how the girls respond. Have been fertigating 3 times a day
Explosive growth this last couple of weeks and finally have more than just preflowers showing. But plants are just growing like crazy with little flower formation so far. Hopefully it changes after this week. Already at day 42.
Seemed to develop a small deficiency, noticeable in the new growth. Suspecting nutrient lockout. Flushed with lower EC and now feeding the same lowered EC. Removed CalMag also from the equation. Might reduce a bit the CalNit as well if problem persists.
Flushing and reducing EC was a success. Plants look very healthy and are growing rapidly. Will bump the ECs back to 2200 which is about Jacks at about 100%. But will avoid using any calmag in the future. Pretty sure the calmag deficiency I was seeing before was just part of the lockout and needed a flushing to wash out salt build up.
Plants are thriving. Number 2 has started to frost all over and number 1 is starting to catch up. I have been doing once a week heavy defoliation plus trimming any lower branches and budsites not getting hit by light. Trying to improve ventilation too by clearing out the lower growth.
Have been doing some hard defoliation and removal of lower growth for better air circulation. The frost has really started to come in as well as sweet lemony terps.
Switched to a DIY automatic halo irrigation system. Girls getting fed 6 times a day every 3.5 hours. Noticing some purple shades coming in on both plants now. Resin is all over and it's still very full of leaves which makes me nervous so another round of defoliation might be in the cards. Just waiting for them to get fatter. Trichomes looking like it still far from done.
Ran into what looked like a K deficiency, with some spotting and tip curling on fan leaves. EC was coming in too high so decided to flush out with a bit of Florakleen. Not seeing any more progress on that anymore. Was confusing also because some of the fan leaves are getting a purple fade. Trichomes are getting cloudier, noticed a few amber but only on top of buds so calculating at least another couple of weeks. Unfortunately the frostiest of the two girls is not filling as much as the other. But both have a beautiful purple hue in the buds.
Got a beautiful fade spreading on one girl, purple leaves and some yellow brown hues. Other one is catching up but only has a few purpling leaves. Have at least another week, probably more like 2 until chop day. Smell has turned into a chemical, skunk stink.
Keep checking the trichomes, finally have some amber here and there. Might chop at the end of the week if I keep seeing more. Not changing anything else besides one little Florakleen flush to help with the nutrient buildup.
That was it for this run. One plant was very ready the other one could use a few more days but decided to cut both down and start the drying. Cut on day 101 from seed. Very easy plants, had very little problems overall.
