Hey everybody! We are back with an exciting first entry in our new grow diary
And it is my absolute pleasure to announce that we are fortunate enough to be partnering up with a company that has been in my grow from day one…
Who is it you ask?
Drumroll please!
It’s fast buds genetics!!
Truth be told, fastbuds was not only my first introduction to the world of autflowers, but was my first encounter with quality genetics period. It was my first experience having such variety at my fingertips and it was nothing short of amazing! I had their wedding cheesecake along with their blue dreamatic to start and had an absolute blast. Super easy to grow, and a smell so sweet, it literally brought my dad back in time- reminiscing about his “Christmas weed” this, accompanied by a taste and high to match, needless to say I am super excited to be back with a handful of new strains to try!
What do we have on the menu this time?
Well we have three separate strains going- first up we have gorilla cookies, every time I mention it’s name, someone pops out of the woodworks and tells me that not only have they grown it but it is one of their FAVORITE strains!
Next we have strawberry pie, if you’ve searched fastbuds strongest strains, there is no doubt you are familiar with this one. Anywhere I saw the gorilla cookies, I then saw strawberry pie and it was inevitable, I had to try it!
And lastly we have one that was introduced to me by a friend who actually got me into me growing. Him and his wife can hang with the best and for multiple runs, I saw them growing forbidden runtz. This is one of their favorite strains and I have no doubts it will become one of mine as well!
So for germination method, I chose to go with what I hear is the less popular peat pellet… to tell you the truth I’m always surprised when I hear that because I’ve had nothing but success with them so far and they have always been pretty convenient. Something that I am always sure to do when I use these is tear the top and the bottom of the little pouch it comes in- this stems from one time when I had planted 6 seeds, had 6 sprouts, went to transplant them and when I tore (VERY carefully might I add) the pouch off, I also tore EVERY. SINGLE. TAPROOT….🤦♂️🏻Needless to say, I failed fast, learned quick and picked up the pieces and here we are today.
I phd my water to 6.5 only because the water from my tap runs high and I wanted to play it safe- the peat pellets soaked and expanded, then I dumped the excess water. I generally squeeze the sides a bit because I find the home they put in these little pucks to be a bit deep for my liking and this tends to fill it in a bit. When it’s nice and shallow I place the seed and gently cover it with some peat and then I put the dome over the tray.
For now it will be placed in it’s temporary home- in the cubby area, overlooking the rock candy cake-but this will be short lived… we are working on other housing options, so more to come on that!
The ball is officially rolling and I couldn’t be more excited!! I want to thank fast buds again for this amazing opportunity! I am so stoked and we are going to knock this out of the park! And I want to thank all of you for stopping by and be sure to tune in next time, same time, same place- there is much more to come!
