Day 29
Turning up the lights yesterday raised the temps a bit. Iโve got my exhaust fan set to turn on and keep it around 75 in the tent. The humidity is set around 50%. I also setup some more automations that will limit humidity to 65% max overnight. This was previously hitting 80% overnight. Home Assistant is running all of my automations with Wireless Sensor Tags and EtekCity outlets cycling power on the fans/lights/humidifier. This setup is working really well right now.
Day 30
Weโve got some warmer days again (for December) and temp is up around 77. Nothing to worry about but itโs a thing. Plants are growing like crazy. Iโve removed a couple of fan leaves that are in the way of bud sites. Otherwise these plants look great and are healthy.
Day 31
Fed and watered today with Fox Farms Grow Big. I also clipped a couple leaves that were blocking bud sites. Other than that, everything is normal and moving along as planned.
Day 32
A little more thinning out today with the large fan leaves on the bottom. I understand why theyโre there and that they are useful for outdoor plants.
Day 33
Plants seem to be doing fine after light defoliation. We had a warm, rainy morning and cold dry night - automation is working well considering the crazy weather.
Day 34
Watered today, everything seems to be going well. Looking great - definitely better at the same time than my last grow. That one turned out pretty well - this one is looking better so far.
Day 35
Well weโre at 5 weeks and reportedly more than halfway done for Sour Stomper and at the halfway mark for White Widow. Light to plant distance is 18โ and the SS is 9โ tall and the WW is 7โ tall.
That SS is crazy, I just harvested a "Night Queen" from RQS that grew exactly like it. I was wondering for some time what the hell caused it. Thought about cutting it down awhile ago but went ahead and grew it out. It was frosty af, drying right now.
Higher temps in flower leads to fluffy buds.
That SS pheno is amazing, she has grandparents landracing genes. Will be real beauty by crystals at the end.
Good luck !
@AsNoriu,thank you for the comment. I raised daytime temps from 75 to 77 last week and will see if that helps. They are in a tent in a detached building that I keep around 66 degrees so that's the temp they fall to at night. They both look healthy and I'll see them through till the end. It's boom or bust with the SS and either way I learn something.
Looks great, hope you enjoy your harvest! Have seen only 2 other ones grow like that before! It's crazy and has to be a pain to trim! Looking forward to seeing what you do next!
@Cyrusdavirus, hopefully that's the case. It supposedly only has a few weeks left so we'll see. This is a very fast auto. If it turns out well, I'll definitely source some more seeds.
@sandspur, I think that's the sativa side of the strain showing itself, extra light will help but it wouldn't be able to stop it from stretching ๐ that's just how most sativa will stretch, but they can fill that empty space with bud making some long pretty buds
@Red_Day, thanks for the comment. It definitely wasn't, but in truth most of this hits a grinder. It didn't have a lot of fan leaves and the bud structure didn't have a lot of embedded leaves. It's still the strangest thing I've seen. On the flip side, it's the best smoke I've grown.
@Cyrusdavirus, sure is. She has a few larger buds midway down the plant but most of her is willowy. It's getting closer to harvest for that one. I can't imagine trimming all that.
@Cyrusdavirus,thanks! It really took off this week. My first grow had some issues that I've avoided so far. Hopefully that continues.I still had a good harvest with that one so I'm keeping my fingers crossed here.
