Start of my 2nd LED Grow ever. Used T5s, MH, and HPS years ago but with all the improvements to LED horticulture lights it feels good to be caught up on what's changed in my off time from growing.
Excited for all these Genetics. I have grew a critical sensi star plant like 12 years ago and still remember it clearly over a lot of other strains I've grown. Figured I'd finally double back and just try pure sensi star! Runtzosa falls into that "newer hype" category for me. Alien Genetics were amazing when I recall them first being around years ago and Gorilla clue has been a strain I love to smoke so Alien Gorilla peaked my interest! Finally; I always loved the terp profile from Fruity Pebbles; I can't imagine crossing it with Sherbert will disappoint!
Moving along :) nothing too crazy going on yet. Alien Gorilla has a leafy dominance going on of the 4 for sure haha. Sherbert Pebbles has a slightly overwatered look but I adjusted the solo cup a bit for air flow. I'll probably plan to transplant straight to cloth "dirt pot" 5 gal within a week or so.
Transplanted last night into underfilled 7 gal cloth pots which was the only reasonably close to 5 size the hydro shop had on hand. Will just be mindful with watering! As you can see these clearly want some nutes which I haven't given them yet. That yellowing to me looks like a nitrogen deficit. Anyways... will let them settle into their new pots for another day and night and will plan to give them a shot of nutes tomorrow.
Ts3000 is dimmed to 50% currently.
This week will be all about more LST like usual. As well as a slight boost to the nutes. These still have at least another month in Veg so the focus for me is to improve the shape of the plant for maximum harvest in a few months 😀
About time to order some more tomato cages. The plants keep pulling my anchors right out of the soil after I water them and the stand up haha. Getting difficult to LST things this way.
Very minimal leaf removal at this point. Will pump them some nutes this week again and they should be moving to flower in a week or two latest.
Little heavier defoilation than I'm used to but I read some pretty convincing material to support the trial. As soon as I get the Blue Cheese and Oreoz out of the flower tent (hopefully this week) I'll be putting up a SCROG trellis/net.
Moving right along. Trying to keep slowly more leaves to allow air circulation and light around the developing colas. Too late to lolipop without worrying about causing a hermi so will maybe try that along with starting the scrog earlier in flower and later in Veg with my next batch.
This runtzosa smells almost literally like orange juice and champagne it's wild. From what I understand, one parent is Purple Mimosa and given this plants traits I'd say it's learning more in that side than the Runtz side. Not upset one bit.
Sensi star has that unique almost Christmas tree/candle sort of organic forest type smell. I love it.
Alien Gorilla is the fattest so far in cola development but the terp profile is the least dominant so far. Not even sure how to go about describing the smell but maybe with time it ell become more prominent.
Lastly, this Sherbert Pebbles was born to be SCRoGed. It's the nicest little upside-down umbrella shape. It has an everage of 10 weeks in flower so might be the last to come down. Already smells pretty much like Dank weed. Nothing Fruity Pebbles or Sherberty about this bad boy so far at least. Just Skunk and Dank but I'm 💯% ok with that given nothing that I've grown since Cinderella99 many years ago had this Dank of a smell going on.
Cheers yall
Sherbert Pebbles still has 2 or 3 weeks left so will continue a light feeding for another week. The other 3 should be coming down in the next 14 days so will probably start flush moving forward
Came down a little early because quite honestly my personal stash was running low. In addition some nanners were starting to poke out. I don't think the plant was stressed but I've read about some Genetics that sometimes pop nanners in a last attempt to "save the species"
Super awesome Genetics. Certainly more of a 9+ week pheno though as opposed to the 7-8 the breeder says to expect. Didn't even see amber until week 9 and it could probably go another week if I'd have timed things better.
