Sorry I didn't take photos of the Germinating. But I used my usual approach. Soak them in a cup of water in my cubbard for 12 to 24 hours. Then another 24 in the wet paper towel method. The picture is of my BBK (part of my first grow)
Today Marks the 7th day since starting the germination process and day 5 from the day I planted them. Not sure if that counts as a week. I drenched the soil with a mixture of 1/4 tsp each of Flora Macro, Flora Micro, and Flora Bloom. Along with 2 oz of VermisTerra Liquid Worm Castings. I mixed them into 2 gallons of tap water. The label on the flora products suggested 1/4 per gallon, so I figured I'm at half their dosage. I watered them again on day 5. Same mix minus the worm castings.
Week progressing normally. White Widow #1 got toppled over (hit it with wand while watering. It was laid down flat on the soil. I had to place name tags to prop it up until it gains it strength back. It will be interesting to see how the light distance affects this grow. The lights are 18 inches from the canopy of my bigger plants, and about 30 inches from these seedlings. They seem to be progressing well currently.
WR#1 is growing long and linky for some reason, I have to prop it up or else it topples over to one side. I wonder if I should add more dirt maybe to cover up some of the stem?? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The other 3 are progressing normally, the lights are still a little bit above the mfg suggested height due to them being in a tent with adult flowers. I am continuing a nutes, plain water, nutes, plain water....schedule.
Today Marks the beginning of week 4. The previous week went smoothly. I still have them on the same feeding schedule, I think next feeding I will use be a bit more aggressive with the nutes. I was planning on adding more top soil to WW#1 however the makeshift stilts seem to be holding her in place while the stalk grows stronger. I'm harvesting CF in 3 weeks Dec 29th, and the 3 BBK plants in 5 to 6 more weeks Jan 12th. I can't wait to free up space to get some good shots without having to take out plants.
I definitely have to harvest soon. All of the plants except WW#3 are showing signs of preflowering. WW#4 is the tallest of them all. The week is going well overall and next week will free up a bit more space when I harvest Caramelicious. The BBK is about 3 weeks away, which will free up tons of space.
I was going to LST these, however being that they are autos, they starting stretching and flowering before I got around to it. WW#4 is by far the strongest of the 4, it is growing taller with a thicker stalk. I have all 4 in different potting mix. WW#1 is 100% coco coir/perlite. WW#2 is 60/40 coco coir, perlite/fox farm which is coco coir 50% and 50% aged forest products, perlite and fertilizer. WW#3 is reverse of WW#2 (60% fox farm 40% coco, perlite). WW#4 is 100% fox farm, if I had to guess I would say it's the 100% fox farm that has it looking more developed and strong. They all are doing well and I can't wait to see how it looks when the buds grow.
I wanted to LST these ladies but they started flowering and sprouted up quickly. Today they measured in at WW#1 23 inches, WW#2 19 inches, WW#3 25 inches, WW #4 32 inches.
#4 is obviously towering over the rest. I'm pretty sure it's the Fox Farm potting mix I used because they are all fed the same thing and are in the same size pot. I discontinued the automatic drip watering system I set up due to green algae begining to form and change the perlite pellets on the surface green. I'm noticing a bit of necrosis on some of the lower leaves I think it may be the new tower fan it really blows fiercely. Although WW#1-3 all have white spots covering the lower leaves, I chalked it up to minerals or nutes drying up from watering but it may be something deeper more sinister (lol, sinister sounds so dramatic I love it! Lol).
Everything seems to be progressing well other than that which I will be monitoring could be the drip system as well hence me discontinuing using it. I look forward to seeing how she looks as they mature. Stay tuned!
The week progressed without having any issues. They continue to stretch my lights only have about 2 or 3 more clicks to be raised before max height luckily my tent is 76" tall. WW#4 is the tallest and closest to the light the upper fan leaves sort of shrunk may be light burn? I moved the plant so the to Cola is not directly under the light but off to the side a bit.
This week went well everything is progressing normally. I am noticing that the buds on WW#1 and #2 are not developing as fast or as dense as #3 & #4. I'm almost certain it has to do with the fox farm mix I have #3 & #4 in.
WW#1 won't stop stretching, I moved her away from the light, but now the main cola will suffer from lack of light the leaves are already beginning to twist sideways to reach the light.
I am going to attempt to LST it by slightly bending it over from the top cola using soft bendable green garden mesh wire see what happens.
The buds on WW#4 are developing very quickly it has 100% ff mix. WW#3 is right behind WW#4 as far as bud development and it has 60/40 ff/coco perlite mix. WW#1 is 100% coco coir/perlite and has the smallest buds at this stage. WW#2 is 60/40 coco perlite/ff mix and is slightly more developed than WW#1 but way behind #3 .
WW#1 and #2 still have the white blotches/spots all over the lower fan leaves. Not from a pest, thought it might be powdery mildew but unsure there are no spots on the buds or branches so IDK. I'm keeping an eye on it.
1 or 2 of WW#3 fan leaves are severely discolored and dying from the tips more than likely from wind burn. I got a new bad ass osellating tower fan that whips wind out forcefully even on low. I am keeping an I on that as well.
John Doe is officially in a jar curing, crazy thing is I harvested her on the 11th. I placed it in a jar today. I attribute the fast turnaround to my WeDryer drying rack. I have the XL and it is worth every penny! What took a week or more to dry now literally takes 3 to 4 days, but then again I only have one plant or 1 oz per drying level. I'm going to officially taste her tomorrow. She yielded 8.2 grams not bad considering it was dying and several growers suggesting even a lost cause.
WW#1 stretched past the light, I used garden wire to pull it down by the top cola I'll call it late term lst. The Cola has already started growing upwards again towards the light. It appears that doing so caused a good chunk of leaves to turn yellow, I'm guessing the plant sucked up nutrients due to the stress of having main cola bent? Mostly lower leaves affected.
By the looks of it WW#3 and WW#4 are 2 to 3 weeks ahead of WW#1 and WW#2 as far as development of the buds.
I over did it with nutes causing tips of all my plants to yellow. No biggie though only about a month left, so I'm only feeding ph'd water with VermisTerra Liquid Worm Castings mixed, until I flush them in about 2 weeks.
This week went by so fast, hell this whole grow is moving super fast seems like yesterday I just planted them! The last 3 feedings I've only given them tap water ph'd to 6.3 to 6.6.
I plan on feeding them 2 more times with nutes before next week when I will flush them to prepare for the last 2 weeks before harvest.
WW#1 fan leaves are all pretty much turning yellow, both lower and upper ones. I blame it on me bending the top cola to make it fit under the light.
The bottom leaves of all the plants are beginning to change color and drop. Nothing to be alarmed about just the normal wear and tear from nutes being sucked out of them for bud and resin growth.
According to the stats on this seeds genetics from ILGM, I only have about 3 weeks of flowering left.
Update 1/31/22
I got a new digital microscope and can finally get crystal clear shots of Trichromes. It wasn't supposed to arrive until Thurs but came today. I took pictures right away. They still got a bit more ripening to do.
The week progressed without any complications. The tips of all the plants are showing signs of burn. I'm not worried because I have increased the dosage more than usual so it is expected.
The Trichromes are 85 to 90% cloudy, I am flushing them tomorrow as today Marks the beginning of their last 2 weeks. They will be on a strictly tap water ph'd. I may add VermisTerra Liquid Worm Castings to a couple feedings.
This White Widow plant was very easy to grow, it developed white spots on the bottom 3rd half of fan leaves early on. It wasn't pest, or powdery mildew, so I'm guessing just hard water spots maybe? It didn't affect the grow to my knowledge but then again they only yeild a little over 3/4 oz per plant for me.
I haven't smoked her yet, I out her in Jars to cure on 2/11/22. I will update with the results and affects.
