Well that’s week 8 all wrapped up! Still no luck with monopotassium phosphate, but I did manage to find phosphor at least; better than nothing. I will use it in the watering at the beginning of week 9, and then I will keep checking the trichomes to see if these ladies will be ready by the end of week 10. I would be surprised if they are since breeders normally understate the flowering time, but I believe the girls will be 100% ready by end of week 11, if not a bit sooner. I will do a half strength feed for week 10 and 11; I honestly believe “flushing” is just broscience. Why would you starve your girl of nutrients in the final phases of her life? I believe that a full flush (no nutrient water) is a waste; rather, I will half the feed strength so that the water will pick up the remaining nutrients in the medium and the ladies can use that up. Then another half/quarter feed so she doesn’t starve but rather go hungry (and hence less stress on the girls as well as a more natural form of self-cannibalization). 👌👽
Starting to see amber trichomes but only on a few of the sugar leaves; nothing on the calyxes yet. The trichomes are still cloudy/clear from what I can see, but a lot more have cloudyed up. The smell is amazing; thankfully I chose similar scented strains and it’s just so . . . for lack of a better word, dank! Pungent citrus and lime overtones😷, with some skunky funk and earthy undertones: opening that tent door just smacks you with this smell haha. UH #1 leaves have been getting progressively darker; over 80% are now dark purple. It is a pleasant surprise to see it; I thought at first there was some issues haha but turns out it’s just the cold bringing out the purple in her genetics. I’m hoping by harvest time the leaves on the buds themselves will have purpled up. The runts are going at a good pace too, so I will get some bud off of them at least (3 different seeds, so I am interested in their phenos.) UH#2 seems to have a different phenotype compared to UH#3 and UH#1.
SLH just keeps going; I am concerned that she is starting to foxtail though. It might be genetics because my temps don’t get even close to being too hot so, eh, we see what happens. To me it looks like she has decreased in bud volume; she looks a lot more airy now. I’ve been monitoring the banana situation with the UH#1 and I’ve only been able to find one half formed seed that I removed. Other than that, the calyxes seem to be swollen from ripening up, not seeds. I’m quite happy about that. The temptation to chop her down already is so strong; she smells extremely delicious! But I’ve come this far, so I will hold out and give my ladies all the time they need. 😇
How is this your first grow lmao - your set up and technique is mad pro! I'm learning! looking forward to seeing those esthetics once your ladies really start to bloom!
@Dabout,
Ayyy she is 👌👻
While I was extremely displeased with the germination rate (1/4 seeds 😠), this lady turned out magnificently! She is stunning, and it's a pity she is stealing the limelight from the UH 😂 But, she is in the front and only having 3 main colas means she is focusing everything into them.
@MUDBUG,
I just bought them from the hardware store. I made the light from scratch; took me 12 hours but worth it for costing US$ 70 👽👌 I cut away the plastic covering these lights had to expose the LED chips.
@LeeTHaze, I have to say you've done well! You've entered a hobby at full force but like you said you planned it out! Glad to see you creating a feed and it paying off too! I'll keep following! Good luck!
@CAMOGROWN,
So I may have got a lot of things right (due to my prior preparation + research), but I still got a number of things incorrect 👻but I am a first time cannabis grower so I'm not too fazed, I will simply learn from my mistakes.
PS; I am a keen gardener. I have had many a successful harvest of herbs and vegetables 💪 so that does help a lot as well haha.
