The seeds was hard to germinate. Took a couple tried before one popped but CKS sent me 7 for the price of 5 so its all good. Once she did germinate it grew slow until the roots hit the solution and then it was off to the races, Very easy plant to train and I trained her to grow flat so during the whole grow cycle she never got over 16 inches above the base.
As my first try at Hydro, my DWC grow was a huge success. The goal was to break 200 grams and i didnt make that goal but the second goal was to beat my previous best of 140 grams from one plant. Did that with ease and am sure future grows will be even better. The smoke from this strain is amazing. Its not cured yet so really cant say what the flavor will be like but the effects is really good. Fill a bowl and take one toke and you are off to the races. Real good cerebral high. Two tokes and you are going to take a nap until you get a little use to it. It has a decent couch locking to it without the feeling of being in cement when you have heavy couch lock. Its really good fro stress and anxiety. You know you still have your problems but when smoking this those problems just are not so intimidating. (had a sibling pass away recently, this helped a lot). And its good for pain. The bursitis in my shoulder was killing me last few day. A toke or two and it stopped bothering me.
Well guys, I been growing non stop for a year now. Probably harvested 10 plants this year and its time for a break. Im disabled and retired so its a hobby for me and with any hobby, over doing it isnt a good thing so I am gonna take a month or three off from growing. Seeds for my next grow have been ordered, white widow fem and blue cookies fem seeds and I will try out this new grow technique called fluxing with them that I been reading about but not sure I will do anymore grow diaries.
As a RDWC grower myself, I would highly recommend adding a chiller to your setup. Root issues, in my opinion, are the only downside of growing in DWC or RDWC, but adding a chiller and some Recharge (bubbled first with an air stone for 24 hrs before adding to your res), and you will never need to worry about those roots. It is not impossible to be successful without a chiller, however, the ability to keep the root zone at 68° has had a major impact on my garden. At 68° H2O has the ability to hold much more oxygen than at 75° to 77°. That extra oxygen in the solution makes a world of difference. My 1st run in RDWC I battled high res temps and root rot as well, but since adding the chiller and some recharge to my reservoir I have not seen even a hint of root rot in the last 3 years... Best of luck with this grow!!!
@MagicMikesMeds, Thats it. You would have 100 ft of regular garden water hose coiled up in the cooler so the liguid has plenty of time to circulate thru the fridge and cool down before going back to the reservoir. The doors has nothing electrical in it so they are safe to drill thru to run the hoses thru. The video I was watching was for an aguarium cooler and they guy said it would treat a 55 gal aquarium easily with a 1.7 cu ft fridge. No reason it cant do the same for a hydroponics set up.
@chopdoc,that sounds like a pretty neat idea. I met someone last year that had “jerry-rigged” a Poland Springs office water bubbler to work as a water chiller. I like the idea that you are thinking about. So basically the water would flow through the cooled hose in the refrigerator and then pumped into the garden? Is that right?
@DKBJJ, I am trying a growing technique called fluxing and am expecting a full pound from one seed with the same 600 watt light. Flipped it into flowering yesterday with around 60 cola sites on her. Have a second grow using fluxing technique I started a couple weeks ago and that diary is here on this site if you wish to check in on it. Its the Purple Kush fluxing grow I have going on now.
Girls look really good! You could defoliate slightly on top to give smaller buds a chance these last weeks. (Plants lose leafs near end of their life) good luck bro!!
