Wk6D1 - So far so good. The WW is going to be a challenge to keep under control if it keeps getting happy. The Black Sugars are finally fleshing out. The 3G and BD are happy. I removed a few bottom leaves that rested on the soil and where damaged. Wk6D3 - I did a bit of high stress training, trimmed what seemed like a good idea and put some soft wire guides in place. Wk6D6 - Topped everything but BS1. I am planning to switch the lights tomorrow

What is the best way to spread out a pure indica? They are so short and squat they training them horizontally has been challenging for me. Any tips are appreciated.

With patience and slowly. Can't really do much until the branches lengthen. Topping the meristem can speed up the branch growth at the expense of the main crown, however this can be beneficial as often the main crown on Indicas gets so dense and thick that they are prone to fungal attack, with the associated loss of flowers that creates. These days I top all my (heavy) Indicas as a preventitive to loss from bud rot and believe topped plants can produce just as much, if not more, than an untopped plant, especially if you factor in any losses from bud rot. In severe cases, losses in the main crown bud can be as high as 80-90% due to bud rot. These comments are directed towards photoperiod plants, with autos you really only have patience to contend with as you wait for the branches to grow, as topping autos can be a major yield reducer due to the recovery time from topping eating into the veg time before flowering starts automatically around the fourth to fifth week, sometimes as early as the third week. Going to an 18/6 light schedule will speed up branch growth, meaning you can get training sooner. Hope this helps, Organoman.

Anyone play with Gibberellic Acid before? I sprayed an indica (Black Sugar) with it heavily during veg and produced explosive growth during flower but not what you would call desirable.

Abstract Four-week-old Cannabis sativa L. plants were treated with 1 ml. of gibberellic acid or indoleacetic acid at concentrations up to 250 p.p.m. The treatment was repeated at weekly intervals for 3 weeks. These plants were harvested 1 week after the last treatment. Gibberellic acid caused a significant increase in height and a decrease in the weight of leaves and Ξ”9-tetrahydrocannabinol content Indoleacetic acid produced no significant changes. Gibberellic acid when applied at a concentration of 100 Β΅M enhances the amount of THC and CBD in the plant tissue. One reasonable hypothesis for this action is that the application of Gibberellic acid adds to the regulation of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid, ramping the level of ethylene, thus leading to increased THC and CBD content (Mansouri et al., 2011). ... Thanks for setting me off on new quest for knowledge.
