Corrective measures from last weeks heat stress: Raised light, dimmed bulb to 150w, added 2nd humidifier. Temps seemed to be fluctuating still, and the garage temp dips sometime at night. Added a little insulation under the reflective tray to prevent losing heat to the cement, and decided to start running the lights 24 hrs a day to avoid any temperature drops. 12/1 - Began LST 12/2 - Upped ballast wattage to 250w. Also, noticing one plant looks lighter than the other. Not sure if that's normal or if I caused it. Moved plants as close together as possible to eliminate small environmental problems. 12/3 - Additional LST

At day 22, did I start LST too early? I feel that I may have stunted the growth a little from overheating, but didn't want to wait too long to start training. Also, would a higher-powered light cause less distance between the nodes, and therefore make LST harder/less effective?

I like to have some good lower growth going before i lst. Looking at your plant it's around a week early. A stronger light with a good blue spectrum will produce tight node spacing. You can do effective lst with tight node spacing. As anytime training your plant just be careful.

Switched to HPS bulb and bumped up to 400W. Temperature sitting around 75 now, but can't keep the humidity above 45%. 12/16 - Had high heat, bumped wattage back down to 250 and seems to be stabilizing at about 72. Did some LST. 12/17 - Pulled both plants out to snap pictures of deficiencies. Plant 1's lowest leaves are definitely from light/heat burn from early on in the grow, but noticing that the yellowing is persistent. Dolomite lime was added ~1 week ago, so should just now bet setting in, so hoping those yellow spots are just the old calcium deficiency. (Aware that the leaves can't undamage themselves). I still feel like it's deficient somehow. Plant 2 doesn't show as much signs of yellow veins, but looks lighter overall, which points to a N deficiency I think. Also noticing Plant 1 has some lighter colored leaves, so considering adding some liquid nutes to their watering going forward. Need help here

~2 weeks ago I thought I had a calcium deficiency, so top dressed with Dolomite Lime. Is the current discoloration from the old deficiency or is there something else wrong? Plant 2 also seems lighter than it should be. Is it low on N?

Hey, i checked your diary and it seems that you only used dolomite lime last week after around 5 weeks growing, i suggest to ensure that your PH is somewhere around 6 always and please check for some nutrients my friend, at this point you just switched to flowering so you want a bloom nutrient, i personally use iguana juice bloom from advanced nutrients, its organic and has all kind of micro nutrients and macro nutrients, its to use 1 time a week, but definitely you need nutrients, they are basically starving from hunger now, no way you gonna have a good product without a good feeding program

Did I stress this plant into herming? If so what do I do? I have another Blue Dream from ILGM as well as two Mephisto CDLC's I just started? Should I scrap those two bc they're still so young?

5 day power outage 1/3-1/7. Pulled plants on day 2 of power outage into main room to get SOME light, but they definitely endured a few nights and days in the 50s and maybe even 40s. You can also start to see a huge difference in the two plants - one is very very scraggly and tall

All photos from 1/24. Did some defoliation, aimed for larger low fan leaves, yellow dying leaves, and cleaned up the inside fan leaves for air flow/light penetration. Plants are really showing stupid variations in poor genetics from ILGM. Plant 1 is definitely further along. Not sure how much longer, but ~2-3 weeks? Could use some expert advice there

Can someone help me with a rough estimate on time left until harvest? What should I be looking for? I'm running a 24/0 perpetual autoflower tent that hovers around 45-50% RH. Is there any reason I can't just hang the buds in the tent and keep growing?

If you don’t have a jeweler loupe to inspect trichomes, I’d be going off pistils white to brown ratio. Wait until they’re about 85-90% brown pistils.. I’d say you have about 10-14 days left. Hard to say tho honestly. No you do not want to dry your bud in the tent with lights on. It will degrade thc. Also not a great environment as described. You want a dark space with 50-60 RH and 65-70 F in my opinion. Some terps can evaporate off as low as 70 F. Hope this helps !

Things you can use to determine you favorit harvest point -- 1) Trichome color -- there is a lot of misinformation out there that gets repeated that contradicts reality as proven by real world measurements (see link below). First, clear trichomes do not ever mean it is low or devoid of THC. A smokey trichome is actually the initial stages of degradation, so it is absolutely not "peak thc" for a trichome as that makes no mathematical sense nor is it backed up by real world tests. For the most part, if your goal is highest THC% (this isn't a suggestion), you should harvest 1-2 weeks before most people suggest in regard to "50% amber" or whatever. This is not a suggestion. there are other factors invovlved, like yield. A few lost fractions of a percent while gaining enough weight is obviously worth it for most people, but technically speaking, peak THC will be long before most people suggest that you harvest... again, proven by real-world testing of suitable sample sizes. 2) Pistil colors... toward end they should change color and retract. 3) Bud density... I don't suggest being overly handsy with plants.. better not to touch and fiddle like an enamored 3-year-old, but a little squeeze here or there in a limited manner isn't going to rub off too many trichomes or damage the plant. 4) Rate of drinking... toward end (senesscence) it will drink less... in my expereince it happens all of a sudden... be feeding every 2-3 days at same resulting pot weight, then all of a sudden it takes 2x or 3x as longn for it to drink same volume of water. my temps and RH did not swing drastically to cause this.. the plant just slows down uptake regardless of current VPD remaining mostly consistent. Most importantly, try different points within a harvest window... it is not just 1 day you "should" do it.. but there is probably a 2-3 days window that you will prefer over others. There's a lot of shit going on inside the plant that we don't have mapped out and one of the worst ways to measure this sort of minutia is relying on other people's senses that lack the necessary resolution or simply their feelings that lead to unproven beliefs that some portion will cling to because it is intrinsically linked to their egos instead of just accepting reality. We all believe in something that is wrong at any moment... when faced with incontrovertible proof otherwise, those that cling to bliefs are just mad as a hatter. It should not be a bruise to the ego to be wrong about something.. shit happens. assimilate knew knowledge and move on. simple as that. Don't focus on the technicallity i mentioned about peak THC% above. Use all three metrics to find your prefered harvest window. Trial and error... after a few harvests you'll better know what you like. TBH, you really can't go wrong... bout the worst you can do is cost yourself somem small % of harvest weight or maybe wait too long and the damn thing dies on the branch. LOL. Give this following link a good read... it turns a whole lot of myths on their heads... highlights some groupthink that is occuring in this market: https://www.scirp.org/journal/paperinformation.aspx?paperid=93052 -- the people behind this are acutely concerned with ROI... in this case it is a good motivational factor to map it out correctly as opposed to generally accpeted and mostly unproven hypotheses. Before reading that i was hell bent on trying "later" harvest windows with more amber. Everytime i harvests earlier it turned out better, LoL. It tasted better, i enjoyed the high more etc etc. Heck some plants never turned amber for me.. can wait until it starts to rot on branch before i see it. Some of that is personal preference, too. There's a wide range of "acceptable" here... don't get caught up in what others do beyond a very generalized suggestion. what about the trichomes that have been covered up by layers of calyxes... our eyes simply cannot resolve theses things. lab testing proves how wrong initial perceptions were and that should reinforce what i am saying... ppl believe things that are batshit crazy and enough people repeat it, it becomes a "truth" **"Groupthink is a psychological phenomenon that occurs within a group of people in which the desire for harmony or conformity in the group results in an irrational or dysfunctional decision-making outcome." --- this is a rampant phenomenom that permeates all cultures of the world.

This plant had bad genetics but has somehow limped along, and I think it's too late for nutrients. I think it should be ready to harvest in a week or two, but I'm wondering if its even worth it because it looks like the deficiencies have spread well into the sugar leaves. Thanks!

The bud will be fine, Even if it does not have much bag appeal or "look pretty" they will still make kick ass edibles. Just need to infuse them into butter or extract it with ethanol. One option to reduce the plant taste in the butter is to water cure the buds. It is not something I have tried yet but I plan on it with a small amount of my harvest when it comes. I cant say for sure it is good, but they theory behind looked alright for buds you plan on cooking with. I grew some larfy ass shit one year. I infused 3oz's of it in a bottle of oil and use it for muffins. Its great. Best Of Luck!

Yes, You can still make extract's if the smoke is not up to par. The buds have THC in them so it would be worth it. My only concern would be the spot's i'm seeing on the leaves. Could be from a lack of nutrients and nothing to worry about. Your plant is very deficient so it is susceptible to infection and they look to me like septoria leaf spot. Which is a fungus.
