FEEDING REGIMENT WEEK 1 – WEEK 4: LET YOUR PLANT DRINK THE BUCKET DOWN AND ADD ONLY NUTRIENTS AT THE PER-WEEK AMOUNTS FOR WEEKS 1-3 – DON’T ADD WATER FOR WEEKS 1-3. AT THE BEGINNING WEEK 4 ADD BACK WATER LOST FROM WEEKS 1-3 AND ADJUST NUTIRENTS AT WEEK 4 NUTRIENT RATIOS. LET THE PLANT DRINK THE BUCKET UNTIL WEEK 4 IS OVER.
FEEDING REGIMENT WEEK 5 - 6: LET YOUR PLANT DRINK THE BUCKET DOWN AND ADD ONLY NUTRIENTS AT THE PER-WEEK AMOUNTS FOR WEEKS 5-6 – DON’T ADD WATER UNTIL THE BEGINNING OF EACH WEEK. AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH WEEK ADD BACK WATER LOST FROM THE PREVIOUS WEEK AND ADJUST NUTIRENTS AT THE CURRENT WEEK NUTRIENT RATIOS. LET THE PLANT DRINK THE BUCKET UNTIL THE WEEK IS OVER
FEEDING REGIMENT WEEK 7 – WEEK 10: LET YOUR PLANT DRINK THE BUCKET DOWN AND ADD ONLY NUTRIENTS AT THE PER-WEEK AMOUNTS FOR WEEKS 7-10 – DON’T ADD WATER UNTIL THE BEGINNING OF EACH WEEK. AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH WEEK ADD BACK WATER LOST FROM THE PREVIOUS WEEK AND ADJUST NUTIRENTS AT THE CURRENT WEEK NUTRIENT RATIOS. LET THE PLANT DRINK THE BUCKET UNTIL THE WEEK IS OVER
INITIAL NUTRIENT AMOUNTS ARE SHOWN ON WEEKS 1, 5, & 7 – THE RES CHANGE WEEKS. ADD-BACKS (DAYS BETWEEN RESEVOIR CHANGE DAYS) REFLECT THE AMOUNT OF NUTRIENT NEEDED TO RAISE PPM TO THE CURRENT WEEK PPM TARGET BY 100PPM/GAL. THESE IN BETWEEN WEEKS INCLUDE FLORA TRIO AS CALCULATED, AND ALL OTHER SUPPLEMENTS LISTED AT A STRAIGHT-LINE RATE.
Have 3 equally-looking sprout ladies. They’re a bit young to take home, so I’ll give it a week or so and will pick a winner.
Grow cabinet finally in check. Quite the chore on the initial set up with smart devices and software, but she’s good to go from here on out. Tight variables with temp and humidity.
As far as CO2, I have averaged what I have in the finished shed area. If I’m working in there for an hour and a half it can get to 1200pom, easy. It has gone as high as 2500 if I have been in the office area for a period of time! The CO2 smart sensor turns the outdoor inline exhaust on when ppm hits 1200, to bring it down to 750 which is the limit temperature-wise I can handle working daily in the space. This enrichment level also matches the PPFD of my light, so more CO2 would be a waste anyways. DYI CO2 generator on the way to raise levels up if room drops to ambient CO2 levels when I’m not gassing the room myself. Skeptical about this CO2 generator, but we will see if it can at least supplement the lows during lights on/when out of office.
Roots hit the nutrient solution on the 6th day. I will drop the level a couple inches and let her run on the same solution to transition. My nutrient add backs will be for the ratios of that week. Looking good so far.
I decided to jam everything of grow worthiness into this box. Complete fire hazard behind this grow box, but only drawing about 200-200 watts.
I ordered a larger c02 generator that BARELY fits in the box. Only getting about 2 days from current one. 4 days will suffice with a larger generator as it will get cut in early flower.
This is about the smallest/shallowest netted pot I have ever used. The goal was to get the roots out of the medium and into solution using vigorous air bubbles to keep the pot wet. No pumps in this bucket. Roots hit nutrients in 6 days from sprout. Sweet…
Can some of you tell me what you consider day 1? Tap sprout, breaking soil/medium, etc? One of those things that deserve standardization of sorts, right?
Interesting papa T - I get it’s not true veg til a few weeks in but there’s no seedling stage for the diary so I just start week 1 of veg on the diary as the day it pops thru medium and cotyledons open and face the light
Can one top an Auto (10-14 week strain) in late 4th week? I’ve been topping on day 21 since growing autos but feel there room based on past grows. Advantages/Disadvantages if done before preflower?
Most people generally don’t top an auto but your plant is looking like fire and you’ve got a good grasp of what you’re doing by the looks of it. So I say if you’re having success doing what you do then don’t change bro. It sounds like you already know when to do this strategically as to not stress the plant at critical phases.
Obviously the short lifespan of an auto makes it less desirable to stress it through its life. But a plant is a plant and it can be topped.
But topping before preflower is gonna decreases bud sites. I don’t think there’s benefits from doing this at this point.
Cheers 🤙
My Plantess is bigger than the BBanner, Zkittlez, GGlue Autos grown in the past; same genetic stature. By the end of week 4 she will be wall-to-wall and 10-11"H. I lateralized branches for when FIM-job grows in. 24" max plant height. Move her out of this 2 x 2 tin can?
Could I top this FIM from a week ago? I have lateralized all her branches, but feel there is a lot of catching up to do. Branch spread is ideal for this grow space, but comparatively low. Am I really effecting yield, if I am satisficed with the growth in place and take the top?
Normally at this point in a grow I would say no, and use LST. Trying to even it out with the two shoot from that node to give your self another main cola.
but your plant is massive, and looks like its doing very well. I Don't think that little nubbin going missing will do shit to your over all yields. Its a BEAST!
Go for it.
Pinch that little sucker off.
Happy Growing!
My plant grew massively the first 4 weeks, and leaves became jammed regardless of my training techniques. A medium defoliation, turned into a massacre! Growth slowed last two days - almost up to speed again. What will come of a near "Schwazz" in early week 6 (auto), in the end?
That's not necessarily true what organoman said below. As long as the plant is healthy, Taking off some excess foliage and small budsites is good for the plant and the end result. Pulling off dead or dying leaves and lower down leaves actually makes more sugars and nutrients available to the plant and causes a mild stress response which strengthens and send food to the other branches. It should also be mentioned that this should only be done before and after the flowering stretch, avoid during stretch period can stunt growth. 🌱👍
Twice between heavy defoliations the were leaves were so jammed together some leaves would get wet from contact with other leaves. It's the only leaf on the whole plant like this - as of now. Seems like Calmag? Product of sweating? Nute splash? (week 7 photos)
If it's only on one leaf I would not worry to much about it.
It could have been water damage from being wet like you said and then getting burnt from the lights.
Or a splash of the nutrients.
Don't panic if its just one leaf and keep an eye on it.
Don't remove it as well, if it gets much worse on that leaf then it will help us determine what it could be.
Good Luck!
Leaves have faint large spots in the center/top of the plant. Light is 8” from the center of the plant. Almost purplish/gray color. I have a mid grow flush coming up this Saturday. Long flush? Is the light distance to blame, something else?
your NPK in GH nutes alone is.
1.3-2.5-4.3
add in the others as well.
silicon 0-0-4
calmeg 1-0-0
koolbloom 0-10-10
floralicious 2-.8-.02
I don't think it needs more potassium, maybe less.
Could try 1ml-1.2ml calmg vs .8ml
excess potassium also looks similar to what your experiencing.
and needing phosphorus also looks like this.
excess potassium locks out calcium as well and this looks like that too.
I'd cut back potassium somewhere maybe armor SI and Kool Bloom / flora grow.
Could as in more micro to boost the lost nitrogen from grow.
Best Of Luck!
This is a note for my previous question. Wanted to pass along my auto feeding schedule is in my germination week if it helps any. Also my Koolbloom ppm wasn’t set to ml/gal so that was looking way off in a number of weeks so I updated that
Was wondering what happened to my old answer, its a new question lol.
that photo is small and blurry but I made out most of it.
week 7-9 flower
still looking at NPK of 3.0-4.3-7.43
I still think potassium is on the high side and phosphorus could be a bit higher.
Cheers,
Despite fimming, topping, & numerous HEAVY defoliations (only few days between lashings) into week 6, she's still vivacious. Week 6, I sat her back in the chair. Will she bulk up soon, or is there a Auto "tell-all" on day 50 with final yield? 10-14 week strain. Stretch over.
It looks good.
Don’t do any more defoliation tho.
Autos are all over the damn place.. some finish in 70, some finish in 120. There’s been weeks difference I’ve seen in the same strain.
Relax, and let it be for a bit, you’re in good shape.
I have noticed some I ran awhile back would have this like period around this time where they just coasted and seemed to not put on any serious weight. It was annoying, personally.
That’s just my experience but give it time man. It’ll be good. Hydro is good at rebounding
Plant exceeded growth expectations. Now the light penetration is not at the desired PPFD half way down this crowded plant. Any reason not to upgrade to a 250 bar light during flower with Autos?
Is changing the light cycle of an autoflower from 18/6 to 20/4 in mid flower too stressful? Doing so would bump my DLI enough to keep my existing light through harvest. She sleeps like clockwork but less so now in mid flower. Will she adjust in a couple days to a longer day?
@Hydronaut because of its genetics it will hardly miss a beat if you change lighting cycles
just keep in mind the extra heat generated with the extra 2 hours of light if that could be an issue
What is dry weight considered for GD? Any general consensus? Seems subjective and I hate trimming bud and cut off the good stuff and toss larf and not so sexy buds in the trash. It’s usable but I have no need for most of my harvests and tend to grab the high end jewelry and run.
Is there a consensus of when day 1 starts? I always called day 1 the day the seedling breaks the medium surface as seeds can pop in one day, or five. I know there are plenty of opinions here. Thoughts?
Day 44: She's looking good, and stretching at a rate of 2"/day in her tin can. I did a light defoliation and cleaned up training wires. I'll leave her be from here on out; less some selective defoliation to keep sites open. I cut CO2 (which would have been helpful a bit earlier), and may turn back on at the end of week 8, time will tell.
She's growing rapidly for sure. I squeezed in 3 defoliation/LST sessions in week 4, and just finish my fourth in week 5. Recovered and moving forward, within hours every time. Getting good light penetration/new shoot growth. Some of her extremities are near 90 degree angles now, with smaller branches racing to the top. Hoping the low branches catch up soon, there quite the growth happening at the FIM location, and she may take off again!
Hehe, of course I can! How would one feel if they were locked up in 4 square feet for 12 weeks with no one to talk to! There’s a group call PETA that’s seems to be sweeping the industry. (People for the Ethical Treatment of Autoflowers).
It's a coffin. 22" x 22" inside growing footprint - if that. I gotta say, I can't figure this girl out in it though. Can't kill her, let alone train her to fit in the tin can. Wild grow from a defoliation perspective. Maybe all she needs is time, to shine. Fingers crossed!
