Day 8 - very healthy sprout
a. the roots are already into the pool, forming ladder roots
b. I changed the DWC out, always from top watering you will get some gunk in there from the root riot/hydro rock dust, tends to build up on the roots, it never hurts anything, however it couldnt be good for the nutrient absorption.
c. water source is mountain water, 130ppm from spring.
d. TS1000 is at 100% intensity at 75cm away from the top, they love this
day 9 - growing fast
a. she is growing fast, and the roots are developing nicely
b. keeping the ph 5.8-6
Day 10 - looking very nice
a. this seedling is very healthy, strong
Day 11 - growing fast
a. this is a very fast plant, having to keep knocking the PH down
Day 12 - growing very well
a. had to move her to the corner of the tent to make way for my Afghan kush plant, it got too cold out in our barn for the Afghan kush
b. the seedling is growing very well, she still gets a good amount of light
Day 13 - growing well
a. she appears to be growing fine despite her tent mate
b. will be nice to move the Afghan out of here next week when it is supposed to get warmer
Day 14 - nice environment
a. the Afghan Kush and the Big Bud are friends now, lol
b. all is growing well here
c. video of our friendly environment
Hi bro, I would like to tell you that I am learning a lot by looking at your journals. In a few months I will start my first crop ever and I decided to do it in dwc. Let's hope so.
Thanks
@DeepWaterGrower, Yo man that is awesome! Please DM me with any questions. Tip.. make sure to use the basic cheap chemical PH testing kits. The electronic PH pens are never accurate for DWC, and they are expensive. Your first plants will be monsters. Which line of nutrients are you thinking of running?
Looking beautiful, great structure , now you are starting to feel what I feel with ridiculous amounts of nutrients, you are doing very well to contain the concentration of the solution , I’m glad you using ph6.1-6.3 as this is much easier to keep level , than sub 6, I think you could pull 10 oz if you keep it up 👍🏽 nice grow 🤞
@BigDaddyK, Thanks a million! im hoping to get around 300 grams here. I find that 5.7 in veg and 6.2 in flower seems to be great for most Indica leaning autos in the dwc bucket. this plant is flowering very fast and drinking so many nutrients. When I do a 4-5 day mineral water flush, then gradually re-introduce the bloom blend, the autos really ramp up their production in the last 2 weeks with amazing sweet flavor.
@JamMAKEcan, oh same here, I have been comparing it to my Pineapple Express grow from Fastbuds which was killer.. it looks like Big Bud may beat it in total harvest. However I am using 2x the light now (:
Nice work👌..
Thinking about trying that DWC in the future, I've seen some impressive results💪..
Just wondering about your banana c02 gen.? I make mine with 1 cup sugar, .5 tsp bakig soda,
1.5 tsp yeast and 6 cups of water lasts about a week, and I add some sugar and yeast as needed after that
to keep the bubbles coming out every 3-5 seconds. I use 2 containers one with the c02 mixture and a smaller one with just water,
because sugar and yeast make alcohol and I don't want that in the tent, so the c02 bubbles out of the smaller container through some water used as a filter.
Works well and is very cheap to make, I'll post a pic in my Cinderlla 99 diary, Later!!!
DWC is absolute easiest way to grow monster yields. None of that water schedule, or guessing nutrient bullshit. I follow all measurements on the GHE bottles with minor deviations. I use the Bannana beer that is made to run through my distiller to make moonshine hooch alcohol. It hits hard. after 14 days in the box is ready to make liquor. The water bubbler is a good idea, but I have never seen any thing bad from just letting the CO2 it vent into a tube under my fans. CO2 is heavier than air so I make sure it blows over the top of the canopy. I only use it during veg period, as all my plants outgrow my tents every time. I use a kilogram of dissolved white sugar made into simple syrup, then I add 2 whole very ripe bananas, puree them by shaking with sugar making syrup. take 40 or 50 grams of instant bread yeast and dissolve it all in about 1/5 litre of warm water. I combine the 2 liquids in a 10 litre water jug and fill with water to the 5L mark, after a week I taste it, adjust my ingredients with another 4L of solution. All of my plants seem to veg huge when I do this. I run my box temps always above 25 degrees when I use CO2, and seal the box up as well. Replace entire system after 14 days. Costs me 2 Franc. Enjoy the alcohol you just made while making your plants absolute monsters. 😎
@Blabina, it seems to work well making a flat canopy. I started doing full HST to where I actually supercrop the stems, it works very well, but Ive noticed that when you do a lighter HST by not kinking the stem on an auto the secondary limbs really become much stronger. I will only HST this plant this single time. 😍
@northernMike, sure is! I am so impressed by this strain, I thought Pineapple Express was a fast strain, but this one at day 15 is almost 2x the size! Happy New Year!
