An update that’s finally on time, one in a row! This lady seems to be going great. She’s adjusted to dry amendment really nicely and has some robust growth. The nutrient issues she had in the early weeks appear to have subsided and she’s growing healthy. She was defoliated (second half of pictures) to encourage additional growth and seems to have responded well. The scrog is just beginning to take place and finding the best route to tuck these two will be challenging in such a small space (2x4)

Thanks for the info. https://www.roguesoil.com/launch-pad-components this is the web page of the product and whats in it. I like the idea behind it. If the manufacture of your nutrients has a soil based feeding guide line check it out and see what it says. You may run into salt buildup in the soil when using liquid fertilizers, as they don't drain out of the medium as well as a soilless one. To fix that if its becoming an issue you will need to flush your medium. This is the feeding chart for botanicare, they also have a soil based flower feed in the same lineup. https://www.botanicare.com/documentation/pure-blend-pro-soil-feed-sheet/ **When using Silica Blast, always add Silica Blast into your reservoir FIRST followed by Cal-Mag. If Silica Blast is not being used and Cal-Mag is, Cal-Mag should be added FIRST, then add the remaining nutrients** This is a snip it from a blog giving suggestions for feeding guidelines. They also stated it was important to read your plant as well in case it wants more or less. Early Growth 400 - 500 ppm 0,8 - 1 Seedling 500 - 600 ppm 1 - 1,3 Transition 600 - 750 ppm 1,2 - 1,5 Vegetative Stage 800 - 850 ppm 1,6 - 1,7 With soil grows dry amendments works really well in them like Gaia Green or Dr.earth even Down To Earth, these brands are fantastic. I am not to familiar with liquid nutrients in them indoors. I used liquid nutrients in soil on my balcony for a few years before switching to whole organic items because it can hurt the soils microbial life over time. With that said they loved it and did very well for the first two years. amazing vegetables and flowers. third year not so much. If you plan on tossing the medium after the grow this will not be a problem for you. I think you are on track to doing well. The plant might have just need some extra food and now it has some. will take a day or two to see it recover. The feeding chart says it wants more but the PPM is within range. Maybe next feed only give Grow and skip on calmg and silicon for one feed. Good Luck and Happy Growing!

I scratched in 1 TBSP of Down to Earth AP (4-6-2) 5days ago with 2L of pH’d water (6.5). I believe I over watered as the leaves got droopy and then all of a sudden had a bunch of gnats. Killed them, soil is drying but now pale leaves and brown spots

Dry amendment products like Down To Earth, Dr.Earth or Gaia Green all need time and the correct PH + microbes to help break down and feed the plants. If you are noticing a deficiency then it is likely a week or two old and the amendments need about a weeks time before they become available. This equals a lack of feed for about two weeks. On top of this if then you are supplementing Liquid fertilizers they can mess up the microbe life in the soil. not normally to much but has the potential. I'd try compost teas if you want to stick to the organic"natural" way of things. When your topping up the medium with amendments their ratios are a bit higher then expected. they tend to go anywhere from 1-3Tbsps per Gal of medium. I'm guessing your root pouch pots are anywhere from 2-4gal and would require 2-12Tbsp of product mixed into the top soil. Normally they make this ratio a bit higher when transplanting into new medium/pots. Eg. my Gaia Green is 4tbsp per gal of medium on transplant and 2tbsp per gal of medium on top dress. It is advised you top dress ever 3 weeks as the feed lasts about one month in the medium. I also add in a bit more soil/worm castings/compost when doing this as well as the top layer tends to get compacted and airy, I saw in your Diary your only using 1Tbsp and that is probably to low, check the suggested feeding on the box. One other note is watering, when growing with amendments you do not want to be overwatering or watering till runoff. This will wash away any available nutrients sitting in the soil. Next run try mixing in around 30% perlite. and confirm your soil is really soil, a lot of places are calling things soil as soon as they add in compost but its really more soilless with compost added. I have also grown with this with some good success. To tell when you need to water pick the pots up or poke them and make mental notes of what they feel like before and after watering. Gnats are a sign of to much water in the top part of the medium. BT products kill them out well, I also have had great luck with Beneficial nematodes. kills em in the root zone and sticky traps kills them in the air. two part life cycle killing spree. https://www.amazon.ca/Nema-Globe-Beneficial-Nematodes-S-Feltiae/dp/B01N5TYSFU Best Of Luck!
