Two of the bigger colas took damage from the cat-tastophe, so their now tied to the ceiling. There is one fat cola in the back that's fatter than the main, can't wait to see what this thing weighs. Buds are heavy and frosty, with barely any amber.. Supposed to finish in 8 weeks around the same as the skunk, but still plenty of new pistils coming in; take it week by week from here. No real senescence on her so there's plenty of food in the soil.
Refer to my Skunk diary for info on the cat-tastophy.
@NSCanna, That's incredible! I cant wait to see the this new grow!
Thank you so much on your insight, After you suggested buildasoil and mentioned he said something about the earth boxes with airstones, I went on a buildasoil YouTube binge lol
I've now seen all of the 10x10 season 3 episodes and FAQs, I watched family farms season 1, And now I'm a good way into season 1 of the 10X10 series. And I did in fact stumble on the FAQ he did that answered my air stone question. So thank you again I've learned sooooooo much in the last couple days.
@PhunkyPhallus, My new grow which hasn't been posted yet has a lot of different cover crops. Yarrow, basil, red/white clover, nettles and borage. Yarrow and nettles are for allelopathy, clover is for nitrogen fixing, and the others are for chop n' drop mulch. My previous Earthbox grows just used the mulch covers.
My soil is full of red wigglers, soil mites and springtails. I try to mimic nature as much as possible and use a microscope to check soil microbiology a few times every grow. This will be my third grow in the same soil, but I'm probably going to have to change it out after 4 or 5 as the worm castings start taking over and you end up with what is basically a worm bin after awhile.
@NSCanna, excellent response. I’ve been watching buildasoil for a few weeks now and I’ve watched a good amount of his videos. But I haven’t watched the “Clackamas Coots” video until just now. I also haven’t stumbled on the video talking about the plant becoming dependent on the stone. Thank you for your response.
I’m growing in 50/50 Happy frog/ocean forest too. I’m just looking to make the most of my available space but I’m also interested in being able to reuse my soil as it’s honestly quite expensive. I’m still learning about no till.
Do you have worms in your soil?
Do you grow nitrogen fixing crops before doing another grow?
