So, week 5 D29 This plant was a sample and sadly I've treated her badly. And she's fighting me on every turn. Trying to get her under control has been a real task. I basically had to keep stripping her to promote growth, so I'd strip an ok developed 2nd set of nodes hoping in turn that will increase the growth on the very underdeveloped 3rd set of nodes, I decided to take the 4th set of nodes as they were only developing and way to far behind, all the stripping in the world wouldn't of helped that grow to match the rest of the plant in such a late stage. So, I dabbled by adding A+B GROW and Nirvana and in doing so caused and excess of nitrogen build up. I noticed it 2 days ago and cut out some pieces as there was leaf degradation so cutting it out stopped the spread on the leaf coming from the top of the 2nd set of nodes. But today I woke up and could see massive leaf deg so straight away I clipped the leaf of carefully from the 3rd set of nodes. As you can see in the pic. It spreaded quickly. The damage is done. I really should have flushed/flooded her, and tried to drain any unwanted gathered nute build up. Causing a burst in the amount of nitrogen build up and was released. So, when it hits the 8hr dark window I'm going to flood her. I'll be putting up sticks through the drainage holes and lifting the base of the pot up, the whole point of the sticks is to break through the 4 layers of different substrate and to make sure, or at least try to prevent fluid build up. Should help. And then I'll leave her to dry out for 3 days and restart the nute process. On a much smaller scale. Here's the water I tested 24hrs after her 1st flush. Have decided to do 3 in a total over 3 days. The plant itself, well, I got to it too late. I think the damage on the new start of the colas on the 3rd set of nodes is already done, they are all burnt/deformed and showing signs of stunted growth. Maybe the only fix at this point is to take the 3rd set of nodes :-( Really, I have 3 options, none of them is a quick fix and will either results in some luck, and she might grow through it. Option 2 Take the 3rd set of nodes and focus on what's healthy. Option 3. Scrap her, leaving nada. Well I think doing that would be stupid. I'm going to try and salvage something out of her. It's not like I can reuse the space for another plant as it's too late to do another. So, I'm going with option 4. I'm gonna run with the 3day flush and see will she grow through it. 3/1/22 2nd flush dropped the PPM 500. Took some leafs of, hopefully it'll help the burnt leafs with growth. 4/2/22 3rd flush. Dropped another 300, after 2nd flush she was standing up the best she has since her growth, clearly she was being destroyed by nitrogen and a crazy EC. The CBD/ZKITTLEZ are topping out at 1520 and the same PH. Think I'll give her 1 more flush to get the PPM to at least 1000/1300PPM 1.2/1.7 EC. PH is ideal. All nutes have been stopped. Except the enzymes of course, what EC is there still needs to be broken down, as just cause she's getting flushed that won't stop the uptake of nutes and growth. Only been giving a light 50ml mix of tarantula/piranha a few hours after her flush. Water was taken out of fridge. Giving cold water, idk if it'll help, all I know is nute uptake is slowed down drastically when water is colder. Dunno how this help if at all. Just giving info of what I'm doing. 8degree water. PPM 65 PH 6.15 1L per flush. 900ml return. Why I give 24hrs in between flushes.. Bad news. Few hrs later I checked and more deg started showing up on 2 leafs on the 2nd set of nodes and then after 3 mre hrs it was appearing on the 3rd set of leafs on the new nodes. Decided to take all off but 1 that was still coming out of its shoot. Will more than likely take that too. I know, I shouldn't be stripping her like that, but, this was really my only option. Leaf deg was just getting worse as time went by. So, I said fuk it. I'm not gonna keep babyin her. So stripped and hope she recovers. We will see. Even if she gives me 20g I'll be happy at this stage lol. Thanks for Reading gottagrowsometime

Grow Questions

So, I've an idea. With this plant I'm doing mainline right! Sooo, to get quicker growth with her being an auto will it be okay to take the 1 set of nodes off, and whatever grows after until I've reached the nodes I want to mainline, this wuld be ok and speed process right?

Each fan leaf is food. If you strip the small growth that happens between the main stock then yes. But keep as many leaves as possible. Once you strip that growth the energy from the fan leaf gets diverted to the next node

Read D. And see what I've tried 2do wit lacking exp. So, as you see, de node I have marked is on the 2nd set. I removed the lowest fan leaf to promote growth on 2st set of underdeveloped nodes. 1 worked great for one but there has been no change in this one at all. Read down

Just leave it as is. Its an auto, striping or removing it may stress the plant to much on top of the other things. I would avoid removing any other fan leaves/stems and just tuck them under branches for now. The plant is still small and if its now in flower it will not put on much new growth. Over all its a bit stunted but if you get a harvest out of it, it will be a great success for a new grower. Good Luck and Happy Growing!

Oh I'm glad I found this diary! I'm growing Tangerine Dream Auto as well... I'm going to follow this grow - it'll be fun to compare notees! I'm glad to read you've put your lady through hell and high water and she still comes back swinging... I just had a reall scare with mine - soil became TERRIBLY acidic - still don't know how - but I flushed her and she doesn't seem to have noticed anything was wrong... I just didn't want to lose her - she's a monster! Can't wait for harvest! Good luck with the rest of your grow!

@GrowingGrannie, wow, just looked at yours holy crap. What a strain she is. I started her out in compost then added full programme of nute, clearly I was one of them growers who thought you planted q seed and start of from.12=12 from start to finish lol. Oh, how silly, and if some ppl say they also thought that wouldn't surprise me and when I first seen 500g per plant, doesn't poxy say that's the whole plants weight haha. Yeah she's a hardy little bitch. You have treated her right I just wanted to see how far I could push a plant in them conditions cause wanted results so I could be careful with my organics, so much love for this strain, very easy to learn from and very forgiving. Thanks for dropping by man.

You see I go absolute other way, I love to harm them, but in times when they are ready and big, I ussually even if do huge LST , never top. No harm till week 5 if I veg 6-8 weeks. If it's autos I harm only on 2-3 week of flower. Will I harm at day 40-45 of flower always depends on how my plants are supported, can I move them, do they really need it, will I have time ... Good luck in your transporting grow ;)

gottagrowsometimecommented3 years ago
@AsNoriu, well you can keep autos on 24hr light if you wanted and they still flower on their own. Reason why most don't 12-12 from seed is the light gives it growth. But with autos it doesn't really matter, most stop and change to 12/12 cause they have limited space height or whatever. Just don't change the time say from 12-12 to 18-6 start from 18-6 But autos will flower and fully grow all the way to the end might take a little longer but no you won't harm them. Happy growing friend.

@Mz876, yeah, they are a good breed. Fastbuds seems to be for resilient, and forgiving for beginners. But, Barneys are good too, reliable. Anyways thanks for dropping by. I'll check in on your recent grows in a couple weeks. Happy growing :-)

Fair grow for a first time. I looked through a few veg pics, didn't see the N tox you mentioned, but the eyes are better than a photo. 75 dry grams is a decent haul, enjoy Thanks for helping grow the community with your GOTM answers
