12/23: Soaked a single Durban Poison seed in small measuring cup filled with water for 12 hours before placing it in a damp paper towel inside a ziplock bag sealed 90%. I leave the bag slightly open to allow air to enter/escape 12/25: Placed the germinated seed into a solo cup filled with Fox Farm Happy Frog soil with 20% perlite.

Week 3: Ms. Durban is growing well, just like the Lemon Haze the last 2-3 days she’s probably doubled in size. Zero Issues will continue to water her pH’d to 6.5. Her first feeding will be when she is transplanted into a larger pot in 5-7 days. Topped her at the 5th node on day 19

Week 4: Rough start for this girl in week 4. She’s actually growing really well and has great root structure just that she’s used up all the nutes in the solo cup and is hungry for more. I decided today was as good as any to transplant so on Day 22 she got moved into her 5 gallon final home. The bottom 1/3 of the pot was filled with the remaining fox farm strawberry fields soil I had and the top 2/3 was filled with fox farm ocean forest mixed with earthworm castings, Down To Earth Bat Guano, Alfalfa Meal, Kelp Meal, and 4-4-4 Vegetable bloom. I also added Extreme Gardening Mykos to the transplant hole and plant root ball. To complete the transplant she was watered in to a pH of 6.5. Middle of the week she was fed a high nitrogen compost tea of kelp, alfalfa meal, bat guano and worm castings.

Week 5: She is growing the best of all the plants in the garden. Responded well to the LST and topping as she has tons of new growth showing every day. Also has recovered nicely from the early magnesium deficiency that she suffer from. Plan is to keep watering when needed and hit her with another round of food in a week. Also started adding Fish Sh*t to her waterings.

Today starts week 6 of veg. She’s probably doubled in size over the past 4 days. I’ve continued to add Fish Sh*t to all of her waterings and will now be adding recharge once a week along with bloom city silica boost. The plants have really responded well to having these added to their waterings. To start the week I also amended the soil with Down to Earth 4-4-4 Vegetable Garden and 7-3-1 Bat Guano along with a healthy dose of earthworm castings. Plan is to veg her out another 2-3 weeks before flipping to flower. 36 hours after using ReCharge and Fish Shit for their waterings and all I can is WOW. The plants LOVED this stuff. Probably the biggest 36 hour difference I’ve ever noticed. This will now be a staple in the garden.

Week 7: I’ve decided to add a few new tools to the garden to provide the plants some more room and to improve my grows. I purchased two new Mars-Hydro FS-E3000 lights and a new 39x39x71 Mars Hydro Grow tent. The current 2.5x2.5x5 tent which these girls are in will become the new auto-flower tent and these will get moved to the bigger tent. This will give me some more space for both my photos and autos while greatly improving the lighting in both tents. My 2x2 Mars Hydro tent and TS-1000 will be now used to start seedlings and provide a veg area for small plants. With that all said this Durban girl doing great through 6 weeks of Veg. She is showing some minor tip burn but nothing to get worried about. With her growing at the rate she is I will be flipping her to flower once I get the new tent and lights all set up in the next day or two. She will be getting a feeding of Gaia Green 2-8-4 Power Bloom at a 3/4 rate before I flip as well as a light defoliation.

She’s onto flower. Showing Pistols 48 hours after the flip to an 11 on 13 off light schedule. She is doing great and is the biggest of the three in the tent. As she’s a true Sativa I added the first layer of trellis netting in anticipation of her stretch. 8-9 weeks of flower ahead for this girl.

Week 9: Through 8 weeks and another healthy plant in this Mars Hydro 39x39. This Durban girl is the biggest of the 3 and is loaded with bud sites. She is drinking a 1/3 gallon of water every other day. I’ve been adding FishShit to every watering and Re-Charge along with Fox Farm bush doctor Cal-Mag once a week.

Week 11: Onto the 4th week of flower for this girl. She is happy, healthy and developing nicely. I’ve been sticking to my regular feeding schedule as I’ve seen zero reason to change anything. She wants a drink every other day like the other two girls in the tent. Each plant has been given a 1/3 gallon of water which leads to slight to minimal runoff.

Another week of loving life for this Durban girl. She is packing weight and adding frost every day. I’ve continued the same feeding schedule as I have the previous 4 weeks of flower and won’t be making any changes as long as she is doing as well as she has.

Week 6 of flower for the Durban Poison. She is showing true sativa characteristics as her buds are the slowest of the 3 to develop and gain girth but she has shown substantial gains over the last 2-3 days and only expect her to continue to do so. I’ve had to tie up some of the colas on her as her stalks are the tallest and thinnest of the three. Like the other two girls she was given 5 TBSP of the Gaia Green 2-8-4 power bloom as her final dry amendment feeding. She should be anywhere from 4 to maybe 5 weeks out.

Through 6 1/2 weeks of flower and all of the heavy lifting is done for this girl. Her buds have fattened up quite a bit over the last 7 days and I’m continuing to see them swell. I’d say more then 50% of her pistols have turned brown and she has developed a very distinct “Durban” smell which is unlike any other strain I’ve had before. I’d say she has another 2 weeks to finish out so nothing but water from here until harvest.

Another week of flower in the books and things are going great. She is getting her fall fade on and her buds are really plumping up nicely over the last few days. What went from by far the smallest bud structure a week ago to getting comparable to the other girls in the tent. Still the smallest but her overall yield has probably doubled in the last week which was really nice to see. The smell this plant puts off is just awesome, very strong pine smell with that Durban stank that almost makes your eyes water. Very enjoyable. Water from here on out, my guess is she will be ready for harvest in 10 days putting her right at 9 weeks of flower.

We are through 8 weeks of flower and things are about as great as can be. Her buds have really fattened up the last 7-10 days easily doubling her yield as well. You can tell the buds are fatter and heavier not only by appearance but the fact that they are flopping over and need to be held upright by gardening ties. The trichomes on this girl are milky and her smell is strong, I fully expect to cut her down sometime in the next 7 days.
