Placed 1 seed in a measuring cup filled with water and let it soak for 12 hours before covering with a moist paper towel and placing in a zip-lock bag sealed 90% to let air in and out.
The germinated seed was then placed into 3 Gallon pot. Bottom half of the pot is Fox Farm Strawberry fields top half and equal mix of ocean Forrest and Happy Frog. Added to all soil mixtures was a mixture of worm castings, DTE Bat Guano, DTE 4-4-4, DTE 4-8-4, Epsom Salts, and Seabird guano. The goal was to create an organic living soil for the plants to feed off of for the first 30-40 days. I’m planning on finishing them out with compost and banana teas.
Calling this the redemption run because I think I chopped my first Blueberry auto down way to early. Although she appeared to heave large buds when dried out they were light airy and very disappointing. I’m holding myself to much higher standards this run and am hoping for much higher quality.
Week 1: She sprouted and had sever helmet head. The seed casing was firmly stuck to one of the cotyledons bad enough that it actually killed one of them. I thought she was toast but after a few days of little to no growth her first true leaves sprouted and are now growing well.
Week 2: She was a little stunted due to the fried cotyledon for a few days but has picked up her growth in the last couple of days. I propped her up a bit with some gardening wire to keep her standing tall and straight. Nothing but water pH’d to 6.5 until she tells me she needs something else.
Week 3: She’s growing well, zero issues. Continuing to water at pH of 6.5. She’s showing signs of being bigger then the first blueberry grow, doubled in size the last 3 days. Would love to see her double in size the next 3.
Week 4: This blueberry is much bigger then the last. She’s growing real well and like the Bubba is already showing signs of pre-flower. This will also be her last week of Veg. Next watering will be with 4-8-4 Rose and Flower at a half rate and then she will be finished out with high phosphorus compost and banana teas.
Week 5: She’s started to flower at about 26-28 days in. Her next watering will be with a soil amendment of 4-8-4 Rose and Flower from down to earth with a hearty mix of worm castings. She is super healthy so I will water when needed and continue the low stress training through the next few weeks of Flower.
She’s continuing to grow like crazy. Fed her the 4-8-4 Rose and Flower with a cup of earthworm castings.
Week 6: Zero issues beginning week 6. Have added fish shit to the daily watering and recharge and Bloom City silica every 7-10 days. Leaves are pointing up and she is health.
Week 7: She’s in her 3rd week of flower and everything seems to be doing good. She’s been packing on weight and frost. Her fan leaves have been praying to the Mars Hydro gods so I know she’s happy. I top dressed her mid week with a cup of earthworm castings and 3 TBSP of the Gia Green 2-8-4 Power Bloom (the stuff stinks, which usually means it’s good!)
Week 8: This girl is doing well, zero issues through the first seven weeks. She is a lot frostier then the other Rocket Blueberry I grew but like her sister is small at only 13 inches tall. This will be another small yielding plant, just hoping for some quality smoke however little I get.
Thru 8 weeks and this blueberry is doing great. She’s got a lot more trichome development then the first run. Buds are thicker everyday and appear to be quite dense. She’s sporting a few red hairs on the main cola but 90% are still white. I would guess she’s got another 12-14 days left before harvest.
Week 10: She really started to fade over the last 4-5 days. I am really happy with her bud structure and trichome development. Her buds are dense and super frosty with a strong but pleasant smell. She is done with any nutrients and will receive nothing but water for the next 2 maybe 3 waterings to finish her out. I expect to chop her down in in the next 7-10 days.
This grow was way better then the first Blueberry. Great bud structure, excellent smell and terpine profile. I will post more once she’s dried and cured.
