Hello. Welcome to the first week of Sister Amnesia Lemon. They have been in the cloning cupboard for about 3 months and don't look in peak condition. About 5 years ago I got a package of Amnesia Lemon 5 fem seeds from Barneys Farms. 4 of the 5 seeds popped. all 4 plants were great plants. The 2 that didn't make it had a bubble gum taste and good sized buds. But that was not the flavor I was looking for. It said Amnesia Lemon so I wanted a lemon taste and a big head high like Amnesia Haze. I got 1 lemon tasting plant and I did a diary on it when I joined Grow Diaries a few years later Check it out if your interested, it has this plant in it as Sister Amnesia Lemon. This plant had the biggest yield in the greenhouse that year with close to 400 g. This plant is a energy giver and I smoke it in the morning after I've been up an hour or so. It has a great head high and if I squat too long I get a good head rush, a few times I almost went down after standing up too fast. Great stuff, I love that part. This plant tastes like a spicy Hindu Kush and the it has lots of resin. My best guess is about 22% THC and not much CBD. This plant has some length between leaf sets, so training will be a must. My new lights. I've been wanting some LED's for a while and bought some Mars Hydro FC-4800. I've got them turned to 40% now for the plant to get used to them but they make more light than my old HID light did. And it's more of a white light to my eyes. I'm hoping they will be easier on the electric usage bill too. I've bent up my tomato cages to let them grow out with training instead of just up and topping. So here we go. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 1 of veg and the start of week 2 . The plants have recovered from the repotting stress and are putting out new growth. One of the The White clones is not doing well. I think somehow the roots got damaged and I might take it out if it doesn't pick up soon. With the hydroponic system root problems can transfer to other plant if I'm not careful. This plant Sister Amnesia Lemon can stretch a bit so I'll top the leading tips to slow the growth up, this week. And I will take clones of all these plant because this is the room where I keep all my favorites. I was flipping through some old stoner books and thought I would post some pictures of Fat Freddy's Cat one of my favorites. I wore sweatshirts and t-shirts with him on them and people wouldn't know that they were stoner shirts (except for the stoners). When I went out with the FFC shirts on, every once and a while I would catch a old hippie or stoner smiling at me knowingly. You can buy transfer sheets for ink jet printers that you can iron on transfer pictures to cloth. I live in Canada and I've seen them at Staples and Monks office supply stores. Just make sure you reverse the image so you can read the words.

Hello. This is the end of week 2 of veg and the beginning of week 3 of veg I was planning to do a trim and clippings for clones tomorrow. Then let the plants heal for a few days and then switch to flowering. These new lights are strong. I have them set at 40% and I took a measurement with my light meter and alot of the top tips that were 2 foot away were as high as the HID's at 1 foot away. Some of the plants I have now are on the tallish side and stretched sometimes 5 or 6 inches between leaf sets. With these strong lights I don't get as much length between leaves. A good thing for bigger more dense buds. Oh Boy can't wait. I'm thinking about how I'm going to tie up buds. I don't want to put a net in here, so I'm thinking about it before I need to do something about it. That's all for now. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of veg stage and the beginning of 10 weeks of flowering. I did last week a good pruning of sucker branches and removal of a lot of fan leaves. The plants have healed and I have turned the lights over to flowering. That's 12.5 hours on and 11.5 hours off. I like that extra 1/2 hour first thing to warm up the room and plants before their first feeding of the day. The last feeding of the day is at 5 p.m. and the lights go off at 8 p.m. That leaves 2 1/2 hours for the pots to drain before lights out. My next pruning will be at 2 1/2 to 3 weeks into flowering. Let the plants heal for about 3 weeks between pruning's and you won't have problems with plants going hermie unless other stresses are involved (light too close, temp swing too high between light on/off, pests and mold). With spring coming I've been thinking about what I'm going to do this year in the greenhouse. I made a cross of Amnesia Lemon and Dr. Atomic Northern Lights #5 about 18 months ago. I call it Lemnesia Lights about 75% indica and I hope to be crossing it with Super Sativa Clubs - Kosher Haze about 60% to 70% indica. If I can't find a good male in the Kosher Haze I'll see if I can get a good male from the Lemnesia Lights to make the cross stronger. The Amnesia Lemon from Barney was mold resistant and that's the way I'm going to try to go because we have a lot of powdery mildew outside around here in the last 1/2 of the summer. O.K. till next week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 1 and the beginning of week 2 of flowering. Hope you all are enjoying the Fat Freddie's Cat cartoons. After we finish the Fat Freddie's Cat we'll go on to the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. Everything in the grow room is going well. These new mars Hydro light are spreading the light around well. and the plant seem to like them. After the first week of flowering the stretch is starting. With my other HID lights the stretch was definitely more because these new lights are getting more light to a bigger area and that will slow the stretch down. So I've turned up the lights to 50% and another10% next week. Still learning about them and seeing what they can do. With more light the plants are eating more and I've had to turn on the dehumidifier too because they are putting out more moisture. I don't like to mess with the plants for the first couple of weeks of flowering because it slows them down going into flowering so the end result is different. I want them going into flowering but do some trimming before the resin production kicks in. If the plants end flowering in 8 week do the trimming at 2 weeks into flowering. If the plants end flowering in 10 weeks do the trimming around the third week. So it will be a couple of more week before I can take some more fan leaves off to reduce the humidity. Thanks for helping. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 2 and the beginning of week 3 of flowering. If your interested, please read the plant deception in week 1. Things are going too good in the grow room this week. The stretch is on. Most of my plant are tallish and the Pink Kush has taken over. Man these lights are strong and the plants are growing very well and filling in all the spaces. I'm going to have to get in there and do my last major pruning/trimming this week. I bent up some Super Cropping clips/holders and bent the tallest branches of the Pink Kush to slow the upward growth of the stretch and get some super cropping going. The clips are so the plant can't straiten out the branch after healing it. Make sure you pinch the branch first, Don't just bend it over you need to soften it first but not too much or the top will just fall over. Keep grown straight. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 3 and the beginning of week 4 of flowering. Everything is going great this week. I was in there earlier this week and put a string around each plant they were starting to spread and did my last trimming/pruning. Other than the odd fan leaf I'll take off I'll leave the plants alone till harvest. I'll need to get in there soon and tie up the plants better, I know I'll get some heavy buds later. I found a hermie in my other tent, so I'm hoping that no pollen found it's way in here. I've noticed some fungus gnats in here. I thought I had got rid of them when these plant were clones waiting to go into this room. This is the only room that I don't use Diatomaceous Earth in. I will use some Spinosad in the reservoir. It's a spore that attack's pests and is harmless to most other things. We are getting more unusual weather tonight. It's going down to -7 c. And Vancouver will get even colder. Thanks. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 4 and the beginning of week 5 of flowering. I need to get in there tomorrow and tie up those buds before they get too heavy and start falling over. I've still got part of the tomato cages that I bent, to attach a pole to. Everything is going good in here this week. These plant have started throwing out some strong sweet terps with these new lights that I haven't smelled before. The cross of sweet and fruity from the Dos Si Dos #3 with the citrus hashy smell of the Pink Kush and the cat pee of The White just goes straight to the back of the sinuses. Its sweet but has a citrus/chemical undertone to it. Not quite offence, but makes me take a step back when I smell it. When I walked in to the room earlier this week and smelled it I looked around for something that had spilled and was smelling. I have a hydroponic set up in here and these plant sure have been going through the food since switching over to flowering. With the wider array of lights I can see that the plants are working hard on those smelly flowers. Keep Growing Straight. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 5 and the beginning of week 6 of flowering. Things are going good in this grow room. There are some fungus gnats in here so you might see some brown edges where they bite the leaves. The Pink Kush and Dos Si dos 33 are the tallest and have stopped stretching's up. The smell has settled down some. It is not so chemical now but has some orange undertones. The plants sure are going through a lot of food now. I'm blaming the new Mars Hydro lights. they are making the plant work hard to get more buds out. I've got them up 80% now with some buds 6 inches away and no burning. So far I'm happy with them. That's all for this week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 6 and the beginning of week 7 of flowering. Fungus Gnats are having fun in here. I thought I got them all and they reappeared. I put Pyrethrin Insecticide Powder around all the plant stems and yellow sticky tape. I had put Spinosad in the reservoir but it maybe past its expiry date. It's good for 18 months after it is made. So in the pictures you can see some of the damage. Little Bastards!!! Everything else is going well in this grow room. It's getting nice and frosty in here. See ya next week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 7 and the beginning of week 8 of flowering. Man,, I've had a good outbreak of fungus Gnats this week. Best in years. Wow they just kept coming. I had some old, I mean more than 7 years old, yellow sticky strips and stuck 1 in each pot and 1 up by the lights. There must have been hundreds of them. I put Spinosad in the reservoir twice. They have finally slowed down and I haven't seen any today. But Wow. It's funny I can go along for years and hardly have any problems and then I get hit with things I don't expect. I put some vermiculite and perlite in with the clay balls so the water doesn't go straight through the clay pellets. So I will put some diatomaceous earth in with the perlite next time to cut those dirty little gnats up. You can see the damage they can cause to the leaves, eating the edges the way they do. They liked the Sister Amnesia Lemon but didn't eat the Pink Kush Much. Everything else is doing well in here. This is the last week of food for the plants. And I will be starting to flush next week. See you then. Chuck.

Flushing Tap Water 100 mll
Hello. This is the end of week 8 and the beginning of week 9. of flowering. The flushing has started with harvest in 2 weeks after 2 days of darkness. Man, These plant have been abused by fungus gnats this cycle. I only saw one or 2 and didn't think too much about it until they exploded. Wow. haven't had a explosion of gnat's like that in a while. I'll be using diatomaceous earth in everything I put in pots for the next little while. Other the the gnats everything is going good in here. The plants are still going through a good amount of solution each day. But I have started flushing now. I add some Hydrogen Peroxide to the flush water. I have added 1 1/2 ounces of 29% HP to 5 gallons of water. The HP adds oxygen to the water but it also kills the friendly fungus and microbes (and fungus Gnats) so the plant has to fight harder to get the last nutrients it can out of the soil and fan leaves. To me this mean better and cleaner taste in the finished buds. I used to use it all the time until I found out about it killing the good fungus. Now I only use it in flush. It also hates root rot and adding it at the end will help to get you through to the harvest without root rot. Se ya next week Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 9 and the beginning of week 10 of flowering. I will have a few days of dark at the end of this week and then harvest. You can see the damage the fungus gnats did on the leaves. They are not just going yellow they are going crispy too. Note to self - Be better prepared for the next time. Be more proactive. The lights are penetrating the canopy better than the HPS lights I had going before. I was looking at the bottom stock and was surprised to see those buds were dense, not just popcorn buds, See the pictures. So far I'm pleased with the lights. Thanks for looking in. Chuck.

Hello. This is the last look before harvest for Sister Amnesia Lemon and the others. Except for the flood of fungus gnats, this flowering went well. Because I have a medical cannabis license I was thinking about sending some of these buds in to be tested (it's free with the license purchase). Flushing is finished and there will be a few days of dark and then harvest. Thanks for checking in. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of SAL -Sister Amnesia Lemon. This is a great plant even if it's not the best producer in the room. I also had a fungus gnat explosion (haven't had one of those in a while. It caught me off guard.) and they loved this plant. When I grew this plant in the greenhouse a couple of years ago it was the biggest producer and it's mildew resistant I found this out because there were other plant in the same greenhouse with PM. I got new light too. With my other HPS lights this plant produced over 3 ounces per plant of great quality buds. But 2 plant under these new lights is close to 9 ounces. That's quite an increase. Some of the other plant produced close to 300 g each, that's 10 ounces per plant. WOW, I should have switched years ago. Right Plant was just at the edge of the lights Wet weight - 956 g Dry weight - 106.5 Left Plant Wet Weight - 1182 g Dry Weight - 146.5 g Because I showed all the other plants in the pictures of this diary I'll share with you the dry weight of them. Pink Kush -there were 2 plants Dry Weight - Right Plant 275.5 g Dry Weight - Left Plant 275.5 g WOW. What are the chances of them being the exact same weight. And I'm rather careful with the weight. How about this 1/2 kilo from 2 plants where they produced just over 3 ounces each before under the HPS lights. Dos Si Dos #33 Dry Weight - 294 g - all I can say is WOW! The White - Whitey Dry Weight - 247 g Amnesia Lemon -the one from the other diary Dry Weight - 264 g Total dry weight for 7 plants is --- 1608.5 g -- 57.4 ounces. I'm just totally amazed with these new lights. I mean that is as much as I can get for a average year in the greenhouse with 5 or 6 plants. If you want to see for yourself look at my total weight for the Pink Kush and Dos Si Dos #33 in my other diary's labeled Pink Kush and Dos Si Dos #33. Thanks For Following. Chuck.
