I started the flush on Tuesday 4/19. I chopped both plants on Saturday 4/23. The Trichomes are just about perfect in my estimation: > 5% clear, 10% amber, 75% cloudy. This is my first time drying the whole plant (I have always wet trimmed in the past). I read a bunch of good stuff about how hanging the whole plant and dry trimming makes better bud, so I'm giving it a shot. My main concern is possible mold with how tightly compact these plants are. I am keeping the humidity between 50% - 55% right now. I am hoping these plants will be dry enough by next weekend to start trimming and jar curing.

@Bertoxxulous,no problem brother. I haven't grown sour apple yet but I have def. Enjoyed it before haha. It's on stand by but not sure when I'll get some in. My plans keep changing. As for drying. If you get into a situation where you are drying to fast, iv found that using a turkey foil tray with lid has been very useful. Lid on for a day or half a day and then crack the lid for the same period of time back and forth. It will buy you potentially several days. Alot of commercial grows use the hang first method for 7-10 days, cut buds off or in some cases just cut branches singular and fill plastic totes. Then go to trim stage. I tried this during lower humidity stages. Shoe box is decent too. In the end the very best way is to never get to that point to where u need to slow it down but we grow at home it's hard. Haven't confirmed just yet but I'm about to chop very soon a grease monkey that is the most dank iv ever had yet. I took extra proper care with my very tight schedule of her and introduced UV light. I think it may have been a game changer. I think I have $65 into it. 2 foot grow brite brand t5 light bar and reptisun UVB 10.0 bulb to fit it. This might bring that extra flavor and potency that a small couple plant at home grower is missing. Iv had a handful come out better than I ever expected but I really am seeking that extremely potent batch. Effects I'm happy with what I have created but I feel like my flavor spectrum (terpenes) have been in the 6.5 or 7/10 range at best. 1 of the most amazing looking and growing plants and strains with a heck of alot of hype of flavor was average. It blew my mind that what I was holding didn't taste extremely amazing and potent. Could in the end just be strain related but now I have grease monkey and I know exactly what she is supposed to taste and be like. I honestly think this one might be commercial quality in all categories. I feel at least a few times out of these grows that iv had the density, bag appeal and effects of a top quality bud on high times magazine. Yet that 1 box that would never let's just say for example jokingly, win a cup! And I want that cup winning flavor. Not compete at a cup but to complete my medical needs. I always say, our "medicine" works best when we enjoy the taste. Therefore I chase the flavor. The effects usually follow. Not always typically the case. Enjoy brother enjoy. Take a look at my grease monkey mom. And don't laugh at possible my 2nd ever dying plant. Dwc clone of grease monkey went from healthiest ever to dying OVER NIGHT. Root situation, found a small larvae and or worm like thing in the roots of more than 1 plant but only one suffered. Thank God for hydrogen peroxide. It saved my plants from death I think this particular one is gone. It has ZERO fan leaves left in a matter of days and sadly it started the night B4 I left for almost 4 days. There was no hope for it. Haha learning is fun and I learn every day. Thanks to the community for knowledge and the will to do this and experience it. The best way to learn.

Just want to chime in. This looks great dude. Good call to hang whole plant. Remove the large fan leaves though for the hang. Dry trimming is the best way and is actually easier when I thought wet would be, it is not. Your bud will take longer to dry which is needed. You need to shoot for 10-14 days of drying. Move your humidity after 3 or 4 days from 50/55 up to 60 area. Keep filter sucking, but don't blow your fans at the plants hanging. You will be fine. Don't hope to trim by next weekend because it may be to early. I get why it would be good timing but don't rush a thing here. Once you trim, go right into GROVE BAGS made for curing. Otherwise, use jars with NO boveda packets to start. Get a 5 pack of cheap hydro meters that fit in your jar. If they are up in the 60+ range you won't need packets for a few weeks. Just burp the jars twice a day to relieve the moisture and stale air. Then after the meters reach 59% or less I would introduce the packets. (Don't judge the hydro meters until about 12-24 hours after putting the bud in so they can moisten up and then give you an accurate reading) it takes just alil time for the moisture to return and it usually will unless you have over dried the product. Make best judgement. Outside of buds will become crisp, branches may start to snap not bend but when u squeeze the bud u may just slightly still feel a low % of moisture is within the bud, this is perfect time to trim. Good luck, I'm actually about to order sour apple auto. I love this strain but have several photos lined up and need a few autos to fill in. This seems like it's doing well enough to include in my garden. Keep it up I'll stay tuned to watch your updates. Be patient and your bud will be what you want it to be. 👍👍

@exclusiveX420, That's what it's all about IMO. Experimenting and finding out what works for you. Good luck!

@Bertoxxulous,thanks I actually ended up buying food grade hydrogen peroxide to start using regularly now. The UV roots I have read into more and see that for what it's doing and being used for. When i top off my pots after a few days with just fresh water. I need to add UC roots again because it's being depleted after 2-3 days. Further research on what's best for me. We will see

@exclusiveX420, I looked into the UC Roots stuff, and it looks like it is a different type of product than Hydroguard. Hydroguard puts beneficial microbes (why you don't want to use peroxide/H2O2 with it) in your solution that prevents negative microbes from causing root rot. It essentially chokes out bad microbes. I haven't had root rot bad enough to encounter what you have, but I know those are symptoms.

@ChefDan420, Hell yes man! It's the only way to go in my book with how I've got things setup. I'm still trying to figure out when the best time to let things grow through though....I definitely don't have that dialed in quite yet. I would have probably done a better job with a photo for that because I'm more familiar with them. I did some heavy-ish defoliation again Tuesday, and a bunch of tucking today. I think I'm going to let things grow through from here on out. Per the breeder, I've only got 4 weeks left till harvest (although it may go longer).
