Start of my second grow! Had to take last year off after the first grow, but I'm back. Going with all Mephisto girls this time around.
Going with Bio Tabs starter kit this time around, and prepared soil according to FastBuds article on Bio Tabs. Top half BioBizz Light-mix soil, and bottom is Biobizz All-mix. Planning to not add the Bio Tabs tablets until week 3-4.
I am using 2 gallon / 9 liter pots. They are about 15-20% large than my last run.
Prepared the soil and added MYCORTEX at 5grams per 1l of soil. The soil was soaked 20 hours before planting the seed with 1g of Bactrex + 5ml of Orgatrex per liter of water, 2.5 liters in each pot.
Seeds were soaked for about 14 hours in purified water. All the seeds sank at the end of 14 hours, then they were planted directly into the soil at about 1cm deep on 22nd of January.
26/Jan - The seedling is above ground! It's a bit smaller than the sisters, and the shell is still very much on. Going to spray it a little and put a see through plastic cup on it in hopes the shell comes off in a day or two. Going to get the tweezers ready just in case.
28/Jan - day 3 - Unfortunately this seed had it's husk stuck on it after it came above ground. I misted for a day with a dome, but it stayed on. I removed the husk yesterday and while it opened up a little bit today, it's still behind the sisters. Going to see how she bounces back in a few days.
Just in case, I soaked another Ghost Toof seed and planted beside this one. Will decide which one to keep in the pot in a few days.
29/Jan - day 4 - Put the back up seed in the soil beside the stunted seedling
30/Jan - day 5 - The stunted seedling opened up a bit and the first leaves are getting slightly bigger. Might keep it after all.
01/Feb - day 7 - It's stunted, looks like runt and only one cotyledon developed initially. But I'm gonna keep her and see how it goes. I'm sure she will recover fine, but she looks about 3-4 days behind the rest,
Runt of the litter... she is still going though :D
This week hasn't been good. Cold Temperatures outside meant it's not gotten above 15 celcius in the tent... can clearly see how slow they are growing as a result, and drinking very slowly.
05/Feb - Gave 2L water with 1ml/L of Biosys Ecothrive
Still cold, growing slow.
Doesn't help that this Ghost Toof is turning out to be some mutant, and far behind her sisters. But I'm gonna let her keep going and see how she turns out.
13/Feb - Fed 1.5L with 0.25ml/L BioBizz Calmag and 0.25ml/L Biobizz Bio-Heaven
Ugly duckling just keeps going, but not growing out of the mutations... fuck it, gonna see where she goes anyway!
19/Feb - Day 24 - Watered 1.5L with 0.25ML and 0.50ML Bio-Heaven. Thinking of putting in the Biotab into soil this week.
23/Feb - Day 28 - Going slow... low temps have stunted the girls for sure, and I'm suspecting some nutrients are not being delivered to the best abilities either due to it being organic.
25/Feb - Day 30 - Put in the Biotab tablet today and watered 1.5L.
She is finally starting to grow out of the mutation. Leaves are still curled, probably the soil is too hot with the tabs since she is behind. Glad I didn't cull her though!
03/March - Watered 1L with 0.5ml/L Biobizz Calmag. Very light defoliation.
05/March - Day 38 - Watered 1.2L. No nutes, just PHed to 6.6. Minor Defoliation.
I wasn't expecting these to go so long without flowering. Lower temps and high humidity really messed up this grow, but I'm gonna keep going and see where we land.
This one is also a mutant and hasn't really grown out of it.
19/March - Day 51 - 1.2L water.
21/March - Day 53 - 1.2L water with 0.5ml/l Top-max, 0.5ml/l Cal-mag and 0.1ml/l bloomtastic.
23/March - Day 55 - 1L water with 0.5ml/l Top-max, 0.5ml/l Cal-mag at 6.5ph.
She is still mad looking after her mutation, but she is also starting to flower with her sisters.
25/March - Day 57 - 1.2L water with 3ml/l and 1g/l Bactrex. Did some defoliation.
27/March - Day 59 - 1L water with 0.5ml/l Bio-heaven, 1ml/l Top-max, 0.5ml calmag and 0.3ml/l Bloombastic
29/March - Day 61 - 1.3L water with 1ml/l Orgatrex at 6.5ph. Did a decent bit of defoliation to open up the lower buds to light and air, probably last time I'll do it before harvest now unless leaves are dying.
Just like her sisters, I believe the late flowering and the fact that I only added 1 Biotab on week 4, meant that it is more than likely already dissolved as I'm seeing multiple deficiencies.
01/April - Day 64 - Crushed a quarter of a Biotab and sprinkled it on top of the soil before the watering. I also divided one biotab into quarters and put that quarter into the soil for some slow release as well. I may have to do one more top soil topping in a few weeks... we shall see.... I also added 1ml/L Calmag and 1gram/L Ecotrhive Biosys
Also measured run-off PH, which is at 6.3. Going to give 7.0PH water next to try and balance it out.
04/April - Day 67 - Gave 1.5L water with 1ml/l Top-Max, 1ml/l Bio-Heaven, 0.5ml/l Calmag and 0.3ml/l Bloombastic. 6.1PH run-off.
07/April - Day 70 - 1.3L water with 2ml/l Orgatrex and 0.5ml/l Calmag at 6.9ph.
10/April - Day 73 - 1.5L water with 0.5ml/l Calmag, 1ml/l Bio-Heaven, 1.5ml/l Top-Max and 0.5ml/l Bloombastic. Did some defoliation to open up the bud sites to light and remove some of the damaged leaves.
24/April - Day 87 - Been away for over a week on Holidays, during this time a friend gave them just water and they look just fine.
25/April - Day 88 - Gave them a heavy feed, possibly last one before harvest. 1.7L with 3ml/l Top-Max, 1ml/l Bio-Heaven, 1ml/l Bloombastic, 0.5ml/l Calmag and 2ml/l Orgatrex.
28/April - Day 91 - 1.2L with some microbes, 0.5ml/l Bloombastic, 2ml/l Top-max, 1ml/l Bio-heaven
30/April - Day 93 - 600ml with 1ml/l Orgatrex, 0.3ml/l bloombastic
3/May- Day 96 - 300ml with 3ml/l Top-max, 0.5ml/l Bio-heaven, and 0.3ml/l bloombastic... this one stopped drinking last week and buds stopped fattening. I'm going to let her dry out completely and maybe do a quick flush.
I think the end is in sight, at least for the top colas. I am debating a partial harvest as I certainly struggled with space this grow, which means the lower bud sites are not as developed yet.
6/May - Day 99 - 1.5L water with 2ml/l top-max. Defoliated a bit more and did some extra LST to open up the bud sites to more light.
8/May - Day 101 - 1L water with 0.5ml/l Bloombastic and 1ml/l top-max.
10/May - Day 103 - 1.2L water with 4ml/l top-max, 1ml/l bio-heaven and 0.2ml/l bloombastic
13/May - Day 106 - 1.7L with 0.5 Bloombastic.
16/May - Day 109 - 2L water. No nutes, at 6.5PH. Starting the flush, and also have a usb-c microscope coming in a day or two cause using a loupe is a pain in the ass . Planning on chopping Friday/Weekend.
This was a weird one, which I assume was due to it being a freebie, which would mean it's an F1 cross. The first few weeks she was a mutant, hardly even resembling cannabis leaves and growing very slowly. After week 5 or so, she complete grew out of her mutation and started shooting up veritically, making ger the biggest plant in the tent as I decided not to LST her. Unfortunately it ended up producing just a bunch of small nugs instead of any big boulders as a result.
Wet weight after chop and trimming the fan leaves was 271g.
Trim weight: 20g of sugar leaves and tiny buds for edibles.
Final bud weight for smoking: 45g
Total bud weight for smoking this grow cycle: 145g (last cycle was 93g). Second grow a success in my eyes :)
Also ended up getting about 70g of trim to make edibles and about 4g of kief from trimming.
