Whats the best drying temp?

NobodysBudsanswered grow question 3 years ago
if you can extend drying times to 7-14 days, it's probably the "right" temperature. some terps that add flavor and aroma can evaporate quickly at fairly low temps. (evaporation is always occurring, even below boiling point... want an example? go look at an icecube tray 2-3 months after you put it in freezer. the cubes don't get smaller through magic... in this case it is called "sublimation" and not evaporation, but same damn concept, really... 'constantly striving for equilibrium with environment') you know it's too warm or too dry if it is bone dry in 2-3 days... this will impact the buds in a noticeable way, ime. i've had some dry in 4-5 days that tasted no different than a slower dry. So... your mileage may vary. you can almost fee a difference in the plant material when it dries fast... pop a bud on a radiator or something and come back in a few hours, you'll see what i mean. it even breaks up differently. as slow as you can go without growing microbes...

@GROWitALL, Hell yeah! lineage is fun. I get caught up in it sometimes. But man, almost any lineage can produce a winner if you pop enough of em. It'll be fun to watch what comes out of this round :))

@Dirty_Hippy, its from a budlet bag I bought from a dispensary didn't get much on the lineage. Better make sure I ask next time. It'd was really icy and had the chunk top looking budgets structure too it. From my knowledge go is a bit more fluffy and icy but piney. Now that I think of it it looked like the peanut butter breath I had bought along with it. not sure but lets fined out haha

Looking good! Doing a lot right for a second go. Make sure to keep those temp gaps nice and close through veg and early flower. it will prevent stretch. The only tip I could give is up to your lights on and off temps ever so slightly. Lights on being 80-82 F and lights off is no more than 9 degrees less. If you have the time follow my profile and check out my 200 LED 7000 Plants diary and feel free to ask me any questions you may have.

@GROWitALL, No problem my brother I am so glad to hear it helped. That's what makes this all worth it for me, When I hear back from the people I try and help out.

@LegacyMarketFarm, Much appreciated! Shutting the tent vent was the solution! Veg no vents, and flower 1/4 of one vent open works perfect! Appreciate the tips Legacy!

@GROWitALL, Do you have the tent nice and sealed up ? are you running an exhaust fan with the humidifier on? How many pints a day can it mist out? This is the one I use and recommend but it is for big rooms and mists like a beast. I looked up the one you said you have it looks like it might struggle with a larger tent but a 2x4 it should be okay, Make sure all your openings for fans are sealed up good & the tent windows are sealed up tight as well. Try not running your intake fan / out take fan while your misting up the room, try dialing the fan back to a much lower setting. https://www.amazon.ca/DropAir-Humidifier-Quality-Multdirectional-Greenhouses/dp/B00XK4YHYI/ref=sr_1_36?crid=112JNAGZQLXG8&keywords=drop+air+humidifier&qid=1644164917&sprefix=drop+air+humidife%2Caps%2C150&sr=8-36 If you need to shut off your fan to allow it to build up I would suggest trying that. There is always the passive humidity trick of adding in a open bucket of water into the room. In a warmer room, it will really help passively raise your humidity up. I feel the struggle man getting those VPD numbers dialed in becomes an obsession but let me tell you it is well worth it. It is why I would be in each room 20 times a day keeping them dialed in. Let me know if any of that works man if not I will see if there is any other thing we could be missing if you can provide more info. 75% humidity is fairly good for most VPDs in veg except for the most extreme high end ones.

@GROWitALL,. Hell yea bro for your first grow u KILLED it....I hope my first one comes out as good as yours does.....I'm on my first one now. If your open to ONE suggestion that will improve your yeild/bud density, so forth....get either one more sf4000 or, be smart, and send it back just like I did mine....there's way better higher output wattage lights out there. I bout 3 viparspectra and an sf1000 for cheaper than the sf4000(I switched from an 4x4 ac infinity cloulab844 4x4x8 to an ac infinity cloudlab 642 2x4x6 and put the 4 lights in there....they fit but BARELY....go look on my page and check it out if you would like, then u can spend that extra money u saved on a tub of bloom agent or something, get u a mushroom bucket by pro Co2 or an exhale mushroom bag....don't get the cheap ones you'll regret it....also for your humidity get u a GOOD, Not cheap 40 dollar one, like atleast 50 or better on Amazon, get u a good reptile fogger for your humidity control so u can put it outside the tent and have it running into your tent, if you like I can show you mines and you can see what I mean

Damn bro sure is pretty 😍 πŸ”₯ As for a dehumidifier I live in the desert so I don't have to worry much about humidity but I was recommended one by a friend of mine now just looking at your number and the number I just saw on this I'm pretty sure this one is not big enough but since I already went and found it I figured I'd share it with you anyway, I don't know how but maybe it will help you out some how https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WHXH1DC/?coliid=ICIGTTOYZGT4X&colid=3EFOQGELIN2Q5&ref_=gv_ov_lig_pi_dp&th=1

@GROWitALL, the desert is nice for keeping the rh down but it's a fight to get the rh up during veg and drying πŸ˜† I love this hobby it's a challenge ...
GROWitALL
GROWitALLcommented3 years ago
@Cyrusdavirus, Preciate that my friend! I give it a gander They are loving life and want to keep it that way. The desert would be a nice place to grow being that its dry. Its a whopping 80% rh in the basement out here in Missouri. But that's what 300 dollar dehumidifiers are for lol. Bought a 180 dollar one and its ok just have t empty it every 5 hrs. Thanks again growmie! Happy Sunday to you and yours!
