Grow off to a solid start.; no signs of stress as far as I can tell. Watering periodically when soil looks/feels dry. Aiming to keep humidity above 30% (easier said than done in Southern California). Will start LST at the end of this week or first thing next week. Started the week off at roughly 1.5in, finishing roughly 2.5-3in.

Plant is doing well so far. Lightly watering when top soil seems dry - every other day or so. Began LST on day 17, never LST'd before so I hope it goes well.

Week 3: plants are still doing good; no visible signs of deficiencies or excessive stress. Continuing to LST and tucking fan leafs behind bud sites. May look to defoliate and give dry nutrients at the end of the week. Watering roughly every other day, or when top 1in soil feels dry with 1/4 gallon.

(02/22/2022): Start of week 4 and the plants still look good - not quite as large as I would like. I was out of town for 4 days so I was unable to LST. Appears to be at least 3 solid bud sights, hopefully I can get a few more before flowering starts. Will top dress with nutrients at the end of the week. (02/24/2022): Woke up to 99% rh in grow box. Quickly dried everything out. Top dressed with nutrients and watered thoroughly. Looks like pre flowers are starting to develop.

I don't think your plant needs it. It is a useful tool on much larger plants and photoperiods plants. Most people do not need to do it for autos. Using LST is a great option though. When using defoliation I follow a script for it. If the leaves can not be tucked away and they are blocking light or airflow to bud sites then it maybe needed to pluck them. Best Of Luck!

Week's off to a decent start. Noticed signs of flowering late last week and it has taken off in the last few days. I think I had the light too low and that's why it's not very tall (perviously only ~12-15in) - I'm trying to slowly move it up, but it's not that strong so I don't want to raise it too much. The bottom leaves are starting to yellow. Not sure if it's from a nutrient deficiency or lack of light. After top dressing, I also made a tea: equal parts worm castings, vegetable garden 4-4-4, and flower girl 3-9-4, aerated for 12hr in 1/3gallon. Hopefully the yellowing will stop. Watering it when soil appears dry, typically every other day.

Why are my lower leaves turning yellow/brown and crisping up? Is this a nutrient deficiency, the top leaves appear to be good still, but it looks like it's slowly making its way up the plant.

You need to increase your overall N-P-K bro. I see a few Defs there mainly the marco needs. Like nitrogen and phosphorus defs for sure. Coming into pre flowering you should be relaxing on the N as it is really key for growth phase not as much as P-K is needed. But once you start showing P-K issues with most bloom nutes it'll have enough N. So increase your overall feed by 50% I'll look through your nutes. But it's clear signs it's Just a little short on P-K as it needs a lot more when flowering (stigma) starts. Was the pure yellow leafs there a week or 2 cause it looks like it's Just early stages of P def. Nothing major to worry about. Overall your plant looks very healthy your Sub is just in need of more NPK as she's moving into flowering. Real simple fix. I'll DM you after I look through your nutes. And remove them dead leafs they are no good now.

Week is off to an okay start. Plan is showing signs of some sort of deficiency. The bottom leaves are yellowing from the outside, turning crispy, and have brown dry spots on them. Added more nutrients and will order a Cal-Mag supplement to help. Besides that the flowers and top leaves are looking nice. I wish the plant was a little bigger, but hopefully she'll phatten up with time. Turned off the humidifier this week and the grow box stays around 30%. Rotating the plant every other day to try and even light distribution.

What is wrong here? Gave an extra dose of nutes but the problem only seems to be getting worse and spreading up the plant. Definitely effecting the bottom leaves more. Others said to just increase N-P-K ration, but this seems like something specific.

growing with dry amendments can be tricky. You need to have a good microbe life in the soil as they are whats feeding the plants, they break down the whole structured products you put in their like bone/bloodmeals and manures then the plant can take them up. I would expect the over feeding to also be affecting the upper leaves as well where the plant is using it the most vs lower. I have had issues like this in the past and found out it was in relation to the PH of my water and how much I was giving it. I now PH my water to 6.5-6.8 and aerate it before giving to the plants. I would follow the guides on the products for top dressing and mix into the top 1" of the pot. You should be addingg in more soil if there is good root development on the top layer. Then you won't be disturbing the root base to much. I also like to mix it in with a handful of compost or worm castings. As for a calmg product, most dry amendments have plenty of Calcium but sometimes lack in Magnesium, can easily supplement this with some epsom salts or magnesium sulphate. Magnesium Citrate is also an option but way more expensive and almost always combined with binders or other things that are not needed. I use epsom salts with Gaia Green products and they are lacking in MG. they also take sometime to break down in the soil as well. so if you noticed the yellowing and treated it today. its going to take 3-7 days before you notice an improvement. Your NPK of 3-9-4 is good. If you have anything to boot up the K or the last digest "4" I would try and use it. It's not 100% necessary if you don't have it but in the future you will notice the plants like a bit more potassium. Seaweed extracts tend to be aorund .1-0-10 so they are good options. Best Of Luck!

Week 7 is off to a good start. Yellowing of bottom leaves seems to have slowed down after giving a big boost of flower girl and cal-mag. The flowers are continuing to bulk up and are starting to get frosty. I would still like the plant to get a bit bigger overall and may raise the lights again. Starting to smell like weed and it's great.

Should I defoliate? I’ve just plucked a few leaves here and there that were yellowing or exhibiting other problems, but I haven’t done a proper defoliation. Would defoliating still this stage help? Autoflower week 7 (3-4 weeks flowering).

Keep the airflow up if you don't want to get WPM or Bud Rot in there, I would strip some of the leaves off if this was my plant, ultimately its your call, good points on both sides. Good Luck!

Week 8 is off to a good start. Not showing any signs of deficiency after giving some CalMag last week - I will wait another week or so before feeding again. Watering every other day and tucking big fan leaves daily. Starting to smell really sweet and fruity. Hoping the nugs will start to fatten up as they still seem fairly small and airy. Added an extra fan to try and increase air flow. Temps are creeping into the 90s so hopefully the heat doesn't stunt the growth (I have no way of controlling temp in grow box). Weird yellow/brown spots developed on upper fan leaves. Thought it may be a calcium deficiency so I gave extra Cal Mag. I also gave it nutrients this week - it had been about 10 days since the last feeding. Added an extra 600w light to the grow tent to boost bud growth. Hoping the nutrients will solve the problem otherwise I will flush the plant and start a new regime.

Yellow/brown dots appeared midway through week 4 of flowering. More prominent on upper fan leaves. Gave it nutrient tea (flower nute/worm casting/CalMag) so hopefully that will help. Can’t test pH so difficult to tell if it’s lockout. Added new 600W light this week too.

Definitely a calcium deficiency. It is not "lock out". It is not caused by your new light. The old damaged leaves will not recover, but the newer leaves should stay ok if you have upped the cal/mag. You also need to ease up on the nitrogen/feeding, the leaves are very green. Excess nitrogen during flowering can cause loose leafy buds and diminish trichome production. Hope this helps, Organoman.

Week 9 (5th week flower) is off to an okay start. The plant is showing serious signs of a calcium deficiency and potential an excess of something else. I’ve been upping my cal/mag and feeding a little with every watering. I’ve also begun adjusting the pH of my water with general hydroponics down to ~6 (my tap water is highly alkaline) and dechlorinating with old fish tank supplies. Hopefully I’ll start to see an improvement in new leaves in the next few days; otherwise, I will have to flush it. Regardless the buds still look like they’re coming along nicely and smell incredible. Trichomes are starting to cloud up and a few are already amber. I think in another 3 weeks it’ll be ready for the knife.

Looking over your diary and previous question it seem the last one was where you where told this is a Calcium issue. I'd recommend picking answers to your old questions to close them out. The affected leaves will not get better and it will only appear to be working on the unaffected leaves by preventing them from decaying and the others ones from decaying more. If the yellowing/brown spotting has as not spread, then that is the full extent of the fix your going to get. Your diary lists you are PHing your water down to 6, this is a bit low for soil based amendment grows. The low PH harms the natural soil microbe life and allows some of the opportunistic ones to take hold in higher populations. I aim got 6.5-6.8 and it has served me well though all my soil grows. Given this is so late in its life. Stop giving it more nutrients from dr.earth, they will not be broken down in time for the plant to use before it dies. Dry amendments take about a week to be broken down and last for about 2 weeks after that. in total 3 weeks to a month ish. If this was my plant, just give water, don't PH it for the next week. Worry about PHing it down to 6.5-6.8 on the following week. If you wanted to you can also give it a bit of molasses to help boost up the soil microbe life. I do about 1tsp 5ml per 4L. less is more. Can continue to use this until the last week in flower before you chop. No idea how your watering but try not to get any runoff when you water unless their is signs of lock out and the plant is getting burnt from the excess feeding. Best Of Luck!

Plant is showing signs of serious deficiencies, but since it's so close to finishing, I've just been flushing with water. The buds still appear to be getting bigger and will hopefully get more frosty. Noticing some pests in my grow box so I've sanitized everything and added mosquito bits to my watering to prevent flies. Hoping to chop her down in about 2 weeks

Week 11 and the plant is almost ready for harvest. All have the leaves are dying due to age, nutrient deficiency, or pest problem. I noticed signs of spider mites this week and assume they have been wrecking havoc throughout the grow. I plan on washing the buds in a hydrogen peroxide bath before drying. Stopped feeding last week and have been watering with pure pH'd water. Some trichomes are starting to turn amber, but I think it'll be at its peak in a few more days. Plan to give it 2 days of darkness before cutting it down.
