Soaked seed in room temp water for about 60hrs until the tap root was roughly 1/4in (01/20/22 - 01/23/22) Placed seed 1/2in in soil, with the root pointing down, and thoroughly watered (01/23/22) Sprouted and cotyledons emerged 3 days later (01/26/22)

looking good to me, that's how I started mine out. let it grow up a week before more LST is applied. Good Luck!

When should I defoliate; is it even necessary to do so?

I don't think your plant needs it. It is a useful tool on much larger plants and photoperiods plants. Most people do not need to do it for autos. Using LST is a great option though. When using defoliation I follow a script for it. If the leaves can not be tucked away and they are blocking light or airflow to bud sites then it maybe needed to pluck them. Best Of Luck!

Why are my lower leaves turning yellow/brown and crisping up? Is this a nutrient deficiency, the top leaves appear to be good still, but it looks like it's slowly making its way up the plant.

You need to increase your overall N-P-K bro. I see a few Defs there mainly the marco needs. Like nitrogen and phosphorus defs for sure. Coming into pre flowering you should be relaxing on the N as it is really key for growth phase not as much as P-K is needed. But once you start showing P-K issues with most bloom nutes it'll have enough N. So increase your overall feed by 50% I'll look through your nutes. But it's clear signs it's Just a little short on P-K as it needs a lot more when flowering (stigma) starts. Was the pure yellow leafs there a week or 2 cause it looks like it's Just early stages of P def. Nothing major to worry about. Overall your plant looks very healthy your Sub is just in need of more NPK as she's moving into flowering. Real simple fix. I'll DM you after I look through your nutes. And remove them dead leafs they are no good now.

What is wrong here? Gave an extra dose of nutes but the problem only seems to be getting worse and spreading up the plant. Definitely effecting the bottom leaves more. Others said to just increase N-P-K ration, but this seems like something specific.

growing with dry amendments can be tricky. You need to have a good microbe life in the soil as they are whats feeding the plants, they break down the whole structured products you put in their like bone/bloodmeals and manures then the plant can take them up. I would expect the over feeding to also be affecting the upper leaves as well where the plant is using it the most vs lower. I have had issues like this in the past and found out it was in relation to the PH of my water and how much I was giving it. I now PH my water to 6.5-6.8 and aerate it before giving to the plants. I would follow the guides on the products for top dressing and mix into the top 1" of the pot. You should be addingg in more soil if there is good root development on the top layer. Then you won't be disturbing the root base to much. I also like to mix it in with a handful of compost or worm castings. As for a calmg product, most dry amendments have plenty of Calcium but sometimes lack in Magnesium, can easily supplement this with some epsom salts or magnesium sulphate. Magnesium Citrate is also an option but way more expensive and almost always combined with binders or other things that are not needed. I use epsom salts with Gaia Green products and they are lacking in MG. they also take sometime to break down in the soil as well. so if you noticed the yellowing and treated it today. its going to take 3-7 days before you notice an improvement. Your NPK of 3-9-4 is good. If you have anything to boot up the K or the last digest "4" I would try and use it. It's not 100% necessary if you don't have it but in the future you will notice the plants like a bit more potassium. Seaweed extracts tend to be aorund .1-0-10 so they are good options. Best Of Luck!

Should I defoliate? I’ve just plucked a few leaves here and there that were yellowing or exhibiting other problems, but I haven’t done a proper defoliation. Would defoliating still this stage help? Autoflower week 7 (3-4 weeks flowering).

Keep the airflow up if you don't want to get WPM or Bud Rot in there, I would strip some of the leaves off if this was my plant, ultimately its your call, good points on both sides. Good Luck!

Yellow/brown dots appeared midway through week 4 of flowering. More prominent on upper fan leaves. Gave it nutrient tea (flower nute/worm casting/CalMag) so hopefully that will help. Can’t test pH so difficult to tell if it’s lockout. Added new 600W light this week too.

Definitely a calcium deficiency. It is not "lock out". It is not caused by your new light. The old damaged leaves will not recover, but the newer leaves should stay ok if you have upped the cal/mag. You also need to ease up on the nitrogen/feeding, the leaves are very green. Excess nitrogen during flowering can cause loose leafy buds and diminish trichome production. Hope this helps, Organoman.

What is going on here? Started off as a Calcium deficiency so I upped the Cal/Mag, but the problem only seems to be getting worse. It only has 2-3 weeks left so I don't want to do anything too drastic. Any advice is appreciated!

Looking over your diary and previous question it seem the last one was where you where told this is a Calcium issue. I'd recommend picking answers to your old questions to close them out. The affected leaves will not get better and it will only appear to be working on the unaffected leaves by preventing them from decaying and the others ones from decaying more. If the yellowing/brown spotting has as not spread, then that is the full extent of the fix your going to get. Your diary lists you are PHing your water down to 6, this is a bit low for soil based amendment grows. The low PH harms the natural soil microbe life and allows some of the opportunistic ones to take hold in higher populations. I aim got 6.5-6.8 and it has served me well though all my soil grows. Given this is so late in its life. Stop giving it more nutrients from dr.earth, they will not be broken down in time for the plant to use before it dies. Dry amendments take about a week to be broken down and last for about 2 weeks after that. in total 3 weeks to a month ish. If this was my plant, just give water, don't PH it for the next week. Worry about PHing it down to 6.5-6.8 on the following week. If you wanted to you can also give it a bit of molasses to help boost up the soil microbe life. I do about 1tsp 5ml per 4L. less is more. Can continue to use this until the last week in flower before you chop. No idea how your watering but try not to get any runoff when you water unless their is signs of lock out and the plant is getting burnt from the excess feeding. Best Of Luck!
