I harvested my first ILGM LSD Auto this past week. In this grow, I am growing the three LSD seeds I have remaining. They started on Friday in a glass of water, then into the paper towel overnight. They have been planted in three separate A Pot For Pots, two are in 5 gallon pots, and one is in a 2 gallon. I used the "banana peel solo cup" method, where a bottomless solo cup is cut into "peels", which are implanted into the large pot. This helps contain the small amount of water needed to sprout a seedling, and encourages downward root growth. The intention is to avoid transplant stress - which I feel may have contributed to their sister's short stature (20 inches)! The petals are removed once the plant establishes. I added a "smidgen" of Mykos into each planting hole, I am convinced this helped with the amazing root growth I saw in the last grow.
The seeds are currently chilling in their tent with RH around 60%, under a DLI of 10. Temperatures are in the mid 70s. Currently installed is a 100 CFM fan, which is until the plants need more light at which time the 400 CFM will replace it. My large filter is set up to vent outside, and is hanging at light height to help with temperature control - this light runs HOT. I bought it because it was a bargain and twice as powerful as the light I used in my first grow.
I hope to see sprouts in a few days!
1/31/22 - Happy birthday to seed C! She poked her tiny head up this morning, I suspected she would be first. She looks very healthy. Tent at 70-72 degrees (even though the lights accidentally ran 24 hours a day - I hit a slide on the bottom of my timer that sets it to "outlet on" instead of "timer". Whoops! The good humidifier has been moved into the tent and is set at 50% RH. The pots are still tented with plastic, which got a little spray of water to keep the humidity inside their environment up.
2/1/22 - Day 1 - Happy birthday to seeds A and B! They were popping last night, but pulled their little heads above the soil today. So this will be "day one" for the triplets. They all look very healthy, green and strong and showing healthy cotyledons and tiny little first leaves. I'm very pleased! Sprayed their plastic - and check the humidifier, it's holding 50% humidity just fine, though it seems as if it will need a gallon of water a day to keep up. Probably more once the lights start cranking!
Names: A = Audrey Hempburn; B = Betty Weed; C= Claudette Goldburn. "Old time stars" grow!
2/2/22 Happy Groundhog's Day! Too bad about the 6 more weeks of winter... The girls are doing just fine this morning, they got 15 ml each of water, plus their plastic covers sprayed. All seems well with them, I note Betty seems a little "behind" in that she hasn't spread her first leaves yet. I'll be watching her like a hawk for any signs she's turning into a "twisty" which this strain is prone to do. I upped the DLI to 11 today, will add one daily until we hit 15, then likely remove the covers.
2/2/22 Happy groundhogs day! The girls are doing well so far - B is looking a little suspect to me so I'm watching her for any signs of the dreaded "LSD Auto Twisties". I've seen a few of those on my travels, and my first seed went that way. Hopefully all is well though. They are still under plastic for a few more days. Humidifier set for 50% RH, under the domes it is higher. Today they each got 15 ml in a circle around the edge of the cups.
2/3/22 Day 3 - I have decided that Baby B is indeed a mutant. Her first leaves are both pointing in the same direction. I'm going to monitor her closely. My first seed was also a mutant, and the plant never grew and died 2 inches tall two months later. So she's under a close watch, if she doesn't come around quickly she'll be removed from the grow. I did drop two unrelated seeds last night, but they will be raised in my small tent and have a separate journal.
The other two are doing just fine, with Baby C looking the best to me. I will be raising DLI to 12 today, slow and steady. Tent is staying comfortable, around 75 degrees.
2/4/22 Poor Betty! I noticed her cotyledons were taking on a purplish cast last night. I gave her a wee bit of time out of the dome and recovered her at bedtime (I check on the babies at least 3x a day at this age). She still looks pretty much the same, the odd leaves have lengthened a touch, but she's obviously not "normal". Watching her closely, will reevaluate in about a week. Audrey, in the small pot, had dry soil all the way to the bottom, where the super soil is. She had moisture in her cup, so all is well, but I gave the pot about 1/2 cup of water, and a few ml within the cup. (The on-soil hygrometers alerts me to a drop in soil moisture. They are high b/c they are domed atm.) DLI raised to 12 this morning, sure enough, I forgot yesterday. Temperatures are holding nicely, and the humidifier with the hygrometer is doing a bang-up job maintaining RH. I have the tent at 50% while the plants are domed.
2/4/22 PM - Betty has started to move her leaves finally, I was afraid they were plastered to the cotyledons. I'm keeping an extra close watch on her. All of them have grown, to my surprise, Audrey is the tallest today at 2.5 inches, Claudette at 2, and Betty at 1.5. I decided to give them some undomed time, and upped the RH to 65%. They all had the soil outside their Solo cups lightly misted. Audrey is going to need more water since her pot is smaller, so she got a few ml today.
2/5/22 Day 5 - All is quiet in the big tent. I recovered them with domes overnight, and took them off this morning. Set the humidifier at 60 RH and refilled it. Temps held in the high 60s overnight. I put seed in a nursery bag to sprout while I'm re-setting up the small tent after arrival of the new filter system. With the tent at 12 DLI, the nursery bag is at 8 DLI which should be fine. I'm waiting on a second seed, then I'm starting yet another journal for those too.
2/6/22 Day 6 - A big day at the Fizgig Farm - we had a new baby pop. Separate journal for the "new two". The "big sisters" are now all uncovered. They look pretty good to me! Just a light misting of the top of the pots today (it's all coco and perlite so it does dry quickly). Betty is looking greatly improved today. A & C are clearly showing their second leaves, and Betty's first leaves have moved into a more normal position.
2/7/22 Day 7! Last day of their first week. (Reminder to self: start a new week tomorrow....) All looks well, they are out of the domes and doing well. I am starting to hold hope for Betty, still monitoring her closely. She is small, but her leaves are a very good color. Claudette's leaves are paler than her sisters - which prompted the Grow Dot sprinkle - but she seems healthy, so maybe that's "just her".
2/8/22 Day 8. We made it through the first week safely. Claudette is the largest (wonder if it's the fact she sprouted one day ahead of the others?) Her leaves are lighter than her sisters, but she seems perfectly healthy. Audrey is second, her leaves are growing fatter rather than longer like her sister's. Then there is little Betty - who is still hanging in there, but not making much in the way of gains. Another grower assured me all of her LSD plants started out this way, but with an auto I have to wonder if she is just losing a lot of time. Oh well, we will see. Tent at 72 degrees, RH around 60. Today I'm going to give them water with a little silica, Recharge, Root 66, and Magical. They have their Grow Dots so they should be set. Yesterday's DLI was 13, I'll have to see where it is today. It appears to me the plant's growth is keeping them just where they need to be, in regards to DLI. I'll be pushing toward 20 this week.
2/9/22 They are looking good this morning! They all got a drink last night with the supplements listed above, and they all pushed growth overnight. Even poor Betty, who is much smaller than her sisters. Oddly enough, all the plants are roughly the same height, around 2 inches tall. (I had added some extra coco around Audrey's stem.) Will check DLI later - and I upped the RH to 65% after reading over notes about VPD. I scaled out what I need to do throughout the grow - with the knowledge I may have to tweak the "weeks" depending on how they grow. DLI going up to 15 today, or more if they've grown into DLI 15.
2/10/22 Day 10. Took leaf wingspan pics today, Audrey is 1.5 inches across, Betty - .75? Maybe? and Claudette - 3 inches. RH of tent set to 70%, temp at 77 this AM, increased the exhaust a tiny touch. Misted the coco that's outside of the cups lightly.
2/12/22 Day 12 - Claudette is knocking it out of the park! Her leaves are now wider than the cup. Though her leaves have a lighter color, she is doing great and is larger every time I look at her. She will be losing her cup some time early next week. Audrey looks healthy, she's just growing much more slowly. Betty is growing, but she still doesn't look like much. She's got space in the tent as long as she tries, and her 5 gallon pot doesn't get in the way. So long as my 3 gallon experiment in the Lucy tent goes well, I'm sticking with 3 gallon pots for my future autos. So much easier to manage the space. I'll be pushing 20 DLI later today. RH is staying up at 70% during the day, and 65% at night. I'll be switching into my "Veg" VDP next week.
2/13/22 Day 13 - The tent is properly dialed in w/r/t temp and humidity. Currently at 20 DLI and will be slowly increasing over the next week. Claudette is growing like mad. Third leaves are clearly visible this morning. Audrey continues to be small, but well formed and a good color. Betty has made no gains, unfortunately. They will get a few ml of water into the cups today. The coco is being sprayed with plain water twice a day just to keep it from seriously drying out.
2/14/22 - Day 14 - Last day of week 2. Due to heat problems in the tent, I've decided to change my lighting schedule to 6/2. That will give the plants a chance to rest three times over the course of the day, and let the heat dissipate. I will be changing over to the large fan soon, I just wanted to girls to gain some size before I unleashed that whirlwind onto them! Made sure to refill the humidifier - it ran dry yesterday late and the heat came up right away. The girls seem unperturbed by this little problem, and hopefully are just fine. Claudette and Audrey are looking just fine, Betty still looks pretty much the same.
2/15/22 - Day 15 - All is going well, did some work in the tent, switched the fans over and even on the lowest possible setting, the 400 cfm fan inflated my tent - even with a 6 inch exhaust working full strength. I had to move the girls around a bit - Audrey got moved to the back of the tent, next to the second humidifier and out of the line of fire of the hurricane in her old spot. Claudette got moved a little more central under the light. The girls seem to like the 6/2 - 6/2 - 6/2 days, they never get too hot or too dry.
2/16/22 - Day 16 - I pulled Claudette's cup "leaves" today, allowing her full access to the whole pot. She didn't seem to notice and I gave her 500 ml of her nutrients at 6.5 pH. I had mixed a solution of foliar calcium and silica and put it in the aerosol sprayer and gave her a spritz. (The other girls too!) I am considering pulling Audrey's peels tomorrow since her pot is so small, it's difficult to water with the cup in the way. She's going to make it or not, and she's had plenty of time to grow her roots.
2/17/22 - Day 17 - Today, I'm pulling Audrey's cup "leaves". Her pot is the 2 gallon, and it's hard to water "outside" of the cup. She has had plenty of time to grow some good roots, so I'm giving her the run of her entire pot. She seems more cheerful since the switch to 6/2 lighting, so perhaps she will be encouraged to grow. Claudette continues to grow her leaves, and has one set coming and another visible. She's doing just fine.
2/20/22 Day 20 - Audrey appears comfortable in her full pot - I have to watch it carefully b/c the 2 gallon is more prone to dry more quickly. Claudette got FIMed today. I'm excited and a bit nervous to see what happens. Betty is just a placeholder at this point, I'm caring for her but I know she's not going to develop further. DLI 30 today - we're off to the races. (Betty is parked in DLI 19 corner...) As long as Claudette does well, I'm going to continue the increase until I get to 45, maybe a touch more. Heat has not been a problem with the 6/2 light schedule, this may be a permanent change. I ordered a 3 ft UV/IR bar - just 20 watts but it will fit the 3x3.
2/21/22 Day 21 - Last day of week 3! Claudette doesn't seem upset about the FIM, of course I'm worried that I didn't do it right. I hate "First Times". She looks very healthy and her little underbranches have grown nicely since yesterday. Audrey is growing, much more slowly although she is pretty much the same height as Claudette. I don't know what to say about Betty, I'm indulging her with tent space for now but I'm getting ready to move Shirley from the other tent in, and put Betty in with Slowpoke.
2/22/22 Day 22. (Nice!) I believe it is likely that I messed up the FIM and did not cut deep enough. I will look tomorrow morning and make a decision whether to snip again. I should have been bolder and more decisive! And of all things, tiny little Audrey - boy did I name her right - is in flower. She's going to end up as big as my thumb with a wee little bud on the top, this seems to be a phenotype of this strain, unfortunately. She'll continue to be babied, she's in a small enough pot I can afford the room. Betty is a mutant, I don't think she's got anything else in her. I believe I'm just going to move my Shirley (GSCE) in with Claudette and Audrey, put Betty out of her misery, and start some other seeds in the small tent.
2/24/22 Day 24. I did indeed mess up the FIM, on Claudette but I'm letting her ride at this point. She is gaining scent - that familiar "LSD" scent. She's not upset about the trim, and I'm laughing at the way the snipped fan leaves look. Oh, well! Audrey is in bloom and perfectly content. No water today though I continue to spray the top of the coco at least once a day.
2/27/22 Day 27 - A lot going on since last update. I decided to put her in LST since the FIM failed, figured I had nothing to lose. This was 3 days ago now, and she has now developed five bud sites - and there may be more, I haven't had her out in a couple of days as I've got a cold! (HOW?) But she seems happy and very healthy, and she's going to grow up to look very different from our Lucy. She's going to get water with Recharge, Fish Sh!t, MagiCal, and Sugar Daddy to keep the microbes happy.
2/28/22 Day 28, end of week 4. My main concern of the triplets is Claudette - she's going to be the producer of the group. She has 5 good tops starting to develop - and there's a sixth kind of in hiding, I'm going to see if I can "pull it out" into the light and tie it today. I have the "canopy" pretty level on her. DLI was raised to 50 and she went wild over it. Audrey also got larger, she may win the two "games" she's in: first - grow the dinkiest plant possible, second - beat someone's first grow - .25 oz. I was thinking she was going to be a one gram girl, but she may actually make more. Somehow, I think .25 z is asking a lot from her, but we'll see. None of them need water, I am keeping humidity at 55%, and with the increased light the "day' temps are going to 80. They seem perfectly happy so I'm not arguing.
3/1/22 Day 29 - Claudette is responding nicely to LST, she has 8 bud sites showing and all are showing "buttons". I replaced the light in her tent on 2/28 - Grow Beams 240W. Audrey is still alive, and I've moved her back with the "big girls" because I have three seedings in the other tent!
3/2/22 Day 30 - Claudette got a "recharge" watering today along with silicon boost, magical, fish sh!t, and sugar daddy. She looks perfectly healthy and happy.
3/3/22 Day 31 - The 20 w UV/IR bar arrived and I installed it in front of the GB light.
3/4'22 Day 32 - Apparently, the new light set up is making the girls extremely happy. Visible growth overnight!
3/6/22 Day 34 - Claudette has grow herself into DLI 60+ three times since her LST. I've pulled her down daily but stretch is in progress. Overall she is staying nice and flat. She has 8 tops with buttons on at this point.
3/8/22 Day 36 - Claudette is starting to stack. This week, I added two 240 W Green Beams lights. I also have a 20 W Kingbrite UV/IR/DR bar to supplement. They got their drink with Recharge this week, I also added a bit of Awesome Blossoms to Claudette to encourage her on her way. Betty has been banished to another room where she can sit in the sunlight. She is growing in her weird and non-productive way. Audrey has grown to 5 inches, and is fully budded out. Cute as the dickens, but she'll get evicted too when I run out of space.
3/12 Day 40 - Claudette has grown to 14 inches - she's growing though she will be short. She has about 8 tops on her, so she's got a lot of space to fill up. I noticed some trichomes on her newest leaves, well done little girl!
3/14 Day 42 - Claudette has made some interesting very dark colors on her newly fledged sugar leaves, and around the base of her pistils. Interesting to watch this grow, I never know what she'll do tomorrow. She had the distinctive LSD smell, it's getting a bit stronger as we go along. She has a little clone which took and is doing fine in it's cute little way. We'll see if it even gets old enough to bloom!
3/15/22 Day 43. Claudette is doing wonderfully well, green and healthy and eager to bud. She's only 14 inches tall, but covered with buds everywhere. Likely she will perform as well as. or better than her seed sister Lucy.
3/19 - Tent maintenance today, filter cleaned and everyone rearranged with lights adjusted to provide DLI 50 - 60. RH staying at 60. The filter cleansing was critical - now the tent isn't so inflated it looks as if it will burst. C. is starting to really build out her main.
3/22/22 Third week of flowering and naughty Claudette grew a nanner! Thank goodness it was only one, and it was very conspicuous on top of the main cola. I performed a nannerectomy. Other than that mini disaster, she is growing well and is VERY fragrant.
4/5/22 Not much going on, she's still healthy and filling out her colas. The buds are a beautiful color and really large. All is going well, and I'm starting to think about harvest. .
LSD auto is an easy grow - IF you get a good seed. I had two mutants and one dwarf out of my five seeds, unfortunately. The plants grow very small but they are BEAUTIFUL. It's also a very powerful high. I might try LSD photos in the future in hopes of growing a large one.
