👋 Hey y'all! I know that I have been "gone" awhile and I am sorry for leaving y'all hangin'!
A lot has happened in my life. New baby, new house, and new grow projects! If any of you follow me on Instagram, then you already know about my autoflower tent. I haven't had much time to tend to the medical garden and have handed most of those responsibilities off. I still visit every so often, but I won't be documenting those grows here any longer.
Being that we are in a new house, I want to expand my home setup and I have some exciting stuff planned showcasing some top notch genetics!
Now on to this grow!
🚿 Reservoir and drip details: I have 7 gallon bucket with submersible pump going to four halo type drip rings. I have a manual shutoff switch to turn the pump on or off at the touch of a button. My tent has two tiers and the plants are not hooked up to the halo drip rings until they are moved to the lower chamber. Prior to that they are manually watered. I am using reverse osmosis water. I have a 24"x48" low tide tray in the bottom of the tent and a 24"x24" high tide tray in the top chamber.
🌬️ Ventilation: I am using an AC Infinity 6" fan with the upgraded Cloudline 67 controller. The fan sits on top of my tent with a silencer on the exhaust side of the fan and on the intake side I have ducting run into the top of the tent and hooked to a carbon filter inside. I also have three oscillating fans tower fans inside the tent. The largest of the three hangs upside down from the top shelf to create airflow in the bottom chamber. On the top shelf there are two desk type oscillating tower fans. One set to oscillate and move air and the other pulls air from the lower chamber up towards the top chamber. All fans direct air from opposite side of the filter towards the filter to ensure air movement is efficiently pulling fresh air and CO2 throughout the tent and also exhaust heat.
🌱 Medium: I am using Royal Gold Tupur with a lot of added perlite. I have been reusing my medium for this project for over a year now. To eliminate and prevent bugs. I rinse after harvest with boiling water and a surfactant and again after I place it in a fabric pot about 48 hours before planting. For starting seeds I bought some small plastic cups from Walmart. Not the party cup type, but the reusable juice type cups. I put holes in the bottom and side about a half inch from the bottom. I fill them with medium with enough room for covering about 3/4 of the Jiffy style peat pellets I am starting seeds in.
💡Lighting details: I use an Android app called 'PPFD Meter' to dial in my lighting. I run my lights for 21 hours per day and rather than focusing setting a target for ppfd, I set a target DLI. For the first 3 weeks I shoot for about 13-19 mol/m2/day, then 20-30 mol/m2/day until plants have starting pushing pistils for a week or two, and then 35-50 mol/m2/day. These are my target ranges and do my best to maintain, but, with the variation seen in autoflowers... It's hard to keep a perfectly even canopy needed to maintain consistent light levels for all plants.
If anyone has any questions or would like more details, please let me know.
I am excited to be back with a new diary!
Thanks for stopping by my garden y'all!
✌️ PEACE

🚿 Sprayed top of medium with plain RO water daily to keep medium moist without over-watering.
Week 3: January 26 to February 1.
-----------------------------------------------------------
✂️ Defoliated lowest 2 lateral branches at same node as cotyledons and lowest 2 fan leaves at fourth nodes only leaving the top four nodes.
🚿 Started foliar feeding using.
Golden Tree @ .25ml/gal
Tree Trunk @ 2ml/gal
Cal-Mag+Iron @ 5ml/gal
Fulvex @ 30ml/gal
Powdered Yucca Extract @ 1/64 tsp/gal
Drop of Organic liquid soap
💦 Started feeding nutrients with rest if the garden.
Week 4: February 2nd to February 8th
-----------------------------------------------------------
✂️ Selectively defoliated large fan leaves with petioles in excess of 2.5". I nip new growth shoots on the lowest nodes of each growth shoot. I typically take growth shoots between the first 1-4 nodes with more being taken from lowest growth shoots. I make my determination based off how much light will penetrate to reach that node. If it's a growth shoot near the top of the plant, I might only take one node, if that; but, the lowest branches will need the most removed because those branches receive less light. I only leave growth shoots on the first 3-5 nodes from the top of the growth shoot. The part of the branch that gets the most light. I do my best to read the plant, but it is a bit of an art. Another best practice is to wait 1-2 days after first seriously considering removing a large fan leaf, just to make sure I don't go overboard and stress the plant. Autoflowers can be sensitive and I don't want to stunt my plants.
🚿 Last week of foliar spray (Because the rest of the garden is 2 weeks ahead of this cultivar)
Golden Tree @ .25ml/gal
Tree Trunk @ 2ml/gal
Cal-Mag+Iron @ 5ml/gal
Fulvex @ 30ml/gal
Powdered Yucca Extract @ 1/64 tsp/gal
Drop of organic liquid soap
Week 5: February 9th to February 15th
-----------------------------------------------------------
✂️ Continued with selective light defoliation/lollipopping every 2-3 days.m, just staying in the conservative side to avoid stunting.
📋 She really looks great. Her color is bright and consistent with nice internodal spacing and strong thick stems. She has nice wide Indica leaves and tends to grow lateral branches to form a more bushy plant. I have a feeling this one is going to result in a beautiful plant with nice big dense buds, but only time will tell!
Week 6: February 16th to February 22nd
-----------------------------------------------------------
📋 Not much has changed as of 2/21. Still no signs of flower and she is growing like a weed!
✂️ Continued with selective light defoliation/lollipopping every 2-3 days. I am staying on the conservative side to avoid stunting.
Week 7: February 23rd to March 1st
-----------------------------------------------------------
📅 02/25/2022
📋 Still no signs of pistils, but she is growing fast and looks like she may be starting her stretch. Hopefully pistils will develop soon!
✂️ Continued with selective defoliation and lollipopping every 2-3 days. She has been handling pruning well, so went a little heavier today.
📅 03/01/2022
📋 The first pistils are starting to form. She is growing super fast and appears to be loving life!
✂️ No change in pruning techniques.
Week 8: March 2nd to March 8th
-----------------------------------------------------------
📅 03/5/2022
📋 The first pistils have started to form, but I believe these are only preflowers and is not truly flowering quite yet. She is growing great and has been easy to care for!
✂️ Continued with selective defoliation and lollipopping every 2-3 days. She has been handling pruning well, so went a little heavier today. She is getting pretty tall for my space so I also pinched her main stem at the 3rd and 4th nodes from the top to try to control her vertical growth. I will continue aggressively defoliating the center main apical growth shoot to discourage it's vertical growth and try to even out the canopy.
Week 9: March 9th to March 15th
-----------------------------------------------------------
📅 03/09/2022
📋 Still not flowering. 😓
✂️ I am continuing to pinch stems and super-crop as well as getting more aggressive with foliation in hopes to slow her vertical growth. Hoping she starts to bloom soon.
🚿 Because the tent is setup on a drip system and the other 2 cultivars are already flowering, she is receiving flowering nutes. Hopefully it will encourage her to begin flowering.
📅 03/14/2022
📋 She is still not flowering. If she gets any bigger, I might have to move her to the medical garden or outside. I am really hoping she starts budding soon.
✂️ My efforts to suppress vertical growth of the tallest tops seems to be working. I am taking fan leaves from top growth shoots earlier, pinching stems, and super-cropping. All in an effort to even out the canopy and keep the plant from growing to close to my lights.
Week 10: March 16th to March 22nd
-----------------------------------------------------------
📅 03/22/2022
📋 STILL not flowering. 😓
✂️ This week I topped her and started with heavy defoliation. I will give her another week to start flowering, and if she doesn't, I will have to take her to the med garden. This is unfortunate, because I am currently unable to get over there in a regular basis and won't be able to continue with documenting her progress. I really hope she will start flowering so I can keep her around.
Week 11: March 23rd to March 29th
-----------------------------------------------------------
📅 03/26/2022
🚫🌼 STILL not flowering. 😓
✂️ After last week's heavy defoliation I did one more strip and then put her in a dark closet to see if we can trigger those flowering hormones.
📅 03/29/2022
📋 She hasn't started flowering yet, but decided to put her back in the tent. If I don't see signs of flower within a few days, she is going to a new home.
Week 12: March 30th to April th
-----------------------------------------------------------
📅 04/01/2022
🌼🌼 She's flowering!!! 🌼🌼
✂️ Seems as though placing her in a dark closet for 68 hours last week may have done the trick in getting those flowering hormones to kick in. Just a few pistils here and there. I am just hoping this isn't some sick April Fool's Day joke she doesn't revert and go back to revegging in a few days.
📅 04/04/2022
📋 She seems to be wanting to stretch even though I keep stripping her to keep her from getting too tall. More pistils are continuing to develop. Things are looking good!
🚿 This week her feed is being decreased because her tent mates are nearing the finish line. I figure, she can be hungry for a few days until the other 2 finish up. At that point, I will progressively increase the concentration of the nutrient solution to the target range of 1.9 - 2.2 EC until the end of her stretch. Assuming she tolerates the increased feeds well, I will continue to increase her feed as she progresses through bloom to a max EC target range of 2.3-2.5. For the last 5 days I will drop EC target range to 1.5 - 1.9 and follow up with a final flush 1-2 days prior to harvest using a flushing agent and plant enzymes.
Week 12: March 30th to April 5th
-----------------------------------------------------------
📅 03/31/2022
📋 Structure looks like she might be transitioning to flower. I will be waiting and watching closely.
📅 04/01/2022
📋 I found some pistils forming! Let's hope she keeps rolling into the flowering phase!
📅 04/04/2022
📋 I found some even more pistils forming! Come on little Kabul Auto! Don't stop now!!!
