I keep the plant with 12 hours of indoor light and 9 hours of sun in February, where some treacherous rays have burned the tip of a leaf, but no problem. Yesterday, I added some sifted mulch to the substrate and on top, some dry organic matter to retain moisture and promote microbiology propagation. You can already see growth, I transplanted the small root ball very wet and today I did the first deep watering with 1l of water, honey (enzymes, minerals, and sugars...) and Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA) in basic form, which is the product I have with the highest concentration of Microbiology, the intention is to make a massive inoculation in the substrate so that the MMA spread throughout the substrate and start working on the decomposition and mineralization of organic matter, also in the dissolution of the minerals present in the substrate mix!! The mix for these substrates is the same as I've been using for the last two growing seasons: 6 parts of 3 types of commercial soil. 1 part of worm humus 1 part of seaweed bokashi 1/3 part of aged goat and sheep manure 1/4 part of river sand 1 part of coconut fiber 1 part of perlite 1/3 part of vermiculite 1/4 part of Zeolite 2g/liter of rock phosphate 3g/liter of ground Leonardite 1/4 part of Biochar activated with Mountain Microorganisms (MM) - Other micronized minerals at a rate of 1g/liter of soil: White and green Montmorillonite, red Illite, Azomite, Kaolin, Basalt, Pumice, Wood ash, Diatomite, and Dolomite. On the surface of the substrate, I added a layer of sifted mulch, extracted from my mulch reserves, rescued from other crops, then I covered it with a thin layer of soil and dry matter reused as mulch, as the substrate settles in the pot I will keep adding more dry matter to the mulch to increase the current thickness... a lot of food for my dear microbes!! The last few days have been sunny, I hope they continue, I keep the seedling indoors for 12h and outside for 8 more hours! And that's all for now... Today I made the first apical cut above the third node, to control the height and shape a denser flower canopy. For the past 3 days, I've been doing very gentle foliar applications with amino acids and lacto auxins, and the plant is responding positively. Since all the new crops are growing very slowly, I'm going to take the time these seedlings need in the vegetative growth stage until they are very strong before moving them to flowering; the idea is to achieve large harvests even if it means a few more weeks of growing time. The arrival of spring, the lengthening of outdoor light hours, and the increase in sunlight intensity will allow me to keep these crops with plenty of good light hours!!🌞🌨️💡💡 And that's all for now... I've done the second deep watering, I'm continuing with the inoculation of Mountain Microorganisms into the substrate, for now, I'm going to focus on root expansion before starting with soluble fertilization. The two tips resulting from the apical cut are growing. I've tied down four branches to start shaping the grow. The plant is increasing its water consumption, also favored by the air-pot, and two days ago I started foliar applications of amino acids and lacto ferment of auxins and minerals. The seedling's response has been immediate; I do two applications daily and will continue until it forms more leaves and starts increasing its water consumption. In the meantime, the seedling is happily living between the grow tent and soaking up the sun from the windows. Since I’m currently growing 4 plants in a single grow tent, with one tall and large plant in flowering, what I’m doing is raising this pot and the other two, which are similar in size, to bring the seedlings closer to the light canopy, which I have at a high intensity. The plant responds very well to foliar applications and watering, water consumption is increasing. This week a deep watering with lacto auxins and coconut water (gibberellic acid and cytokinins) to promote cell division and therefore the growth of the aerial and root parts. On these cloudy days, when I put the plant in the window to catch the daylight, I’m supporting it with a 36w LED panel with blue diodes at 450nm, this color spectrum favors compactness, leaf expansion, and branch strengthening. To encourage root growth and microbiology around the holes of this pot, I spray with water to maintain humidity and I always do this before watering, which helps prevent too much water from escaping when watering. Water consumption has skyrocketed this week, I water deeply every three days and support the grow daily with a foliar application of amino acids and lactic ferments. I will keep the plant in the vegetative stage for another week, now I have more space in the new grow tent. Until next time... Double motivation to write this week, as the plant has doubled its height and width, and it’s still a compact plant!! The leaves are expanding and maintaining a spectacular, totally healthy appearance... this plant is happy!!🙋‍♂️😁 Water consumption keeps increasing, I water deeply every 2-3 days and take the opportunity to give the plant tasty and varied food, this week three waterings and one application of dry amendments, I’ve stopped the foliar applications. This week in the waterings I’ve thrown a big microbiology party, I’ve used several of my Bio Fertilizers with Activated Mountain Microorganisms in liquid form (MMA) and Ormus (Mg, S, Ca...) which helps me regulate the pH, as the Bio ferments are very acidic (3.5/4.5), in this growing season all the waterings I’m doing have a more acidic pH than in previous seasons, I water around 6.1/6.4 throughout the grow, except when I water only with pure mountain water, where I don’t touch the water pH (pH: 7.0), I believe that a more acidic environment favors the decomposition of organic matter and microbial life, plus, living substrates are not governed by the usual nutrient availability tables based on pH, created for and by the agrochemical industry and its products, the maximum nutrient assimilation in soils treated with mineral salts is at pH: 6.5, while this rate drops to an average of 5.5 in organic soils (See graph above). I also have to say that I trust my soils and preparations so much that I never pay attention to measuring runoff, in fact, when I water I do it very slowly so that there’s barely any runoff, giving the substrate time to soak up, for example, in a watering with 3 liters in this pot, barely 100ml run off, just enough to keep a high humidity at the base of the pot so the roots seek it eagerly! Today, this plant begins its transition to the flowering stage, at 11:00 it has entered a period of darkness that will last 36h, then a strict 12/12h schedule until it starts to bloom, after that, I’ll probably increase an hour of light (13/11), this time I’m going to compare this technique with the direct switch to 12/12h of my other plant: Alpujarreña... let’s see if there are any winners! 🤷‍♂️ It makes me sad to switch to flowering, and effectively begin with the decline of the plant, tremendous affection, tremendous sadness! I wish I could keep some plants with me forever! 😢 Maybe some super talented breeder will offer us perennial strains one day, where we can keep harvesting fruits "ad infinitum"... that would be the real fruity marijuana!!? 🤣🍎🍇🥝🍋🍒 Until next time... For the first 36 hours of the week, I kept the plant in the dark to see if that speeds up the flowering process. I'm comparing this plant with another that went directly from 20/4h to 12/12h. During the time I kept it in the dark, the plant stretched a lot. It came from a week of very varied nutrient watering, and this week I did two light waterings to keep the plant calm during the transition to flowering. The plant looks healthy and robust, with strong branches capable of supporting any size of bud! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾 I'm growing this plant in a 10L air-pot. I've maintained high humidity in the substrate, mainly in the holes and on the surface. The intention has been to populate the substrate with roots as much as possible. In these pots, there's no problem with excess water. I think the technique is working well, as a swarm of roots is peeking out from the base. However, I've had a small infestation of fungus gnats that started in this pot. It seems the gnats love to make their homes in the holes of the pot. I've set up numerous yellow and blue traps and have caught most of them. Between waterings, I've sprinkled diatomaceous earth on the surface of the substrate to see if the abrasive capacity of the diatomite does anything. Diatomaceous earth needs to be dry to be most effective against crawling bugs. The appearance is unbeatable! This week, I've done two deep waterings concentrated with humic acids, phosphorus, potassium, and Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA) in liquid form, along with bio-stimulants based on fruit Lacto Ferments; water consumption is high, watering every 3 days. I've also done a little defoliation of lower leaves and foliar applications with Horsetail to prevent the appearance of fungi, as the relative humidity in the grow tent increases a lot when the plants sleep. I've also added dry amendments to the substrate, a mix of various organic components to be released slowly, thus contributing to the health and happiness of the plant. Now the plant is exposed to the radiant spring sun; I go back and forth with this pot, chasing the sun rays, enjoying the reflection produced by the immaculate and numerous pistils that run along all the branches! The sunny days this week allow me to take the plant out into the sun for 3 hours, three hours less of artificial light, in exchange for the fantastic solar spectrum, full of energy and warmth... Do you know of any better lamp? That is, if it withstands the "overdoses" of Bio nutrients I've given it with watering this week, a first preparatory watering with mineral water at the beginning of the week and two more waterings, one with EC 2.0 and the next with EC 3.1, these added to the two waterings from the previous week, slightly less concentrated (EC: 1.9). So far, it's very rare for it to reach EC 2.0, but I wanted to experiment with more nutrient concentration at this stage of flowering, mainly PK. I'm keeping an eye out for signs on the leaves, but it's the only way to test the performance of my new bio-preparations and their consequences on the plant and the harvest. I trust in the efficiency of my substrates loaded with happy microbiology, but while it's true that I only use organic components, they can also block a crop due to excess organic matter, which is how excess organic nutrients turn into, and unlike salt blockages, it's much easier and quicker to recover from. deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! 🙋‍♂️👨‍🌾👍 Kritikal Bilbo, a mythical strain that started here nearby, in Bilbao of the 90s, and that still stands today as a symbol of critique, of Bilbao, and of good marijuana! 🙋‍♂️😎 Six weeks into flowering, and the plant looks impressive, great metabolism and long branches filled with floral buds, which are getting fatter day by day! Yesterday, I harvested a plant that left a privileged spot in my grow tent, a spot now occupied by Kritikal Bilbo. Due to the height of the plant, I keep it well-lit from the canopy and 3 sides to boost the buds in the middle! The plant has a high water consumption, and I continue to feed it with every watering. This week, 3 deep waterings with a variety of Bio preparations that provide the plant with macro and micronutrients from various organic and inorganic sources. This week, I debuted a multi-mineral Bio ferment (Bio Si EM), where I chelate several micronized minerals (Rhassoul Clay, Zeolite, Pumice Stone, Red Illite, and Diatomite), all rich, mainly, in Silica. For the chelation, I use Mountain Microorganism Inoculants (MM), Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), and Fermented Grass (my new source of Enzymes and Microorganisms), in a complex 3-phase process taking 3 months to prepare. This preparation is designed to be used once a week throughout the grow. Silica has several functions; it hardens and gives elasticity to all the plant's cells, stem, leaves, and branches, producing branches capable of supporting huge buds without stakes. Also, the hardness of the cells makes it a bit harder for mining insects and other pests, and as if that weren't enough, it helps in the formation of trichomes! Grateful for the home and food I provide, countless buds, loaded with trichomes, hard as rocks, sticky and stinky! And not much more to say, the plant seems to be on track to meet the harvest expectations set by the producer, I think there are at most 10 days left to harvest it. Approximately 4 last waterings where I will feed it until the last moment, as the plant has shown great tolerance to all the nutrients I've given, water consumption remains high, watering deeply every 3 days. deFharo Bienvenidos cultivadores de marihuana clandestinos y también a los que tienen la fortuna de no serlo!🖐️👨‍🌾👍 Kritikal Bilbo, una cepa mítica que comenzó aquí cerca, en el Bilbao (Bilbo) de los años 90 y que hoy sigue vigente como símbolo de crítica, de Bilbo, y de buena marihuana!🖐️😎 Nueve semanas de floración, el paseo por el Bilbo de los años 80/90 ha finalizado, Ha sido un gran cultivo que me ha traído grandes recuerdos y ha cumplido con el tiempo de floración del que habla el productor. Como premio y último acto de rebeldía para este cultivo, después de un riego con agua pura de montaña, he mantenido la planta, las últimas 48h, con luz ininterrumpida, hasta el momento final. Los pegajosos cogollos me han dejado un buen recuerdo en los dedos, una piedra de hash. La planta estiró mucho en las dos primeras semanas del paso a floración, por todo lo demás ha sido una cepa resistente, de fácil cultivo y un rendimiento decente.
