That's a serious light you got their, congrats.
Hanging distance is determined by how strong the light is. and when they get really strong it's also determined by how much co2 is in the air.
Dimmers also help defuse the intensity.
So in short it 100% matter how close it is. a difference of 10" can mean a PPFD of 900 vs 400 on some lights and that's a lot of energy.
