Preparing closet for grow, waiting on a mix of autos from Herbie's seeds. This diary is on the 9week Jack Herer Auto, very excited for the yields. Germination will be paper towel method for approx 2-3 days, then plant directly in final pot. Update 2/24-Seeds expected to arrive 2/26. Germinating ASAP, if all goes well, transplant and seedling stage begins 24-48 hours after. Last entry for germination as this is a straightforward process. Last Germination update 3/1- Seeds came monday, germinated right away...but 3 hours later my jar tipped over. I popped my second JH seed in and will grow both for this diary...day 1 will commence at transplant into 3gal pot. I have my RIP seed segregated from the healthy, un-dropped seed so I am curious as to how this shock will affect yield...

Took a second for them to sprout, but sprout they did morning of 3/4. I woke up to them sticking right through, gave them a quick water to hydrate and moisten. Raised the light 40inches above seedlings and will monitor how they react, lowering as needed to prevent stretching. Water only as feeding every 4-5 hours to keep soil moist. Keeping cup over seedlings for humidity until I see some strength course through. Top 1/4 soil is coco loco and perlite, mixed 80/20. Bottom 3/4 is FFOF, coco loco and perlite, 70/20/10. Didn't want burn on my seedlings and wanted their roots to grow into a nutrient rich medium. Will provide closing week 1 journal at day 7. 3/10- Day 7 End of first week and I am happy with the leaf formations. JH1 is growing large first set of leaves, 2nd set growing out by the hour. JH2 is plugging right alongside, has been showing signs of wilting, a little lost pep in the step, but the watering helped bring JH2 back strong-ish. Second leaves are forming beautifully, and I can see the beginnings of the 3rd set. Mildly slow stem growth currently [girth] but part of that was due to dialing in light distance...part of it is age of the plants. Light is perfect at 30" now, had minor fluctuations throughout the week but settled on 30"being the sweet spot. Fed water only as top dressing to soil and foliar spray every few hours, every day. Humidity cup was on until day 4... first measured feeding was day 5, 200ml of water with 1/4 strength silica boost by bloom city. Gradually increasing silica doses through life, capping at 3/4 strength, and will remain a constant in all feedings. Oscillating fan has been going on lowest setting, moving the stems mildly. 8 hours uninterrupted in the AM, closing it with 4 hours in the PM. Closet does not get hot, average temp 78-82 degrees daytime, 72ish during dark period. Will keep fan schedule until my mini arrives. Second watering day 7, 200ml with 1/4 strength silica.

Week 2 commenced 3/11...Day 8...if you are following my timeline! JH1 is growing rapidly, looking real nice, JH2 has some amazing second leaves, all now are shooting phase the cotyledon and developing 3rd set already. May need to start nutrient feedings earlier depending on growth stage after day 14, as they are taking off it seems. After watering yesterday, I decided to push a bit of soil around the stem for support (mild bending). I also added a top layer of pre mixed soil/perlite/coco (50/35/15) to all edges of the pots and top, as I did not like the coco drying out so severely between waterings. As I am not watering large amounts yet, this seemed like a decent way to retain moisture without disturbing the medium around the plant. Mist water today, will give complete purge/absence of water day 9. Day 10 will water at "sunset" and go from there. Will update along the week. Day 10 AM- ended up watering before sunrise today, and I did it...i started nutes. Realized all plants are dealing with an N deficiency( My PE actually told me after no watering or misting which was great),so I gave an 1/8 dose of Fox Farms grow big. Had nitrogen as the highest trace, and since I was developing roots in mainly coco for now, I needed to give some kind of kick. The plant structure is doing well and growing steady and healthy...will monitor how the feed goes, going to maintain misting of the leaves. Water for next feed and will start my nutrient schedule from here until flush. Day 14- Big day today, LST began. Maybe I'm early but these plants seem to be taking off. I have several new developments and although they are not tall/bushy, they are resilient. Feeding seemed to really wake them up. Day 13 fed with 1/2 strength silica and 1/8 strength grow big. Each 350ml in the AM. Will do a pure water flush next, aiming for 40%run off. Plants are already responding by growing up to the light. I have also added healing crystals to the mediums, in hopes the vibrations and good energies help rooting and growth. Constantly monitoring, benefits from WFH. My boy's are loving to grow their flowers too! Everything is coming along nicely.

Day 15-week 3 off to a good start. Making sure constantly the plants are healthy from the LST... new leaf nodes are forming and both plants are continuing to grow upwards from the training. Will feed day 16 with 350-450ml, just water, then upping the dosage to 1/4 grow nutes for next feeding. Slowly lowered the light from 24" to 20" to start week 3...will be lowering to 18"/17" by day 18, gradually. Great resilience so far! Looking to also gradually increase watering frequency as the plant needs it. Day 19-haven't updated after flush on day 17, but they are both doing so well. Training is a daily task, moving leaves under stems to expose new growth to the light. Smell is kicking in, very fruity and earthy, my sister says she smells it as soon as the door opens lol. Light has been lowered to 17"officially, will maintain height until flowering stage. Feed on day 20, will update amounts when measured out. Day 21-fed this morning 5ml/gal grow big and 5ml/gal silica. 600ml each plant. Plants are doing great, becoming very leafy and getting that nice aroma within the space. Didn't feed yesterday as planned due to life happening and plant conditions. They took the feed great today and the LST is continuing. Bud sites are starting to really stem out and grow up, waiting for a little longer stem length to train them across the pot. Progress is happening though, looking forward to week 4 tomorrow and the excitement it shall bring.

D22- start of week 4 today, besides minor tucking I plan on leaving these plants alone until next feed. I am now playing the training game a bit slower to allow for vertical growth of lower leaves. D23- the JH 1 has developed pistils this afternoon. JH2 is still going strong! D25 update- fed both plants this morning the same silica and grow big mixture, with an addition of 1/8tsp/gal of Tiger Bloom. I see pistils on both plants (small, but there) and wanted to give them a quick little surge. Tucked leaves away and I'm training the new growth horizontal and away from the main cola. Both JH's are coming along wonderfully, JH1 being a touch ahead of JH2. Raising the light to maintain 17"-20" above top most part of canopy. Weekend growth was great, I've learned that letting them grow without temperament is sometimes better than a constant monitor. Will flush with water when dry, I'm guessing around D28 or so but we will see how they do before that or after. I'm just glad to be officially in pre flower! D27- FLUSH. I've been seeing more pistils forming and popping out. Maybe the bloom kicked in, maybe it's nature...either way flushed out this morning both plants at roughly 40oz each to push the plants to utilize what they have on their own again. Soil was dry all around, will have to monitor watering frequency now a bit closer. Stem structure is great, letting branches grow up and out before I re train again. The constant daily tucking and pinning had allowed for some amazing light penetration. Now going to let them creep up before I re attach LST on flowering branches. Next feed will still be 1/8tsp bloom but will start to back off on grow big nutes. Will update mixtures when measured. Week 4 has been great for me and I'm really excited to see the gains they have yet to make.

D29- Week 5 has commenced, still in veg which is fine. JH1 is slowly growing more and more pistils, while JH2 actually has more bud sites, incredible growth, but no pistils yet. I jumped the gun last week and thought I saw them but it has not matured yet. Still in veg which is fine, once JH2 gets going, it's going to go. I have great feelings towards these plants and the yields they will provide. Just going to maintain temp and humidity, [69-75 degrees/35%-55%RH], along with light exposure through the canopy. Once these flower sites take on more girth I'll be able to fix them to a more permanent spot to grow undisturbed. Will update along the week with feed info and general health of plants. D30- both plants got a very slight leaf removal this morning. Maybe 4 each, just to clear canopy space and get old leafs out. Neem oil organic spray was also applied to soil and stalks, as a preventative measure. Will likely give a feed tomorrow, soil still has some weight to it currently but that could change by tonight. If not tomorrow [D31] then for sure by D32 to ensure they are getting nutrients timely enough. Will provide pictures at end of day to show how they're doing. PM Update-both plants kicking off with pre flower pistils. I can tell it's about to really stretch, so my LST may be done soon...not much more to do to JH2, as that is the monster of the crop and spread down low. Planning on a feed tomorrow morning as the soil is fairly dry, it's also been a few days since watering, so I'm sure they are keen for a drink. D31-fed this morning same mixture of silica and grow big but upped bloom to 1/2 tsp/gal. Figured they might still want some N so I didn't back off just yet of the grow big, next feed hopefully will be a different mixture with more flowering. 1000ml each plant today, we'll see if they like that amount. D32-They liked that amount. Both plants are showing crazy new growth on the stems and pistils are popping up everywhere on flower sites. This week is going to continue on, will monitor but nothing crazy will be happening until I feed again. JH2 is my monster and I'm loving the entire structure of these plants. D33- soil is getting dry and both plants took those nutrients and ran. Week 6 will start the flowering stage, as main colas on both are getting tighter with growth, and pistils are appearing everywhere. JH2 is still slower to show flower compared to JH1, but they are still plugging along at about the same rate. Planning a feed tomorrow morning with a lower dose of grow big than previously mixed. Will do a larger defoliation when needed, but currently I don't want to mess around with them too much. D34-fed both this morning 5ml silica, 3ml grow big, 3ml tiger bloom and 2ml of my wife's organic K water[per gallon]! Each got 1500ml. Defoliated JH1 minimally, left JH2 alone since most sites are exposed and I think it has some more pre growth. JH1 is slowly creeping ahead to flower, but JH2 is still the out performer grand scheme. This will be my last week 5 update, as both plants are about to get into flower mode I think....we shall see. D35-I lied...this is my final post. JH2 stretched 2+ inches in the last 12 hours. Came home to the largest growth spurt I've ever seen. JH1 is growing taller as well, just incredibly more noticeable on JH2. will perform defoliation on JH2 today, to start week 6 with a fresh haircut. So happy, these plants are really going to take off in the next 72 hours.

D36- I defoliated both monsters...JH2 looks thin and angry but powerful...going to shoot upwards I think. JH2 was also very thirsty this morning. Fed 1000ml feed, backing off grow big a touch. JH1 is still retaining water, will feed in the next day or 2. Lights have been shifted to 15"during the day and lowered to 12"at certain intervals. I'm shutting the door for the next 12 hours and will then assess my next move for JH1, but the plants will mainly be left alone now to grow in peace. D37- Fed JH1 this morning and applied top dressing of only FFOF soil to build up potential washed out nutrients, and replenish the amount of mediums in pots, as they have shrunk down maybe 15%mass each. I will leave them be the next 48 hours and assess their feeding needs together. May let the plants get a little more dry than normal before next feed to hopefully get them on the same schedule again. JH1 cola and pistils are stacking up significantly, JH2 is about to flip into full flower mode soon, seeing incredible upwards growth of main cola on JH2 and more pistils production. Hoping to have the next feed at day 40 but the Plants will ultimately tell me when. D40 - defoliated both this morning and fed both today around 1200ml(1/3 of the gallon jug) something wild...i know both plants are flowering so to just break a cycle I gave it 50ml/gal of fox farms organic big bloom feed. High in P and K and a natural feed...I'm Hoping they respond well to it. JH1 had a bit of weight still to the pot but was mildly drooping. JH2 was screaming to be fed, sad looking leaves and seemingly lost motivation from waking up. I'll check in later today and see how they're doing. I'm Hoping to continue to see flower growth and pistil production...until next feed. D42- I got cocky in my last post and thought process and ended up mildly burning the tips of my leaves. I reacted immediately D41PM with a pure water flush and damage is very minimal, cant really get a picture of it. Now is D42 and plants are recovering. The burnt tips could also be from light burn so I raised the light to 17" above the main colas, but I think I did end up burning with nutes...plant looks healthy and is heavy. Temp dropped to around 70f-72f during the day the past few days with RH reading between 35%-54%..here comes week 7, going to back off grow big completely and stick to my mild dose of Tiger bloom. *mistake of the week...did not consider nutrient burn on the organic feed to the plants. Also I'm sure gave too much mixture and as a result, too high a PPM they could take? Unknown for sure, but a lesson for next time.

4.15.22-D43-plants are recovering nicely from flush, gave 800ml each today of 5ml silica, 3ml big bloom per gallon. Not trying to over water but also not trying to rid of nutrients. Will water again when bone dry. I've made the decision to get a grow tent to finish this grow...temperature, RH, kids and dog are getting a bit too much to worry about in a budget closet. Otherwise I see trichomes on the new growth of JH1, starting to really produce, now just a waiting game. JH2 is still growing flower but not as fast. I'm really hoping this little punch of feed will help it along. Will raise lights to 18" this evening and leave it there for 48 hours to monitor growth upwards. If it gets too chilly I may need to bring in a dehumidifier to lower RH a bit. Will update along the week. D44-defoliated all the plants in the PM D46- JH1 is 15.5" tall, JH2 is 14" tall. Trichomes appearing heavily on JH1, thinking it will be harvest ready first as there are 0 trichomes on JH2 so far...I'm hoping this pheno on JH1 is the 9week seed to harvest, as that would be a very nice staggered chop schedule, but still far too early to make plans regarding the finish line. 72f and 45%-55%RH lately. Light is getting tricky to figure out the sweet spot to not burn them but I think I'm figuring it out. *I'm maintaining 11"-13" light distance from top of highest cola after much deliberation, opinion and research, along with individual light specs and my environment. PM update- checked soil, it's dry. Will feed tomorrow morning, making the feed right now though. Will feed 1200ml each with 7ml silica, 2ml tiger bloom and 3.5ml big bloom, all per gallon. Getting back on the nutrient schedule I had set with the organic big bloom as the added extra. Hoping this does not burn them in the process. D47-fed this morning the mixture, changed to only 5ml silica after thinking and only 2.5ml big bloom. Will likely stick to this mixture until flush, maybe stepping dose up a bit with tiger bloom again and stepping down with big bloom. Everyone is happy, tent is very nice...now just climate control and monitoring. D48- JH1 is 16.5" tall, JH2 is 15.5" tall. Monitoring conditions and leaving them alone today. Happy 420! D49-JH1 is producing like a monster...trichomes everywhere, flower getting fatter. Starting to take daily growth pictures of main cola. JH2 is still behind but growing crazy...will need to start officially feeding separate nutrient mixes as all my plants are behind each other and showing different cycle stages...great. Tomorrow starts week 3 in flower, hoping these plants produce a nice end yield after all this effort. Getting growing doubts but plug along I shall!

D50- Fed each 1700ml, JH1 received 5ml dil, 3.5ml tiger, 3.5ml bloom.Plant is 18". JH2 received 5ml silica, 2.5 tiger, 2.5 big bloom.Plant is 16.5". D51- both received minor defoliation and lollipopping. Useless leafs that wouldn't become anything. Going to step back on big bloom next feed (D53) as I'm seeing some fruit flies near the dried run off. JH 1 is 18"and getting fatter, also covered/oozing trichomes. JH2 is behind a bit but still looking great and healthy at 17". Hoping to keep current conditions, hopefully more ideal ones in the next weeks. I'm going to bring in the dehumidifier tomorrow now that I'm thinking of this via typing. Until them just monitoring and reacting. D53-no feed today, soil is still too wet. JH1 is 18.5", JH2 is still about 17" tall. D54-fed last night before sunset. JH1 received a gallon of feed...no silica, 4.5ml tiger and 2.5 bloom. PH to 6.7. JH2 received no silica, 3.5ml tiger, 2ml bloom, gave 3/4 gallon feed. Temp and RH are evening out thanks to dehumidifier. D55-JH1 is sitting at 19" and JH2 is 18". Will feed day 56 in the PM, upping flower nutes on JH1. Unsure what JH2 is doing as it seems to just be getting bushier. No trichomes yet tho...definitely going to have a staggered harvest at this point. Might go in tonight and tie some stalks out for an even bush. D56- didn't tie really anything on these plants. Inspected and removed problem leaves/mild lollipopping but am planning a feed tonight. Will feed each half a gallon, updated measurements will be on week 9's page. Still going to be 2 mixtures per plant though as JH2 is still behind the race. As of now, JH1 looks as if it's about to hit 4th week flower [on track]..JH2 appears to be in 2nd week of true flower respectively.

D57-JH1 is 20", JH2 is 19". Feed last night a gallon each. JH1 got 5ml silica, 7ml tiger, 3ml big bloom. JH2 received 5ml silica, 5ml tiger, and 2.5 big bloom. My projected harvest guess is D70+-5 for JH1, and D87+-5 for JH2. Happy growing everyone! Will update through the week as needed. D58-Becoming arid in there, 76f-81f with 45%-55%RH. D59-fed JH1 half gallon 7ml tiger, 5ml big bloom...JH2 got half gallon 5ml tiger and 5ml big bloom. JH2 is now showing trichomes appearing. JH1 is getting a very nice bud structure and will start to fill out I'm sure even more. I may flip to 18/6 for remainder of grow to assist in the buds getting a longer rest period. Temp has been 76f-81f with RH@40%-55%. We are getting close, flush might start next feed for JH1. D60-flush for JH1 is soon. Main cola is swelling by the day and looking very promising. Cruise control until the end now hopefully. JH2 is plugging right along as well. D61-going to start flushing JH1 tonight I think...Really need to inspect the trichomes tonight. JH2 is really flowering along as well, but feed will still occur when dry. Will start to initiate the light schedule of 18/6 slowly, to be in full effect by D64. I'm Really hoping I time the flush right on JH1... D62-fed JH2 last night half gallon with 5ml tiger and 5ml big bloom. JH1 was still fairly heavy so no feed or flush yet. JH1 is getting very close though...JH2 is becoming even more of a monster. Not so many trichomes yet but man, are there pretty spiral buds forming. This is going to be a producer, only feeding half gallon increments now as they seem to respond well to that. Both are still showing mostly clear trichomes which is good for now. Will feed JH1 tonight as the pot is pretty light this afternoon. *fed JH1 7ml tiger and 5ml big bloom. PH 6.6. Gave it a bit under 3/4 gallon actually. D63-both plants are doing great. I really love the appearance of JH1 and how stocky and sticky it looks. On the other spectrum, JH2 is really showing sativa spiraling, and each stalk is loaded with buds that are getting fatter by the day. Overall very happy going into week 10. Just going to let the plant mature and feed when dry still. Checking trichomes 3x per day to ensure I'm not missing anything. JH2 barely has any but the production will be there. JH1 still mostly clear and I'm quite Happy about that. Let's keep growing! *positive thought, my PE is not performing and will be harvested soon...but that just clears up space for the Jack's to flourish in for the upcoming weeks! **PM update, JH2 is thirsty, will feed tomorrow...along with JH1 to get them on the same schedule again.

D64-week 10...JH1 is progressing, will feed tonight. JH2 developing trichomes a lot more now. Will feed tonight as well. Light schedule is now 18/6 until the end. JH1 is dripping in frost, buds need to get fatter still and mature but it's nearing the end. 2 more weeks maybe. JH2 maybe 3 or 4 weeks. Preparing a feed for JH1 with 5ml tiger, 7ml big bloom. JH2 will get 7ml tiger, 7ml big bloom. All PH to 6-6.5. D65-fed last night, each a half gallon of the proposed feed above. It looks like maybe one more power feed for JH1 and it'll be good to start the end life cycle. JH2 is getting fatter each day, and will get a bit higher nute feed next round. Hoping it's D67 before I feed though for both. D66-happy mother's day D67-happy Monday. Going to water JH1 tonight and PH it only. Looking for the slow flush approach of 5%-10%run off tonight. JH2 will be getting 5ml tiger, 7ml big bloom. The trichomes are appearing more on JH2 and I'm constantly checking. JH1 has only a week or 2 left...my guess is harvest at D80. D68-glad I started flush last night on JH1 as most trichomes are cloudy now...a few amber stragglers but any day now it could be good. I mayflush again tomorrow as well to ensure proper drainage has occurred. JH2 got fed a little over half a gallon of 10ml big bloom, PH to 6.5...the flush will begin soon on this one as well. D69-JH2 needs a feed again tonight. Soil is dry. Going to give around 3/4 gallon 10ml big bloom and 10ml tiger. Going to flush JH1 with a gallon of straight water PH to 6.5 ish. Curious to see the run off PH on that one. Soon... *gave each a gallon tonight. JH1 was flushed and JH2 was fed. D70-JH1 is stupid stinky. That's all to report as of mid day. PM-haven't checked JH2 yet but JH1 is ready to go. Going to flush one more time tomorrow night, let sit for 2 days and on D74, darkness will ensue. Hoping a chop on D76 or D77, pending trichomes of course. Plant has not been cannibalizing or turning yet so there's still some nutrients left in the system. JH2 is plugging along looking very sativa-ish. Going to back off the feeding nutrients tomorrow for JH2, at least of tiger so there is a push to utilize remaining nutrients and cut down on synthetics. Very much looking forward to an organic grow next time with my pal Jack. Tent is getting quite stinky.

D71-JH1 is approaching the end. Going to flush tonight, then place in darkness on D74. 48-72 hours after will be harvest ready. Dark room conditions are 63f 50%RH. JH2 needs more time, will really inspect tonight and develop a rough time frame for flush/dark. D72-missed the flush and feed last night. Doing it tonight and pushing the schedule out 1 day. Plants are doing great now that it's only them in the grow tent. D73-flushed both plants last night a gallon each. JH2 is showing all cloudy trichomes. Still waiting to see more amber before I place JH1 in darkness, it may still actually be D74 pending conditions. I'm actually going to wait until I see yellowing of leaves before I put in darkness. Due to flush, the plant will show me when it's due...not my schedule. D74-JH1 will be flushed with 3-5 gallons tonight. This is the last watering for JH1, cloudy is 95%, amber about 5%. Going to place in darkness for 48-72 hours when I see about 10%amber. JH2 is mostly all cloudy, some clear, few amber on sugar leafs. Flush tonight of 2 gallons and daily trichome checks moving forward. I should also add that I am seeing the tips turn yellow, have been for a bit but its more more prevalent due to flushing. PM-flushed JH1 with 4 gallons. JH2 received 2.5 gallon flush. Going to let 48 hours pass before I consider another flush for either plant. Any day now though for JH1... D75- I'm about ready to harvest both. Done feeding altogether for JH1. Will place in darkness on D80 until D82pm or D83am. JH2 has another flush tomorrow of 3 gallons exactly. That will be one of the last flushes for JH2, then darkness D83 or D84, maybe D85...pending. JH1 has a finish line now. Very exciting! D76-no flush for JH2, medium is still wet. JH1 is more wet after flush, so it's done taking anything in I think. Staying true to schedule with darkness on D80, or 5.22.22. Will go for 72 hours of darkness, harvest D83pm. If JH2 is still super moist tomorrow, I will proceed with flush but with 5 gallons, as it may be done too. If there are enough amber I will place in darkness with JH1, maybe a day later on D81, harvest D85. That actually sounds good. I'm going to do just that, as both are basically ready. In my week 12 I will repeat this process and time it properly according to the dates I set. One week to chop. D77- flushing JH2 with 5 gallons tonight. The medium is quite wet still. Getting rid of any build up one last time. Both plants are ready. Darkness can ensue at any point for both of them for 72 hours and I would feel good to chop. Going to really try to wait for D80 on both for darkness, and harvest D83pm or D84pm, but I'm antsy. PM-flushed JH2 with 5 gallons. Final drink...got some good final pictures before the pre darkness shots. Stay tuned! Tent climbs to about 83f in the day and I have been maintaining 30-40%RH. Updated conditions will be transferred to final week's diary. I'm getting bummed this run is dang near over, I've enjoyed documenting the grow and becoming attached to the plants. Next week tomorrow!

D78-cruise control now. Darkness for both plants on D80 after 16 hours light, then harvest D83pm or D84pm, pending my time allotments. No more anything to them except climate control. I'm actually done inspecting trichomes as well daily, I will verify D80am that the progress is there one last time but otherwise that's all she wrote. D79-power went out mid day. ComEd says power will be back in 8 hours. Tent is getting humid and there was no sun outside..so I moved them. Soil was still wet in JH2 and I really wanted to carry out plan but forget about mold...darkness until D82pm or D83pm D81-it's been 2.5 days of darkness...to chop and start dry or wait one more day...hmmm D82-wet trim and chop of JH1. trimming JH2 tonight and harvesting D83. Wet weight of JH1 after trim was 158g. Trim is currently drying out to be used later.

Very sad the grow is over but very excited to dry and cure. Wet trimmed after harvest and keeping the leaves separated for butter. These plants became monsters and I enjoyed growing each pheno of the Jack Herer. JH1 was a huge budding plant in the end leaning more of an indica yield, and JH2 produced several large colas, spiraling as a sativa should. A little over 12oz wet weight of flower between both of them. The JH1 main cola was over an oz alone. Excited for this dry and will provide a joint report on both plants. A+ overall from fast buds, this plant was basically foolproof as long as it was given the nutrients it wanted. Thank you to everyone who has followed along!
