3/14 (0900): All’s well in the garden! CPs grew their 3-point leaves over the past 48ish hours, 5-points are coming in even more quickly. Expect I’ll need to transplant them by the end of this week. HK and 710 are happy lil weedlings, can probably go another week or two in the cups. Overall, things are running super smoothly. Can’t wait to get the automated enviro setup! 3/14 (1200): Starting to increase lighting up to full veg strength. Previously ~270umol, increased to 330umol for CP seedlings. HK/710 are off to the side under 270umol lighting. 3/16 (1330): on the advice of a very wise grower, I’ve been focusing more on maintaining the right VPD in the tent and I think it’s helping to speed growth along nicely. Avg VPD is .75, hard to get it much lower without making it sapping heat from the tent. Turned down exhaust fan a bit to try and stabilize things. Also, watered today. 3/16 (2200): Increasing the light a few days ago was definitely the wrong move. Leaves have started curling inward more throughout the day and I know it's not because they're dry. Now that I think of it, some of the random light spots on the leaves do kinda look like light burn. Additionally I've been concerned with how closely the new nodes are stacking, it's looking a little overcrowded. VPD has been hanging around .7 so I know it's not that slowing down growth. Raised the light to 20in above "canopy" and dialed back output to 230umol. Going to start low and see if I can't get them to stretch a little. Fingers crossed. 3/17 (0830): Happy St. Paddy's Day!! Lights were on when I woke up and, maybe I'm still baked from last night, but the plants seem happier with less light. Was doing some reading on Photone's website about DLI, realized I'd been giving the ladies nearly 23mol/m2/day whereas their demand at this stage is only 16mol/m2/day. Something tells me my light has been a bit too strong since day 1, so I'm making a mental note for next time. Photone has great DLI calculator that allows you to determine cannabis's light need by week. I think less light from the start will help to get that super speedy Week 1-2 growth I see from a lot of pros. Uploading a few pics this morning so we can do a comparison later today. 3/17 (1900): atmosphere and lighting changes have gone a long way towards getting these ladies moving again. Top growth continues and lower nodes are starting to sprout. Love seeing happy plants!! 3/18 (1050): Well, it's Day 14 since sprout for the CP gals and they're growing away nicely. Top growth continues, lower nodes continue, all is well. HK and 710 are happy as well, true leaves developing nicely with 3-pointers on the way. Only concern is some wind burn on the outside of one CP, just on a few leaves in particular. Set up a wind break for the fan, hopefully that helps. 3/18 (2030): Was looking at my plants this evening (as I often do) and happened to notice (when I dropped one of the cups - oops - only lost some soil off the top) that there were roots poking out the holes in the cups! So I decided it was time to transplant the CP gals. Had been worried that it was too early given the upper growth, but I was pleased to see the roots starting to circle at the bottom of the cup. AFAIK that means it's time! Had a slight mishap with one of the girls (same one I dropped) and a little soil fell off the top again as I was putting her in the new pot. She was a little unstable but I shored her up and she doesn't even need a prop! Didn't hear any roots ripping so I think its all good. Of course, made sure to coat the hole with some Dynomyco. Heard that stuff works crazy good. Gave a light watering of PH 6.5ish just to get the new soil settled (cups were still fairly damp when I transplanted) - about 2 cups per plant. Adjusted the lights up but still at about 16 DLI (babies are on the side at 12). Pray for the candyland peyote, yall!! These will be final homes. 3/19 (0945): Everyone's looking happy in the tent. Update pics tonight since I want to give them time to grow, but I think the transplant was successful. Growth continues on lower nodes and tops, leaves are praying up. Happy happy.

I think my seedlings are over-watered, making them droopy and dark green. I moistened the soil prior to planting but haven’t watered since. Want to try and get the cotyledons to perk up a little. How can I do this?

They are going to die off and drop off soon enough anyways so dont worry about em. You can see the soil is still quite damp, so its likely the roots are not getting as much oxygen as they need, So unless u want to start poking pin holes in the cup to allow more air in, all you can do is wait for the soil to dry out on its own over the next few days and the plant will start growing when the oxygen levels around the roots go back up. The more perlite I seem to add to my seedling mix the better they seem to do, im up to about 50% perlite and 50% fine potting soil these days. U can also sorta gently squeeze the cup sides lightly to break up the soil a bit and allow some air in, but do it gently so u get small cracks in the soil surface, air doesnt need much space and u dont want to damage the roots, so softly is enough. And yeah, its what i do for mine when I over water em and the soil compacts a bit like that. Thats why i use more perlite in the mix now for their first container.

Looking good friend congratulations on a solid start to your first grow! Would you be alright with me offering you some generalized advice? You are doing a lot right in this one I want to make sure you know why so you keep up the good work! Cannabis plants love heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it, In veg we can exploit this for much more vigorous faster growth. Generally, our seedling stage & young plant life stage are very slow, When our plants are small our roots are small as well. We speed this phase up with some humidity in the air for our leafs to do some foliar intake from. generally, in veg & early flower we want our temperature range to be 79-84 MAX with lights on & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. It is important we keep our temperature gaps tight in veg & early flower if we allow for too much swing in temp more than 10 degrees less with lights off our plants stretch a lot which we do not want. For the first few weeks humidity up to 75% is great. If you haven't done so yet check out vapor pressure deficit and how it relates to growing cannabis. All growers should get used to using a VPD chart and logging their numbers daily. This is the best article & VPD chart to go off of. https://cerescann.com/importance-of-measuring-vpd/ Also, make sure to grab yourself a PAR meter & thermal laser temp gun like the fluke 64 MAX to better read your plant's needs and grow to them. These will also help you dial your lights in to optimal distance safely. Keep up the great work friend! I'd love your opinion on my 2 diaries, I have 1 completed a 200 light 7,000 plant diary & am just finishing off a flashback greenhouse grow I did last summer. I am currently producing a tutorial series for youtube for all growers to utilize. If that interests you hop over to my youtube and subscribe it is linked off my grow diaries profile. Happy growing friend!

@LegacyMarketFarm thank you so freakin much for all the sage advice. I made a note for myself to drop temps a little at night during flower. The candyland peyote is a particularly purple strain so I definitely want to bring that out before harvest. Btw, my wifi hygrometer came in and, lucky me, it shows VPD in the tent too. Makes balancing environment a lot easier. Plants look happier already! Thanks again sensei 🙏🙏

@twistandcrawl, In veg & early flower no not needed, The tighter the gaps in temps through these stages the more stacked our plants grow without unwanted stretch. Past weeks 4-6 of flower when our plants finish their vertical growth or when we see our autoflowers finish their vertical growth during their flower cycle, This does become important if we want to draw more desired traits out of our plants. You have to remember, Whether we are growing these plants to make seed or not, They do not know any different. These plants want to insure their reproduction happens and to do that, There are certain genetic instinctual responses programed into this plant to sense the ending of the season and do exactly what I just said. We can stimulate this in our indoor rooms by slowly beginning to widen the temp gaps to beyond 10 degrees less with lights off once our vertical growth has completed, Our plants are now focused on producing flower clusters to make seeds in and get covered in resin to allow pollen to stick to them better. If we stimulate these responses by simulating the ending of the season in our rooms we get a much nicer finished product. Our buds will be tighter and bigger and much more potent, The widening gap in temperature simulates the colder nights as the season ends, We can also use light deprivation in the last 2 weeks to simulate cloud cover and colder feed temps in the last week before pull down. I hope that helps you understand why this is important friend :)

Bro your mainline looks 1000 times better than mine...mine just isn't taking off like that then when I topped the 2 chutes it's only growing one top back out on 2, none on 1 and 2 in the last one....I don't get it lol...I c your 710 is in flower that's dope, my 710 trop berry didn't make it between switching tents like 6 times lol

@twistandcrawl, man thank you brother 🙏. I appreciate that....u know how in your own head u can get over your plants when there's noone but you around, can't show ppl to get opinions (except in here and EVERYONE'S an expert and their way is the only right way lol) so u stress over stuff that's probably not even a big deal....it's just cuz we care about our babies so much and want them to flourish is all....it still sucks when u can't get something to turn out the way they should....your mainline is A THOUSAND times cleaner than mine.

Don't trip on that light colored top growth bro, u gotta think that's the freshest part of your plant, it will darken up as time passes. Just remember if you have your light low turn your brightness way down. If you have it higher turn it up a bit so your plants don't stretch so much in early veg. All in on bro she looks beautiful you're doing great man. I can't wait till you're harvest to see how she turns out... There's only two strains that I don't have that I really want, all three for real including fruity pebbles OG but the true candyland from granddaddy purple genetics and I believe it's called Grandpa Larry or something and it's like a mix of candyland and Larry OG and granddaddy purple or something. Sounds amazing. My favorite strains are true can assess GDP and Kushman cut Strawberry Cough (which I don't know why it's called that Kyle Cushman didn't even breed it, I'm guessing it's because he was the only person in America you could get true clones from hence the"Kushman's CUT" idk though so don't quote me.) Another thing that I recently learned, especially if you use my Mykos, fill those Solo cups up to the base of your first node and that stem will grow roots the whole length of the stem. That is a proven fact and helps exponentially in growth. Keep on keeping on you going to be smoking loud in no time.

@twistandcrawl, yeah I actually just came across that filling up the pot with soil thing up to the bottom node. When dude pulled the plan up after he cut it down you could see it all the way up to stand bro I was like holy
twistandcrawl
twistandcrawl
@FullTankGardens thanks dude tbh I think I might top that part anyway... like tonight lol. Just want it to stretch a little more so I can cut the stem without hitting the nodes. Tbh my biggest problem this run has been too much light too early. Lights currently at 30" and 25%. Ladies are plenty thicc but I want them a little taller too. Also I took your advice and hit the stems with more dynomyco and soil. And yeah I'm pretty sure the Kushman cut is like, his pheno of that particular strain. Or cuts from his mother plant. Psyched for my Pandora's Grove seeds to come in, gonna save em until I'm a better grower lolol

Looking great bro nice transplant job too, I need to transplant my Barney's Farm mimosa x orange punch sometime this weekend at least by Monday if I get lazy LOL. They both had a real good tap Roots circling at the bottom that's good. Also if you're open for a tip during transplanting, VERY VERY LIGHTLY, massage the root ball working it loose a little bit so the roots are kind of loosened up and set it down in there so as soon as they're comfortable and moist again the next time they start drying out they'll really start reaching out and searching for moisture so they'll really get out into that new soil and you're set. All in all you're doing great man good job.
