Week 6: Things to know: -I've moved to the Blumat Tropf system for convenience as I won't be at home for a good week and a half coming up. Then again in June for a week plus. It's taken some time to dial it in...I followed the directions carefully and precisely, but as always there's a bit of tweaking. The 'carrots' for the two Durbans were working, but I didn't feel like they were giving quite enough water as the surface and outer edges were remaining pretty bone dry. I've nudged the valves in very small increments a couple times during the week and now I'm happier with the moisture content. -Last week I put 6g of water/feed in the reservoir, and really only used about 2g of that across the week. But now I seem to be draining a little bit quicker, and have used about an inch and a half of water since refilling the res. back on Tuesday evening. -I'm using GH Maxi at half strength, and espsom at half too. This week I moved from all MaxiGro to 2/3 Gro and 1/3 MaxiBloom. Next week I'll do half and half as I ready for flipping to flower. For those counting, I had been doing 6g per gallon Maxi for feeds with 1g of epsom. Now I'm doing 3g per gallon and .5g epsom, but all the time rather than every other. -I do have one plant showing a minor deficiency. I gave a little bit (10ml per gallon) of Cal/Mag, since i think it's a calcium thing. -overall both plants are happy and just putting out new greens all the time. I've been quietly snipping out extraneous bud sites and 'topping' tips. So each quarter has 2 cola sites at their termini, and then I have two center colas that have also been topped. So if you're counting that will make 12 colas per plant. I'm probably going to 12/12 at the beginning of next week. They're about 6" off the soil due to the training, but that's about where I want them so that they can really stretch once flip happens. I expect they'll triple in size at that point.

What's making these lowers blotchy yellow with some 'rust' spots? Any ideas? I think it's probably a P/K issue, am I underfeeding? Blumat drip system, Promix HP, Maxibloom @3.5g per gal. Ca/Mg @ 5ml per gallon. pH @5.8-6.2.

Hey there LeastExpected, so a few things are happening right now , basically it's from an imbalance in your NPK ratio. in flower you really want something like NPK 4-8-8 , right now you're at something like 2-4-8 , so right away you can tell you're going to be missing phosphorous, so what you're seeing in terms of yellowing is actually signs of K excess as well as P-deficiency. If you can find a way to add P that would help make your ratio better, and the problem will stop spreading almost immediately. Hope this helps ! 🚀

@@JerkFlowers, Good luck with yours! So far mine are proceeding as planned. I'm going to try to keep 'em low because they'll probably stretch to fill the entire tent!

Just saw you were gonna add some Epsom salt for mag, do you feel like the mag in maxigro isn't enough?

@LeastExpectedGrower, That makes sense, thank you for the explanation and details. I look forward to seeing your ongoing grow!!

@@JerkFlowers, I've really only just started using the Maxigro...previously I was using GH Trio but moved over towards the end of my last grow. A few longtime growers have suggested .5-1g of Mg weekly wouldn't hurt and I did previously have purple stems (a known sign of deficiency). I previously use Ca/Mg, but I don't think I need extra calcium, given my water starts at ~220ppm. This grow I've now used epsom salts in quantities of .5 and 1g and haven't had any signs of mg toxicity.
