3/11/2022: Day 6: plants progressing as expected. Showing their first 'real' leaves...a bit stretched, but we'll fix that in the next few days as I trim and jar the previous plants in the tent and put these in their rightful place. Over the past few days I've lowered my 'low watt' lights so we're metering at ~275umol. 3/10/2022: Day 5: I was getting a bit nervous that my seeds weren't germinating. Maybe it's that Sativas take a bit longer or that the photos I'd been doing just popped really quickly, but I'd always had something above soil by day 3. Anyway, both seedlings showed today...one this morning, one by afternoon. Since the tent is in 'drying' mode, I set up a quick starter area next to it with 2 30w leds that are great for this purpose. They're still on the heating mat for another few days as well. You can see my little setup, complete with hot peppers (germinated about a month ago), and cups full of tomatoes for eventual spring garden planting. Metered and adjusted the lighting to be at ~150umol for a few days. I'll start ramping it up as things fall into place as well. 3/6/2022: Day 1: Just chopped and am drying my last run (2x Tangerine Dream auto + 2x Northern Lights auto). Fun enough, but ready to move on to other things and challenges. After a few runs of autos & things that were more heavily indica, I'm ready to try something different. Really looking to do a bunch of photo grows that are heavily sativa, and closer to 'landrace.' New seeds in hand, including a bunch of Durban Poison, Lamb's Bread, Maui Waui, Kali Mist; then also Super Lemon Haze, Blue Dream, "Chocodope" (chocolope variant), and Apollo 13. Gonna start with some Durban Poison. Since there's gonna be a good chance of BIG stretch and lots of growth, I'm going to do only 2 in my tent instead of 4, which is what I've done with the Auto-kneebiters. My plan (all best laid plans and all that)...is to run two plants, be pretty active/aggressive about keeping them low early with a manifold technique then flip them as early as possible to retain enough room for them to stretch/grow out. I'll do classic technique for 8ish colas per plant, and I'll grow to 5 nodes and then snip back to 3, etc. I know that it's not effective for churning flower, but I have plenty on hand...about 3oz. left from October harvest and another probably 12oz from the run I just harvested. I don't sell and I don't go through enough to need to push an aggressive schedule. Besides I've run all my 'fast' autos to over 100 days to get to full ripeness. So, time...I've got some. *yes these are older pictures but all materials/gear is the same. *We'll be growing using General Hydroponics Maxigro for the first week or two of nutrients then transitioning to Maxibloom for flower. I could do just MB throughout, but I'd like a bit more nitrogen early on. We'll be using our 220-250ppm well water and I'll be also using Real Grower's Recharge weekly as well as .5-1g Epsom salts weekly. What I do for prep for planting: -plastic .75 gallon pots for seeding. These have had holes added to the sides for additional evaporation and have a ton of holes in the bottom. I like these better than solos, as they're deeper (more room for that vertical taproot), and are good for 3-4 weeks of veg growth before needing transplant. Also they're not hard to water correctly early on. -Pro-Mix HP+ for soil. It's had Xtreme Mykos added (about a tablespoon per 4g or so and well mixed by trowel in a 5g bucket. Once mixed I've added nearly a gallon of water that's been pH'ed to 6.5. Not super important to pH at germination stage, but I do it anyway. It's enough water for the soil to be moist/wet enough to clump when squeezed but not so much that you can squeeze water out of it. It will also be moist enough that I won't have to water until sprouts have surfaced and are growing. -Pots are topped (but not packed) seeds are dropped into .5" centered holes. I got 10 Durban Poison seeds, so I just picked two that looked fair sized and healthy. No care is given to seed orientation...they can figure it out on their own. I did drop an additional pinch of Mykos into the holes as well. -Placed onto a heating mat, set to 80% with the sensor inserted to about 3/4ths of the way in. I also happen to have seeding pots of all our summer tomatoes germinating too. Right now they're not in the tent but in a big plastic storage container/bin that has a low wattage LED grow unit over one side of it (Hot pepper seedlings are also under the light), so they're getting indirect mild light but probably something like 70ppfd or so. -Once we move forward, we'll be using General Hydroponics Maxi series (Gro & Bloom) after we have the first real leaves. I'll use grow for the first couple of weeks then transition to bloom before flipping. I'll start super mild w/ 1g of Maxigro when the first serrated leaves show up then ramp up to 5-7g. I'll also be using Real Grower's Recharge weekly and .5-1g of Epsom salts weekly for magnesium. The water will be our 220-250ppm well water that I'll pH to 6.5. Other gear/details: -Small humidifier w/distilled water running on an Inkbird -Fans/ducts are: AC Infinity T6 & S6 w/ Controller 67 (Temp/Humidity triggers, will upgrade to a 69 eventually), exhaust ducts to basement window and has an AC-I one-way damper to terminate so that hot air escapes but cool air won't come in. Intake duct has a layer or 2 or MERV13 filtering the incoming air and this also helps maintain proper negative pressure. Exhaust has a Terrabloom 6x16 carbon filter. Two 6" Honeywells are flown/hung on each end of the tent, on smart plugs, I usually alternate them hourly, but if these plants get as tall as suspected, I'll have one up top and one underneath. -pH Up/Down, BlueLab pH meter & cheapo TDS meter for water/feed. -There's an additional wifi/bt therm/humid. sensor in the room with app for monitoring anywhere. -Expecting some spring/summer trips, I'll probably be getting and using a Blumat system for those times.

Week 1: 3/15/2022: Finally got the previous run dried in tent and removed. Did a vacuuming of the tent and a quick sanitary wipe-down and right on to getting our spring crops from the low light germination setup into the tent. The old setup read a PPFD at ~285-300umol for lighting on the Phantom Photobio, so right now we've got the tent set up with two of the HLG 225's on, both at full brightness and set about 38" from the first leaves...that brings us to 375-400umol. Looking for a bit more light this round, since I'd like these to do less early stretching since I know they'll be killin' it once we flip...being Sativas that are close to landrace. -Plants are on a 1" piece of foam to keep the root-zones a bit warmer. The cement floor IR's to 66f. -Plants got a watering back on 3/13, the start of week 1. -Leaf Surface temps read 2f degrees lower than ambient, so my VPD offset is just right. I pushed my temps up a little, with fans engaging at 85. -Humidifier is set to 68% RH on the Inkbird. The AC-Infinity sensor reads that at 70% which is fine too. VPD is sitting right around .80 to 1. -This next watering will be done with a very mild amount of MaxiGro (probably 1 or 1.5 g per gallon), and some Real Grower's Recharge. -You can see the hot pepper plants I started back in January all doing pretty well. Tomato starts are also now sprouting and included.

Week 2 of Veg.: 3/22/2022. Watered each plant with half a liter. Since I'm using Mykos & Recharge, I've started to add blackstrap molasses (Plantation brand) to my watering schedule to keep the biome happy. It seems to work because I can see the trademark white fuzz of mycorrhizae on the surface as well as in the 'air/drainage holes' in the pots. Gave a superlight ~2mg of maxigro as well since the ProMix doesn't have much of an initial charge. For those following along at home, that's about 200ppm or .4EC. Also started in on some regular epsom salts. Not too worried about calcium right now, but I think my water is lighter on Mg, so 1g added to the weekly feed. You can see some leaf-burn on the first set of single lobe leaves...that's from the move to the tent and probably me being a bit aggressive with ramping up the lights after using the low-light setup for seeding. Overall, Not too much bad to report...except that a few of the tent-mate hot peppers aren't doing terribly well.

Week 3 of veg; Day 22 (03/27/2022) Watered today, though I probably could have waited another day to do so; though I don't like to stretch beyond 4 days between watering in general. Plants are coming along, the first set of leaves that were burnt are now just peaking out from under the fresh new growth that's pretty happy. I did hit them with a pretty strong upper 300umol light since moved to the tent in hopes of keeping the nodes tight (expecting a big stretch). and I can see we're forming the 4th node now. I backed off the light to be more aligned with suggested 3rd week of flower DLI, so we're closer to 345umol now. That should give some space between nodes. Once we hit 6, I'm cutting back to 3 and then we'll do a sort-of mainline. The HLG's are pretty solid, so I only have 2 of 3 running in the tent right now and I'm manipulating light strength by raising and lowering rather than dimming. Today's watering included a half a teaspoon of recharge and another teaspoon of molasses...not for plant health but for mycos health. Next water will be a feed and I'll start ramping up the Maxigro levels...and continue with some epsom salts for magnesium. Day 26 (3/31/2022): Feed day! Plants got 5g per gallon of MaxiGro, 1g per gallon epsom salts, and another teaspoon of molasses to feed the mycosphere. Overall EC is right around 1.3 or so. This is a little more than twice the last feed, but I feel like the plants can handle it. Checked in morning of 4/1/2022 to find that there's no burning yet and usually they express that within 12 hours of feeding, so so far so good. Plants this week have started to show outward growth rather than remaining the same size and concentrating on root growth. The soil mycos is STRONG with white velvety fuzz on any damp soil surfaces. We're starting on the 4th node. Though the plants look pretty compact on one stem, the 'suckers' will become prominent this week. The single and a few of the 3-lobed leaves that suffered from light burn and/or maybe underfeeding in the transition to the tent & bright lights have pretty much died away, but all other growth is nicely green and appears happy. New grow setup move: got an Inkbird ITC-308 WIFI on Wednesday. Right now it's controlling a space heater outside the tent to raise the intake air. After 3 grows with no additional heating, I've decided that my 'dark' temps which can sit down in the mid-60's is fine but slows growth/productivity. I have a small oil-filled flat panel on the way that will go in the tent (only 400w), and that will hopefully keep things a bit more even overall. In the short term, the 1000w heater outside the tent is doing a decent job and our window of temps right now is 76F-85F. Humidity is dialed into the mid 60% range to keep our VPD within a few points of 1. The plan this weekend is to transplant into 5g bags...reapply the Xtreme Gardening Mykos along the way and keep going.

Week 4! (actually that's tomorrow, but since I repotted today...) 4/2/2022, Day 28: I really like starting in the .75g pots. They give enough room and space that you don't run into some of the trouble of using Solos or similar smaller containers. Gives enough depth and width early on for the roots to explore. Last time 'round as well as this time, 3 weeks then move to the 5g's. Could certainly go 4 weeks and get more root bind if you wanted but I don't know that I buy the 'potbound for transplant is good' vibe. The feed back a few days ago at 5g of MaxiGro really did the trick. The plants indeed have grown noticeably every day since. I prefer re-potting within a few days of a watering/feeding. The soil is still damp enough to stay together and I think it helps move the rootball without stress. I do a pretty detailed job of soil prep though: - Promix from the bail moved into a 5g bucket with about 3.5 or 4g worth of soil. any clumps broken up by hand, and big root/stick/bark removed. -Mix in ~2tbsp. of Xtreme Gardening Mykos into the dry Promix HP+ -Water has been prepped (6.3pH, 5g MaxiGro, a half a tsp. or a little less of Real Grower's Recharge. - About .65g of water per bucket of soil, mixed in REALLY well. Make sure to get all the stuff at the bottom brought up and evenly clumpy damp/wet -Fill bags about 1/4 of the way, put empty pot in place and fill around all the way. If top edge of pot isn't at top edge of bag, add a bit more soil underneath. -Don't pack the soil but a little pressure to keep it in shape for when you pull the empty pot. I usually have about 1.5" left at the top to fill. -Unpot the plants by rolling/pushing loosening the sides and bottom. hold sideways/upside down and remove old pot. Insert into the awaiting hole you've made. -Add more soil around the newly nestled plant. In this case, another inch or so of soil, burying the stem a little bit too. My new planting ProMix was wetted to about the dampness of the soil in the rootball, or just a little more. The idea is to create a fluffy moist place for those surface roots to start exploring. Using nutrients/Recharge in water to match the environment that the plants have in their rootball already. Lights in tent adjusted lower with Phantom PhotoBio meter to 480umol, which the handy DLI calculator says is a DLI of 31.1mol, which should be right on for vegetative week 4. 4/4/2022: Day 30. Watering day. Soil was evenly dried from the transplant & from Thursdays feeding...so time to dig in. This time it was blackstrap, 2g. of MaxiGro and a half teaspoon of Recharge. Each plant ended up with just shy of a gallon and a half to generate some run-off and the leftovers went onto the tomato seedlings. Overall I'm really happy with the condition. The color has deepened without being nitrogen-green, and the plants are indeed expanding up and out. 6" as of today. Still working on the 5th and 6th nodes , once they've started to do some stuff, I'm going to LST some of the lowers and do a mainline. I feel like getting my shit together on having the Inkbird heat controller and being able to keep the temps in a tighter mid-70's to mid 80's range is totally a benefit. 4/7/2022: Day 33: Took the clippers to the two plants today. Topped back a few nodes (The plan was to 4, though I think I was at 7 and knocked it back to 5. I also removed the very bottom node's leaves & very vestigial branch growth. Will go back in a couple days & check out the progress and either continue to trim up. or start spreading the newly emerging branches to do more of a manifold type setup. 4/8/2022: Day 34: Feeding day. Bumped up the Maxigro by a gram to 6g, and added the usual 1g of epsom salts and a bit of molasses. You can see from the pics that the topping and cleanup haven't really had a major effect on the plants, no wilt or droop. One plant still has a few light-burned leaves left from a few weeks back when I transferred to brighter lights.

Week 5 of Vegetation phase. 4/10/2022: -I was in the tent transplanting the tomato seedlings into larger pots...so I figured it was a good day (a couple down the line from topping) to see how things are progressing. Seem to be overall pretty happy. I got up under each plant and trimmed out another nodes' worth of growth, so we have a bit of room under the canopy to do some work in the next week. Hopefully the new branch sites will continue to extend and expand so that I can maybe tie them down by the end of the week. The idea is that we'll do the two lowers long and wider, then after they have a few nodes I'll terminate them and get 2 colas on each end. the two uppers I'll also train out the same way, terminate and get an additional 2 colas per end. From there I'll figure out which of the inner nodes looks most promising and pick two of those to continue and snip the rest. If all works out, that will end up with 10 good viable colas/bud sites per plant. The idea will be to try to switch to flower soon after I have all the branch/bud sites tidied away so that the plants are pretty low for flower & stretch. -As we enter week 5, it's also time to adjust lighting. While I could just lower the two HLG225's that I've been using, there are three in the tent. Using two but lowering them just makes the light spread less wide, so might as well fire up the 3rd HLG. It will also keep the tent warmer during lights-on and I can downward adjust the RH to maintain a good VPD. Anyway, week 5 and we've upped our DLI to something around ~40.3 and we're at a nice 625umol for PPFD. - Upcoming this week...Blumat Tropf system incoming. With a few extended trips away, even my 4-day watering schedule will be disrupted, so we're gonna try a blumat system. I have a medium 'deluxe' box coming from Sustainable Village, along with a handful of extras (tubing, connects, etc.). I'll be setting this up for not only the two Durban Poisons but also the hot pepper and tomato plants. Hopefully this will be just the thing for my 9 day trip out at the end of the month then a later 10 day out in June. If I really like it, I may just keep it up. I'll be DIYing a reservoir with a quick trip to the Loews for a 12ish gallon tub, and all that. We'll see how it all unfolds! 04/12/2022, Day 37: -Watered & started working on the training. Removed a few lower leaves and cleared the second node. The 3rd and 4th nodes have been bent and trained flat...will push these out a few nodes then will top those ends and remove a bunch of the foliage from the middle nodes down to 10 total colas. Plants remain happy and seem to be taking to the surgery and structure pretty well. - Set up Blumat Tropf system. Currently have 14 carrots, one per each Durban, but then one each for all the tomato and pepper plants in the tent. Once things heat up outside, I'll pull those from the tent and we'll be down to two drippers total (maybe 4, we'll see how I feel about coverage with one dripper. System is easy enough to lay out, though a pain with so many plants. I have a loop with two reservoir outlets, each with a shutoff, and then a bleed/flush valve at the far end of the loop. I did find that one of the inline filters wasn't water-tight and while I tightened it down it still had a very slow leak, so I removed that. Gave the system 12 hours (light) before dialing in the carrot valves so the soil wasn't going to be kept super super wet, but wet enough. I'm sure I'll have to re-dial it in. Tank is 20g but I've currently got 6g of water with ~3mg of MaxiGro per gallon and .5mg of epsom.

Week 6: Things to know: -I've moved to the Blumat Tropf system for convenience as I won't be at home for a good week and a half coming up. Then again in June for a week plus. It's taken some time to dial it in...I followed the directions carefully and precisely, but as always there's a bit of tweaking. The 'carrots' for the two Durbans were working, but I didn't feel like they were giving quite enough water as the surface and outer edges were remaining pretty bone dry. I've nudged the valves in very small increments a couple times during the week and now I'm happier with the moisture content. -Last week I put 6g of water/feed in the reservoir, and really only used about 2g of that across the week. But now I seem to be draining a little bit quicker, and have used about an inch and a half of water since refilling the res. back on Tuesday evening. -I'm using GH Maxi at half strength, and espsom at half too. This week I moved from all MaxiGro to 2/3 Gro and 1/3 MaxiBloom. Next week I'll do half and half as I ready for flipping to flower. For those counting, I had been doing 6g per gallon Maxi for feeds with 1g of epsom. Now I'm doing 3g per gallon and .5g epsom, but all the time rather than every other. -I do have one plant showing a minor deficiency. I gave a little bit (10ml per gallon) of Cal/Mag, since i think it's a calcium thing. -overall both plants are happy and just putting out new greens all the time. I've been quietly snipping out extraneous bud sites and 'topping' tips. So each quarter has 2 cola sites at their termini, and then I have two center colas that have also been topped. So if you're counting that will make 12 colas per plant. I'm probably going to 12/12 at the beginning of next week. They're about 6" off the soil due to the training, but that's about where I want them so that they can really stretch once flip happens. I expect they'll triple in size at that point.

Week 7 of veg. I'm away this week so the Blumat setup is in full effect. I filled it with 11g, with 3.75mg pre gallon of Maxibloom and with a bit of either magnesium or calcium deficiency showing on the lowers of one of the plants, I've started to add Ca/Mg to the feed at a rate of 1 tsp per gallon. I've also mixed up a foliar spray with it as well and I'm spraying twice a week. I've also moved the light scheme to 12/12 to trigger flowering..I know that they're low (as intended) but I expect a lot of vertical growth in the next two weeks, so now is go-time.

Week 8, and now we're at the first week of flower! I left town back at the beginning of week 7, trusting the tent and all its occupants to the Blumat Tropf system in place with 11g of water/feed all set up. As I was leaving, I switched to 12/12 on my way out the door (literally) knowing that waiting any longer would turn the stretch into a serious pain in the ass. ...It all worked and when I made it home middle of week 8, everything was still green and growing. Maybe too well. The tent was in chaos, with the Tomato plants stretching a good 1.5' while I was gone and the Durbans doubling their size. The reservoir was empty, and the system was dry, so time for a reset. I did pull out all the tomato and pepper plants to harden them off for outside. I had to pull apart the Blumat system to clean it since it went dry and also refill and reset the carrots for the system. In the meantime, the tent is back to 2 occupants, both doing well. The Ca/Mg issue with one of the plants is subsiding with some attention to added and some foliar feeding. I've re-adjusted the tie-downs and brought down any of the really tall colas. The feed is still 3.75g per gallon MaxiBloom plus 5ml of Ca/Mg. I'm pH'ing downwards since I've had some advice that in Promix HP, I'm basically running a hydro operation. I now start it at 5.9pH and as it rises, I adjust downwards again.

Week 2 of flower (end of transition, flower structures are starting to be more obvious). Really just coasting along here. Plants are seeing 12/12 light/dark and I have updated their PPFD to around 750, giving a DLI just north of 30 (somewhere around 31-32). Since I'm using the Blumat Tropf system, I've really only been checking in every day to see how things are looking in the tent and giving the reservoir a little pH Down every couple days to remain in the 5.8 to 6.2 range. The system seems to have provided the plants with about 4g of water since last week when I re-set the whole system. Tonight I'll drain, clean and re-fill the tank again and give the lines a quick bleed. I've kept up a quick foliar spray every few days with just Ca/Mg to keep any deficiency at bay, but I'm also adding about 4.5ml of CaliMagic per gallon to the feed. I have kept snipping out the budsites on what will be the lowers, to concentrate growth up top once it really stretches. So far neither plant have aggressively stretched but that should be hitting for the next few weeks. I do keep adjusting the ties to keep the colas under control and I think all is good. The Ca/Mg (not sure which) deficiency from the past few weeks has receded and I think there's one last leaf that's a bit chlorotic and spotted. That one leaf will be snipped in the next few days. By day 68 flowers are obviously developing. Trichomes are easily visible as well. I don't remember it happening so quickly in past grows, but then they were autos and this is a resin-heavy strain. Plants are happily drinking about .75g of water per day. I've made a measuring stick for the reservoir so I can see the day to day use of water. They seem completely happy living in 75f-86f and running between 49-55% RH. No cupping or canoeing and I feel like the Ca/Mg is in the rear view mirror.

Week 10, week 7 of flower. I don't think I've had a strain that pushed trichomes as early as these. We're just entering the third week of flower, and by the end of week two (which should still have been transition), these were starting to show structure building on the leaves. The plants seem to be over their Ca/Mg issues and over-all appear to be happy. They're stretching but (famous last words) not badly yet. I do expect more to come. -a little bit of a challenge to keep humidity in check as we move from a 'heated' (drier) environment to a more summer-like hot/humid environment. I have the dehumidifiers starting to kick on to keep the space the tent is in in the 50% range. I'll keep the airflow running to make sure they don't get rot. The Blumats are making things super easy. Last Wednesday I cleaned and re-filled the reservoir with 8g of feed/water. Over the weekend we were getting to around 4g and I added another two gallons of feed/water. I re-pH it every 2 days as it drifts upward, but not too bad...starting at 5.8 or 5.9 and after two days it's up to about 6.2 or 6.3. I add a bit of PH Down, and we're good for another couple days. In fact, the Blumats are taking out a whole bunch of the work...super easy and almost too easy.

Week 4 of flower, week 11 since germination. -Plants are showing some signs of potassium deficiency, lowers getting some blotchy chlorosis, brown tips and some small rusty spots. I'm upping the Maxibloom from 3.5g per gallon up to 4.5g per gallon and we'll see what's up. Maintaining a water/feed pH of 5.8-6.2 with daily checks and adjustments. Hopefully we'll see improvement this week. Not going to remove any damaged leaves as they have enough green/life in 'em to still do photosynthesis and if the plants need to draw more nutrients in, they still have plenty. -As we head to warmer/more humid weather the tent is getting a little hotter... I've got the dehumidifiers outside the tent keeping that floor in the 40-45% range though it's bumping temps up. My highs are now in the 87ish range and the lows are maintaining the 75f-77f range. Humidity is controlled in the 50-54% range averaging 52%. That's fine and the ventilation is running a bit more strongly, which is adding more airflow. -Plants are still growing, though not stretching too extremely. If they stay this height, I'm good. I removed some of the tie-downs now that they've been in flower for a few solid weeks and the branches have become woody and set. -Blumats continue to work just fine. Dripping at a rate of .75g or so per plant per day. They overall seem pleased. -PPFD has been bumped up a bit further for week 11. The DLI Calculator on the Photone site suggests that 850-890umol is reasonable and I'm running maybe a little hot with it 850-950 depending on where I take the readings with the Phantom Photobio meter. Bud sites are doing nicely and I haven't had plants before with this much trichome production on the leaves. Plenty of time to go, but really happy about how they're looking right now. Hopefully we can keep it up. I've done some light leaf removal here and there, but just to give light to bud-sites.

What's making these lowers blotchy yellow with some 'rust' spots? Any ideas? I think it's probably a P/K issue, am I underfeeding? Blumat drip system, Promix HP, Maxibloom @3.5g per gal. Ca/Mg @ 5ml per gallon. pH @5.8-6.2.

Hey there LeastExpected, so a few things are happening right now , basically it's from an imbalance in your NPK ratio. in flower you really want something like NPK 4-8-8 , right now you're at something like 2-4-8 , so right away you can tell you're going to be missing phosphorous, so what you're seeing in terms of yellowing is actually signs of K excess as well as P-deficiency. If you can find a way to add P that would help make your ratio better, and the problem will stop spreading almost immediately. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Week 13...missed updating week 12, but that was because I was out of town. Still running blumats and I've been further fussing with them. I've had a few short runaways, nothing disastrous but a bit of a pain. I've started to use Drip-Clean in my feed water and it's been a good move. I also dialed back my drip so the plants are getting less water, which seems counter intuitive, but also is working. Of course, you can see that the lowers look terrible. Calcium deficiency early moved on to a magnesium issue. I've gone to using filtered water with the Maxibloom, plus 1g per gallon epsom salts and 2.5ml of Ca/Mg per the Maxi schedule. I've dropped the feed down to 2.5g per gallon from ~3.5... I'm having a hard time adjusting to the Blumats and feed strength...but that's also probably compounded by the fact that the Durban is close to pure sativa and I just realized that it probably doesn't want as much fed to it. We'll see how it goes. I think the worst of the worst is over and what of the lowers didn't already fail will slowly fade out. Though the bud leaves are fine minus a bit of burn and show no signs of fading. One plant is ripening a bit quicker (The lower plant) and the taller one is still mostly white pistils, etc.

I really like this one, and will do more. My dry ended up being to about 55% and about 18 days which is lower than I really wanted, but it cured just fine. Reports from friends is that this is came out pretty top shelf. I lost one big bud to some mold/rot, but that was the only downer. I don't find this 'speedy' so much as just not sleepy...It doesn't make my eyes want to close themselves but I don't know about any bad side effects. I can't feel any. Buds grew solid and tight and they definitely were heavily resinated.

I actually expected this one to go longer, but it didn't was pretty darned happy with the results, though using blumats for half the grow was a little out of my comfort zone when it came to trying to diagnose and fix any issues along the way. I'll be headed back to hand-watering for the next grow since I won't be leaving for extended periods of time.

Just saw you were gonna add some Epsom salt for mag, do you feel like the mag in maxigro isn't enough?

@@JerkFlowers, I've really only just started using the Maxigro...previously I was using GH Trio but moved over towards the end of my last grow. A few longtime growers have suggested .5-1g of Mg weekly wouldn't hurt and I did previously have purple stems (a known sign of deficiency). I previously use Ca/Mg, but I don't think I need extra calcium, given my water starts at ~220ppm. This grow I've now used epsom salts in quantities of .5 and 1g and haven't had any signs of mg toxicity.
