She eventually germinated, but I feed like it's taking for ever to grow a little. I guess it's just thé start and it will accelerate. I water her on a daily basis.
Yay! The leaves are starting to look like normal leaves this week 😅😜
Mine also had some weird leaves, but those fibre cups I used held a lot of water still, and where the Dwarf was growing against the wall - it seems it was drowning :/
Repotted it straight again and it's doing fine again. I put a photo of how long the roots are for the little seedling.
Your guy still doesn't look like a dope plant, it's a master of disguise!
@ImpatientGrower, I wonder if we had the same batch of seeds, as most of these did not even germinate, and this one too is looking a bit... undeveloped for entering week 3... Meh - it'll be worth it in the end, I hope!
@@Teh_Saccade, if you look at my previous diaries, I have a royal dwarf that I grew on my windowsill. At the same time, it was much more developed.
I think we're gonna have to be patient
Hi - so you used the paper towel to try to germinate the seeds?
Out of the three - how many did you get to grow in the end?
I've so far had 1 out of 7, after nine days of them going (but once it goes, it goes!)
// it does look like a brussels sprout 😅
// I think you might be right about the shells being tough to start them off - I'm considering to mess with the ph of the ones in the water to see if it helps the shell bust a little or absorb more water... Perhaps these guys need a really good soak to get them going - the one I've managed to get started (1/7 this time, but only 1/18 all time) I gave up on and just left in a pot I was going to reuse for something else, before it arrived overnight...
@ImpatientGrower, Thanks - I think that I have had some bad batches of Royal Dwarf seeds. It is still only 1/7 for this set. That is great that it still grows after 3 years..! :D
I have put my seeds back into the paper-towel pot.
It is a special pot I use for germination, in that it is sealed so the moisture does not escape. Refresh once a day for the air to flow. So no rehydration - only to change the tissue when needed.
That is a good idea to use the face cleanser pads..!
Perhaps the temperature is wrong for them, or something else... I cannot think why they never move for this strain.
Thanks again!
@@Teh_Saccade, Hi
Out of 3 seed, 2 germinated, but the 1# was 3 years ago. So this one is an old seed and still it germinated. Even if she looks weird in it's beginning I will cary this grow (it's m'y last auto seed).
I did à mix of glass of water and paper towel (i always do and it works quite well). I put thé seed in a glass at room temperature for 24h. I check if the seed drowns after that, if it does I put it in a soaked face cleanser between two plates. I check after two days, if it developped enough, I plant it into soil. Sometimes I have to rehydrate the cotton.
Finally..! :P
It flowers :D haha! Great!
Just so you know - I have managed to get 6-8 additional stems with pistils (I accidentally broke one off...) going on the little Dwarf, by only bending it over and pulling down each one.
Maybe since it is only now flowering you can also expose more to the light by doing some LST, too?
Idk if it is too late for this, but I say - better late than never!
@@Teh_Saccade, yeah I did it because she is very leafy and there many flowers that would not get enough exposure. I got ris of the bottom little flowers too
Oh wow - check that out..!
Looking nice and healthy now :D
Not like a brussel's sprout any longer!!!
I notice your leaves are curled at the edges, too - my dwarf has started doing this, and I thought it was because I put it under a cheapy growlight when it was raining so hard recently (has washed a lot of my soil away it's been so heavy).
I'm hoping that it's just a trait of the variant, as I've never seen so much weird mutation in leaf shape and grow pattern from a single strain like this.
I wonder if RQS are in the middle of something..?
It's a stocky little fella! :D
I think that your light is strobing on teh camera - it has a low frequency maybe? Or the shutter speed on your camera (or whatever it is) that is auto-done is timed off - you can change the light level and it will be better :)
I wonder why it is that my dwarf does not resemble many of the others here - a lot are like this, and seem to be stout with no side branches, but some have many more...
The Dwarf seems to be able to either grow very regular like this, or with some harder LST is able to show many buds that become mains
