Put them in the glass on 420, couldn't pick a better day for it! After 24h in the water, they went into the substrate, in their final containers. Because I don't want to transplant them, as they are autoflowers. Germination was slow because it is still a bit cold in the Netherlands. But after a week or so they all emerged from the ground.
The first week of vegetative growth was a bit exciting, but I was afraid of the low temperatures. To protect them, I made little humidity domes from plastic bottles to keep them protected from the elements, as well as increase the temperature and humidity.
The three girls are growing well! This week was warmer and sunnier than the first week. The stems feel sturdy and they do not stretch for light, which was a problem last year. At the end of the week, the improvised 'greenhouses' were removed as the plants were getting too big and did not fit anymore. They still do not get any nutrients, as the soil should contain more than enough.
This week was very warm and sunny, and the plants loved it! Blueberry seems to be a bit smaller than the other two, not sure why. This week was still without nutrients, but starting next week, I will gradually add nutrients to the water.
The growth is really kicked into the next gear, they are taking off! Especially Amnesia Haze is a fast grower. I'm not doing much to them, just water them and give them a little bit of nutrients.
Another good week of veg. Gave them a little bit of nutrients. There is some yellowish discolouration on the new growth, not sure if they need more nutrients or if this will become darker over time. I don't really have to do much, autoflowers outdoors are so little work compared to indoor growing :)
They started blooming a week ago, but now you can really see it, with hairs developing and the smell increasing. The differences between the 3 cultivars are also becoming visible: Amnesia Haze is bigger than Blueberry.
I think the plants have almost stopped growing, and are now focussing on their flowers.
They have some spots on the leaves from bugs, but not so much I worry about it. There is also almost no ants with aphids on the plants, compared to the other plants in the garden some of which are full of them. Maybe the ants know not to mess with these plants?
Last week was not the best weather; pretty cloudy and rainy. But next week should be good with plenty of sun and high temperatures. So I am curious to see how they will grow!
The plants are looking a bit droopy because the pictures were taken before I watered them. The weather was hot and sunny this week, which is good for the plants' growth, but the watering need has increased substantially! The Blueberry is looking a bit better than the others, not sure if it's because of the fabric pot, the different soil, or maybe the plant can handle the conditions better? Anyways, I gave them all a good amount of water, so they should be looking better tomorrow!
This was a nice week for the girls, they showed some nice bud development! Especially Lava Cake has good thick clusters of buds. Blueberry looks like she is lagging behind a few weeks, even though this should be the fast finisher according to Zamnesia. But Blueberry is the best looking with regards to overall health; dark green and full of foliage and bud sites!
Missed a week, sorry for that! Anyways, the plants are looking alright. Amnesia Haze and Lava Cake are a bit hungry, but also nearing the end of the flowering period. Blueberry is looking better, but also like it is a few weeks behind the other girls, with still very skinny flower buds. Even though this was supposed to be the fast finisher... The other two are getting nice fat buds on a typical autoflower stature with one massive cola. The weather is hot and sunny the last couple of weeks, so they are growing very well.
The end is in sight for Lava Cake and Amnesia Haze, a little over a week and they will be harvested. Blueberry will still need a few more weeks as the pistils are still white and the buds meagre. Lava Cake and Amnesia Haze are showing a lot of discolouring of the leaves, from some nutrient imbalances and also being at the end of their lifecycle. Blueberry is looking a lot more green and vibrant, so she should be fine to grow a couple more weeks.
Just one girl left. The other two autoflowers have been harvested, leaving this one to finish independently. She is definitely taking much longer than specified by Zamnesia. I chose this strain so it would end long before my vacation, but instead I have to arrange for friends to take care and harvest this one.
The plant was nice to grow overall: it was pretty healthy and looked way better than the other 2 autoflowers. However, it took ages to finish and the finished product is not really good.
