WEEK 12 D78. Loving her new space. She's a big girl. What you can see, are old war wounds, she's actually very healthy and eating well, drinks about 1l of nutrient solution a day. I set the ppm at 550 every day and within 24hrs the ppm drops a 100ppm or so. And I top it up. Constantly adjusting the PH, well, every day, and it'll only get worse as you keep the same water as the PH buffers are left behind, therefore increasing your PH. And it doesn't help the only PH adjuster I have is organic, and I'm using h202, so I'd say it plays a part in messing up its PH. I just keep a 1l bottle there ready beside it now and adjust every day. For the 1st 9-10 weeks these gals were left at the back and sometimes I wouldn't check the water for 3-5 days, and they paid the price. But I'm getting some decent growth, in my pics you'll see what I HST'ed and if you look at the knuckle you'll see how bad a state she was in, I HST'ed 4 nodes and 1 broke off it got so dry for some reason, putting it down to root rot and she was in nutrient lock for weeks. But all my time is going into these now, and my chances of bringing to harvest have increased a lot.
Done some light defol and will do more, as you can see, she has a lot of sugar leafs but has some pretty nice colas. I'll take its true height this week, as last time I took it was half way into pre flower but she didn't put on much more height after 10 days of PF. you can c where I HST'ed the colas themselves are much fuller, so HST is your friend. They are all standing up, as I didn't tie them down, but it's HST all the same, once you break that membrane and makes a knuckle then you got it. I've been keeping the nutrients at min, I've added some silica and thankfully I did, it seems to have made her much stronger as she was struggling to hold herself upright but she's all good now. I have ripen for the last 2 weeks for that extra flowering kick. But I'm going to start applying a smaller dose now to help the flowering process. Just .3 of a ml or 50-80ppm extra. I'll change the water again this week and adjust the EC.
As for the light, she's a beast, she is covering around 100x100 atm but I have 4 autos in my tent to the side and I just checked what light they were getting, and to my surprise the plants far away from the light parts were getting 20k+ lux. Wow. The lead is 2m long and the driver is at the end of that, allowing you more than enough room to put it outside the tent, as drivers get hot, the light itself oozes of quality and has great light penetration.

Thanks to my Mars sponsor, she knows who she is, and thanks to mars themselves for making a great light.
From what I've read, if you can't keep the temp low enough you can use beneficial microbes or hydrogen peroxide to prevent root rot. I've been using peroxide on my virgin DWC benture when the temp goes above 20°C, so far so good
@Misanthrope, Hey bro. Well the nutrients in using have a lil higher temp rate. It stats to keep the water under 25c with the bactria. So I'm using them and they seem to be doing ok. The roots are strong. Not breaking off when I run my hand down them and not slimy, so that's all good right? I was looking at getting some h202 but idk enough about it and what types of enzymes I can use with it..for the moment they seem to be doing ok. I'm pulling enzymes and root stims after wk 6 so I'll just keep throwing in ice bottles and bowls of PH'ed ice. Thanks for your comments. Will drop by and hv a look at how u do it. Is there any set DWC tank insulation I can buy or just a DIY job?
Hey Growmie, man sorry for your struggles! Has to have been a bacteria or virus for it to come in that quickly. Have you checked the inside of the buds for any rot or fungus?
@Jays_Not_Here_Man, yeah, was thinking the same thing man. Was one of the 1st things I did. Gave her a good going over and took what leafs off her that came off with a light pull, so dead. And was able to check her very closely, I also took off a sample and split her open and used my 60-100x microscope and there was nothing out of the normal. She just kicked her self into what was like a 2 weeks hard flush. She's struggling to eat atm, have set her ppm at 480 and thrown in some ripen. She's still sticky, not as sticky as she was though, but you know plants, some weeks that is better than others, also my RH has been a lot lower than normal so I think she's had it. I'll know for sure 2moro when the light comes back on, if she's high in the PPM I'll drop it to 250 and if she doesn't get back to eating on that then there's nothing more I can do. And she was just coming into the fattening stage, poxy sucks
Total Pond A20019 16-Ounce Pond Sludge Remover https://a.co/d/2E7NX5j this stuff has saved my dwc grows and seem to promote healthy white roots. I add 2.5mL per 5 gallon reservoir once a day and it kills any infection and then keeps it clean. Once the infection is gone it's probably not necessary but I'm not taking a chance thru the summer. No more h2o2 for me :-)
@Misanthrope, hmm, I'll be sure to look at it. Can you DM me how you used your H202 please. I know not to add anything organic but I need to be careful not to add too much so it doesn't attack the roots cause they are organic. Right.
So I've added 1ml/l how often will I have to top that up? And will I be best using it continuously with the nutrients right, cause using it just to clean the roots for a few hours makes no sense to me you'd have to do it all the time. So, no organic nutrients or minerals and straight h202 with synthetics right?
@Misanthrope, haha, ye, not ideal. And changing it around after 12hrs into the big tent for 6 hrs while the photos sleep i have to be on the ball and make sure I change just before the light goes out, set up the small tents intake then to make a negative pressure environment in that whole keeping RH under control. My temps are crazy with 4 drivers running in my room. From 26.5c to 31c. Ordered an AC unit, just what I needed more poxy watts lol. Think ill just leave changing the light round and give the autos 12hrs under the fc 3000 and then 6 hrs under the 2 p1000s and sf1000. Is a bit much running altogether.
Am definitely going to get a smaller tent and getting rid of this POS homebox.
Thanks for dropping by pal and for your comments. Cheers 🍻
Happy growing bud.
Comparing the pics in week 3 & 4, it looks to me like there was significant growth in the past week. I wouldnt worry too much about the compact plant, it will probably make up for it when you switch to flower and she stretches
@Misanthrope, ye, I've decided to go another way. You are right the 4 bottom nodes had made big growth so I said, hey, if she's focusing her growth there why not take away all that underdeveloped nodes, 5 sets and I'm left with 2. It was too compact and not grown up. It's the tent within a tent. The temps not good. All my plants in here are suffering. I need an AC unit. Also too many drivers. RH is a nightmare to control.
