Will be the first to come down from this run for sure. Seeing a bunch of amber trichs for almost a week already and supposed to go for another week or two according to breeder suggestion. I'm thinking closer to 5-7 days from now it will get the chop. Certainly a fast finishing Purple Haze pheno!
I work with multiple strains so sometimes it's hard to be certain where smells are coming from until harvest time. That being said, there is definitely a haze sweet/spice smell that comes off this plant specifically. I might be getting some berry terp scents too but that might be coming off a neighbor plant. TBD.
Lastly, the red("purple") color change in the calyxes started from the bottom up. So many strains get the "purple" name from their tendency for leaves to change to purple but this strains calyxes really do seem to undergo a nice hue change. My temps ranged from 60f ish at night time to low 90s after a few hours with lights on at the warmest. I know that cold temps can exaggerate color change so would be curious if these colors would be even more dramatic grown in my colder months where low temps are easier to achieve throughout all of flower. I love that rather than being called "purple" for the leaves, it's called purple for the actual calyxes colorful. They are reddish pink in some places and I'm thrilled to see how they looked manicured and dried/cured. Didn't weight the plant wet because my scale is too small for trying to weight this giant plant haha. Oh well. Will make sure to get dry weight.
Purple Haze has been on my strain "bucket list" for a long time. Growing it was a joy and I'm happy I finally did it. A sweet and spicy pungent smell. Can't wait to see it cured to drop a smoke report in a few weeks!
Manicured about 95% of the way and dropped into Grove bags for curing as of 10/6. Weight is almost dead on 2oz but will lose a little more after cure and final manicure. Would bank on a good 48-50 grams of quality nugget when done. Smoke report in about 1-2 weeks!
